Installed this rom after doing full backup of T-mobile Rom. How do I get my T-mobile settings working again GPRS will not connect.
TIA
Get the settings from club i-mate for t-mobile contract or pay-as-u-go. It'll be in a cab file which you can install directly from your memory card, otherwise search the forum for t-mobile .cab settings (or something like it).

Hi guys,
had someone before flashing this rom problem with self reseting and hiding storage card and can now, with this rom, confirm that problem is solved out?

Funny you should ask this -- I never had one spontaneous reset but since then I have had a few. Also, my SD card still diisappears from time to time with the new ROM build.

Hi,
has anyone already found a German version of the ROM? I wonder why the danish ROM came first ;)

sportfreund & samans-cz:
I've had so many spontaneous hard resets since flashing Buttons ROM that I thought something is definately wrong with my Wizard!!
Try flashing Qteks ROM version 1.6.7.1 it's a lot more stable and there's nothing missing from it. I'm still evaluating it (only had it for 24 hours mind you), but since I've had it, not one single issue of stability, performance or spontaneous resets and duplicate installation of programs after these resets!!
Go figure. However not everybody has had the same experience (or they're not being honest about it)
Anyway best of luck
P.S. check this:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=518&more=1
It seems the Qtek ROM is the most stable of them all!!
Qtek ROM:
Rom Version: 1.6.7.1 WWE
Rom Date: 11/28/05
Radio version: 01.13.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.24
ExtRom: 1.6.7.101

Hi,
I know :)
I am currtently using the 1.6.7.101-ROM, since i had strange soft resets with my original o2 ROM 1.3.x - well, they are gone.
But acutally I'm really missing A2DP and Push :)

I think that it is very strange that the official update is taking so long to complete. MS had the update shipped last year to the manufacturers and according to the documents I found on bluetooth CIG's web the bluetooth specifications where updated January 20th by HTC. Some interesting reading in those documents.......See attachments if you are interested.
Still waiting for the official SWE ROM update. Last info I got was mid march. If it takes longer I will have to start using the English version.

Im still having some problems with direct push. It works although with an big delay. It takes about 10 minutes(sometimes more some times less) to get an push sync. Very strange, i changed my iis timeout to 18000 sec and the problems occurs both over gprs and wifi( so it should be a gprs related packet drop from my phone network) . Does anybody has the same problems? I have configured my items when they arrive...

@ Bartdesign,
I also have a delay in the pushmail, and don' t seem to get a notification if new mail arrives, dit I miss a option somewhere?
I can' t figure out where the delay is coming from, I think it is vodafone, my ISA Server monitoring let me see a message almost rihgt away.

important question on aku 2.0
when setting up regular emails (not exchange) does outlook now poll all email accounts or it still polls only the currently selected email account if you ahve more than 1 email account setup to check every xx number of minutes?

Hi all,
After more than 10 days of testing, I must say that this test rom is much more stable & quicker than the original one. I have an almost perfect machine now...
Concerning push mail, I tried 4smartphone.net free trial, and it is working fine, even if sometimes it seems really slow to notify mails (from 30 sec to up to 20 minutes...which is not worth paying for it, I believe).
I tried mail2web.com services, but it doesn't work at all as of today (it seems they did not migrate yet on exchange 2003 sp2).
Their extremly efficient & reactive support service wrote me that they could offer such a service in the near future...
If anyone knows another exchange SP2 email provider, it is welcomed, especially if it is for free!

This is working great for me - thank you all! I *love* the push email!
Now, just one small problem I've come up against - maybe it's me being dumb (almost certainly); the logmein.com client no longer works.
My Wizard logs into the logmein.com site and downloads the client as you'd expect. It installs successfully (it's right there in 'remove programs' too), but after installation, it keeps kicking me back to the page that insists you need to install the client. It isn't recognising that it is installed. Has there been a security change to Internet Explorer? Is there a work around - either a way to change the security, or to skip detection on logmein.com? Or is it something else entirely?
Just to be clear - I've tried reseting, reinstalling, installing to device, installing to storage card, clearing cache, clearing cookies, and installing it on a completely clean install as well. Nothing works. The same client worked happily on the previous (imate) ROM.

For all of you who are reporting good things with the push email, how are you getting around the fact that the device does not wake up to notify of a new email that comes in when on standby? I too am liking the fact that the push system seems more consistent than the old sms-triggered system, but am really disliking the fact that if the device goes to sleep, I don't get notified that a new email comes in until I physically check.

good question :)
i installed this just fine on my Cingular 8125 and it seems a lot better and most stable. performance is about the same as the cingular rom with added tweaks (i still had to tweak to get the speed up there), now i gotta test the push feature :D

I am notified even if the device is in standby mode. You just have to chose the sound & notifications parameters you want. For email notification, you can chose the sound, light and/or vibration notification you want.

