Sprite Backup for WM5 will be released 2/7/2006 -Backup Poll

The beta for Sprite backup has ended and the general release is scheduled for Feb 7,2006. I know not exciting news, but I have been having some minor issues with SPB backup and Sunnysoft. The Sprite beta seemed to work best.

The bad news is, the price will be 29.95 and you will only get a 14.95 rebate if you had purchased sprite backup after nov 1, 2005.

Oh well, Glad I got in early on the beta and and can't wait for the free t-shirt and licensed download.

I have been using the Sunnysoft backup manager for almost two moths without problems, but let me test the new beta you are talking about (Sprite).
I'll tell you wathever.

Got an email from SPB yesterday, they are in the final testing phase, with scheduled backup feature.

The final list of the main backup features:

Scheduled backups
Self-Restoring backup files
Compression and 128-bit AES encryption
Optimised fast backup
Desktop PC Utility for extracting data from backup files

It is due for release 14 Feb, nice choice of date :D

It will cost $19.99, with 20% discount for owners of other SPB software.

As a thank you for the testing and feedback, they have given me a serial number, so I can get it for free :D

We have also amended the pricing for users wishing to upgrade from a previous version of Sprite Backup. Please read below for details.

An update to our Upgrade story; just to clarify why there is no Upgrade Version – the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system is so different to the 2002/2003 systems that it was not possible to build an "upgrade" version and in most instances users will have new devices that require a full installer in any event.

Thus we will continue without an “Upgrade”, but we do want to offer existing users of Sprite Backup Premium 3.1.4 an “Upgrade” option at $15. The easiest way for us to do this is to offer a rebate/partial refund on new purchases made from our store at www.spritesoftware.com

Simply purchase your full copy of Sprite Backup 5.0 from our store at www.spritesoftware.com (this is important – no other online store will offer the “Upgrade-rebate”) and then submit:

a) the Worldpay Transaction ID for the new V5 transaction
b) your contact Name and Email that you used when you bought your original Sprite Backup Premium 3.1.4
