Active Sync - Cant get it going.....Arggghhhhhh!!

Hello

Bought XDA mini s from 02 yesterday. Installed the softrware that came with the mini s.

Active sync installed, plug the usb cable to laptop and to phone and nothing happens. Laptop showing the device is installed and detected but no connection made to the active sync. The active sync icon just keeps on spinning and nothing happens.

So, uninstall and reinstall active sync (a number of times) and doesnt work. Installed the new version 4.1 from microsoft website (link provided on one of the thread here) and that didnt work either.

Getting really frustrated as I have tried everything, reboot laptop, pluggin usb cable to different usb ports on the laptop, switching phone off and on, etc.

Please help.

Thanks a lot for the link, will take a look later.

First read is that it may be affected by my trendmicro software.

Finally, after updating my virus software to allow active sync going through its 'path' the thing finally works. Thanks Carmi!

2 question:

1. after sync'd with phone, it has become very slow and crashes all the time i change program or something. why?

2. i have over 200 contacts on outlook, they dont seem to have sync'd over to the phone. any idea why. I only have whats on my sim card?

did you mark to sync contact (on the PC)?
if yes - add a contact on the device - after Sync check if Outlook (on PC) have it?