I have done this to no avail. Might be a problem with software interaction, but I never had the problem prior to the upgrade.

No, me neither; I'm just glad to know that it isn't just me being dumb! logmein.com is important to me, but I'd rather have push email, thank-you very much!
I can only think it's a PIE/security change. I've not tested any other plugins - I wonder if Flash Player is affected in the same way? Has anyone tried it?

If they forced turning off scripting in the new ROM, then that's why logmein doesn't work. It was happening on mine when I turned off scripting (still on old ROM) via tweaks2k2 to speed up browsing.

It doesn't show as turned off in Tweaks2k2.
To be sure, I've turned scripting off via Tweaks2k2, reset, then switched it on again and soft reset. Guess what.... Logmein.com still doesn't work :(
If ActiveX scripts are disabled in this ROM, it may be more fundamental than just being switched off in the registry.... although I'm going to dedicate a few minutes to poking around the registry to see if there's anything new in there, not that I'm any great expert.

As far as I can remember I did nothing special (Possibly deleted any partnerships first but that shouldn't affect things). I did clear the device though (Hard Reset) perhaps that has some bearing on it?

hi, this message is more for the orange spv m3000 owners/users.
i updated to the AKU2 rom and it works fine, it seems to be more stable and faster but.
Because there is always a but.
as you might know orange has equiped its spvm3000 with 2 significant softwares ( for me ).
1 is a today plugin that gives easy and fast acces to calendar, contact photo and orange mobile portals.
2 is the embedded video player from Packet video i guess, that allow to connect to EDGE TV channels on Orangeworld (at least here in France).
Now i ve lost those 2 softs i m very sad :) i was unable to find them in the orange ext rom, and of course the signed software do not work any more with this ROM.
Can somebody help to get them back ? :)

Rats. I've got 'enable direct push over http' checked on the mobile services dialog in exchnage system manager and I'm running the connection between device and server over wireless lan at the moment so firewall connection timeouts aren't affecting it. Any other ideas? Do you all have a schedual option on your devices for 'as they arrive' syncing of messages? As I said I had it but it disapeared! (i seem to remeber this is a AUTD option as well?)
I don't have the option for push on my exchange server, yet we are running SP2. I just have "Enable Outlook Mobile Access" and "Enable Unsupported Devices", both currently unchecked. Am I missing something?

Exactly how did the folks who claim to rollback actually do it?

I just installed this rom and my stereo headset is finaly working. What I dont like is that everytime I want to stream music to my headphones I Have to open the bluetooth settings and choose "Set as wireless stereo". If someone call me or I make a call it turns off and after the call is finished the sound comes from the external speaker again. Hate when it does that on the bus :?
Yup same problem. What stereo bluetooth headphone do you have? Mine is the Itech S35 and I have a clip S, seems from what I have read it is with the Itech's because I think someone said that this was not an issue with the Motorola. Anyone else?
Like Mackas I have the Plantronics Pulsar 590, but this does not happen with me. However, I was listening to music, received a call, spoke for about 10 minutes, and expected the music to unpause. It did not.
WMP actually stopped fully... so I had to reach back in my pocket to start it up via the phone. It then automatically played music over the wireless headset.

Yeah, this is exactly my experience with the same phone/headphones.
Although it does seem to kick in again after calls SOME of the time... not sure what governs it!
And I feel a little self-conscious looking like a martian as I do with those Pulsar thingies!!

I installed 2.8.7.102 last night on a fresh TMo MDA.
Install went well, but I've had the unit reboot spontaneously twice since upgrading. The second reboot was during a phone call.
Thus I am backing down to 1.6.7.10 and hoping for better luck. It's too bad as I wanted to try AD2P and also the Push mail seemed to be working with my corporate exchange server.
Anyone have any insights into why the 2.8.7 was rebooting?

I just installed this ROM and it seems to replace the entire rom space including the Extended Rom area, so you do loose all install files provided by your current provider if you are worried about that. IDK if that is normal or not. Everything seems to be working pretty well

Re: Wi-Fi capability
I'm using 2.8.7.1 WWE on my Qtek 9100 for about 1.5 weeks. And I'm able to connect to any Wi-Fi networks i have. Seems to be no problem for me at all.
The only issue I see here is that I always install patch for Wi-Fi G discussed here at the forum (i have it in my cab tweak with my personal settings).

I flashed 2.8.7.1 WWE this morning in my T-Mobile MDA Vario. Worked like a charm.
Bluetooth, WiFi and GPRS work excellent. The sound quality isn't any different as before. A2DP is present (but I can't test it due to the lack of an A2DP compatible headset).
Definitely much faster and more stable than my old T-Mobile 1.3.2.2.

if extended ROM doesn't configure your network settings then things seem to default to your work network. this is fine if everything is configured for work but can cause issues for some people who change settings to internet not realizing that the network adapter or something is set to work. anyways... i commented on this at on another board and put some screenshots... http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=6824832#post6824832

Can anyone find out whether the Qtek test ROM with a2dp fixed the radio roaming problem? The problem I used to have with the old ROM (1.1.7.5) is that regardless which network I manually select, it still roams over to another network when it loses my original network's signal. Your help is really appreciated.

I found a cab for a new Comm Manager variant in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42848&highlight=. That one seems fine, but is there a cab file for the newest one, as seen in this thread:

It is supposed to be in the new K-JAM rom.

You will find the qtek rom update at ftp://xda:xda@xda-developers.com. I have upgraded my o2 xda mini s (wizard) to the qtek 2.8.7.2 rom version. It seems to run well. The only small problem i have found was that the keyboard layout has changed. I have fixed the problem using aekmap. If anyone else has this problem download aekmap from http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php. then download & use the english qwerty htc wizard map i created.

I have upgraded to ROM to version 2.8.7.102 FRE. The system looks much faster. However, I started to have troubles to connect wireless access points.
Qtek 9100 finds the access points but it has problems to connect, even if they are available and I have all the keys.
Can anyone help me to find a solution?

In older versions, Qtek 9100 worked with both B and G.

Yep i can... click on that -> ftp://xda-developers.com./Wizard/Roms/Qtek click on File: RUU_Prodigy_2080701_101_11310_Qtek_WWE_Test.exe download the file. click on that -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796 sign up and download lokiwiz - HTC Wizard Unlocker v0.2b from the first post. Unrar the file. Copy Enablerapi.cab to ya phone and run it and wait for it to finish. Then make sure ya phone IS connected to ya pc via active sync and. Run Lokiwiz.bat ON YA PC. Type c then press enter. Ya phone should then soft restart. Ya phone is now unlocked. Again make sure ya phone is connected via active sync run File: RUU_Prodigy_2080701_101_11310_Qtek_WWE_Test.exe. Follow the instructions and dont unplug ya phone.

Yep its the correct version. Sorry, in the post about aekmap i said i upgraded to version 2.8.7.2. i meant to type 2.8.7.1. Anyway about aekmap! First download aekmap by clicking here -> http://ae.inc.ru/aekmaplicense.php then download the keyboard map i did by clicking here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=9809 Install aekmap on ya phone by using active sync (i think). Then unrar English, HTC Wizard with QWERTY keyboard.zip and copy to the installed file of aekmap ie program files/AEKMap. Then in programs run AEKMap Settings and in the top drop down box select English Wizard QWERTY then click load then save. Thats it! oh and ya may also need to soft reset. i didnt but if it doesnt work just try that. Now ya keyboard is back to normal

Hey, wildman_lin, I did the same thing a few weeks ago.
The main problem I had (with the flashing) was due to the battery not being fully charged on the Prophet. Without any ROM installed, the battery does not charge. Either borrow another battery or find a suitable temporary replacement (I used a SP5 and an elastic band). Annoyingly, the Wizard and Prophet do not use the same batteries, so they cannot fit both devices, even with an elastic band!
Once you have juice, I then got into the boot loader mode (hold the photo button while pressing the reset button - wait about 7 seconds). You will know when you are in this mode, as you will get colour banding.
Load the right ROM back on. If you get the 95% problem, simply try again. I got it to work by restting the device after about 30%, which messed the ROM and then let me put the right ROM back on.
PM me if you want more help.
Good luck! :)

If you don't have the key "Locale" (it's a string) then create it with the value corresponding to your hardware keyboard, then switch off your device, wait 10 seconds, switch it on and softreset it.
After OS loaded you may have the correct keyboard on it.

I would agree that the device is more responsive.
However I am puzzled by the battery life results.
I have 2 devices. The first one (which I re-flashed with this rom) is an O2 Mini S. The second is an XDA Vario - with rom version 1.6.2.105.
The battery life on both in standby is the same ( a lot better than the O2 was before I flashed it).
But as soon as I bring the one with the new rom out of standby and use it (say to alter a setting or browse with file explorer), the battery charge drops by 3-4% at a time.
Have you noticed this? or is it just my device.

Hi y'all! I also have an HTC Apache (Verizon XV6700) and need urgently to find if there's a way I can load this (or another compatible) ROM update so that I can use my Plantronics 590 high-fidelity/stereo/A2DP headphones that I currently use with my Sprint PPC-6600 using a patch I downloaded here that doesn't work on the XV6700.
I just purchased this XV6700 crossing my fingers that I could get one of the patches here to work its magic on it, but so far no luck. I will, unfortunately, have to return it to Verizon in the next few days in order to get a full refund (under their 15-day satisfaction guarantee) if I cannot find and successfully load a patch.
One helpful poster referred me to this thread, and I have read through all of the messages. I tried following the instructions exactly, turning off my personal firewall and anti-virus software, running the CID unlocker (including EnableRapi.cab), making sure ActiveSync is working and is connected, and then trying to load the ROM, but I just get the response from the ROM update program, "Error [222]: Device not responding" I've tried reinstalling drivers and such and yet nothing works.
I did notice while using the unlocker that I received the following errors:
ERROR: ITReadDisk: outbuf==NULL
ERROR: Unable to open host/destination file - The system cannot find the file specified.
(I made sure that I was using the most up-to-date version of the unlocker, Lokiwiz02b.zip.)
The unlocker claimed that my CID was unlocked and rebooted the phone, but I'm wondering if it truly did. Even if it didn't, however, it's not clear that my ROM update error (Error [222]: Device not responding.) is necessarily a result of this or is a different problem altogether.
I've spent many hours trying different ways of getting this, a patch from message board "O2 MINI NEW BLUETOOTH STOCK," (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33532&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=62e1c69ae9eb191e1535156cc203724e) or my original patch to work to no avail. I'm probably out of luck and I'm just about to give up. I've gone through the four stages of the grieving process and have reached acceptance. Yet, I make this one last cry for help...
http://www.poster.net/simpsons-the/simpsons-the-simpsons-scream-4100291.jpg
PLEASE OH PLEASE!!! Can someone make my Apache support A2DP?!? I will worship you for all eternity (or at least until Windows Mobile 6.0 comes out)... :D

Dear e. e. cummings,
Thanks for your oh-so-helpful advice. As a matter of fact, I have spent hours researching this forum, other forums, Google, Yahoo, and, yes, Wikipedia, which I even added to myself. I have no idea what the difference between CDMA and GSM is and have been trying to learn as much as possible to help myself, which is difficult to do when no one explains things in terms normal human beings understand and mouse-fondlers with superiority complexes are too busy propping up their fragile egos by thinking up great insults for less-experienced posters who are only trying their best to learn.
But I do appreciate the fact that you actually answered my question, unlike all of the other arrogant, boorish trolls. So seriously...thanks! :D
P.S. Helpful hint...It's right above your <Ctrl> key. Try it some time.

well honestly, you are a newb, but we all were at one time, so don't take to heart anything i say. i rarely use proper punctuation on forums as there just isn't any point, but spelling and grammar i do care about. i'll give you the layman's explanation for the two technologies. CDMA which is only used by Verizon and Sprint (in the US) runs on different frequency than GSM does, and is an entirely different technology, though similar in some aspects. GSM however, is honestly better, runs at different frequencies, allows users to use any GSM phone that is unlocked (verizon can't do that), and a few other things that i can't think of right now. so all in all, you cannot flash a CDMA phone with a GSM Radio ROM, as you wouldn't be able to use your phone anymore, as the phone does not support GSM technology.

Thank you! That makes sense. Of course, it does mean I'm sending the darn thing back until they make one that does support A2DP. (Curse you, Verizon!!)
I was so geeked about upgrading to WM5, too. Of course, I don't really have a clue how it's any better than WM2003SE, but then again that's what makes me such a highly-prized Microsoft customer. (And yes, that was a subtle self-deprecating poke.) :)
Thanks again. (I mean that seriously this time.)

:D :D
Please forgive the length of this post. I hope something I write will be useful.
I have been using a xv6600 (HTC BA) for over a year on verizon's network which is rather good. Their EVDO is very fast. However, the device only works in the U.S. and I wanted the following features which I have not been able to get working on the BA:
Activation of MS Voice Command Activation over a Bluetooth (VCABT) headset.
A2DP High Quality Stereo over Bluetooth.
Better Reliability.
Clearer Sound (less static) over Bluetooth headsets.
A GSM phone with a SIM card so I could travel and not be locked to any certain wireless company. And
More.
Though I love the BA, I cannot get everything I want even with the great hacks on this website. Like the rest of you, I eagerly await the Hermes which will be available shortly - I hope. I didn't want to wait so I bought an 8125 with no plan. I had a Cingular prepaid card to try with it.
With the Cingular ROM which came with the equipment, I was able to use the registry hack and get the Voice Command working through my Jabra 500 BT headset. Howver, the device locked up so much and was so slow, I almost sent it back.
Next I downloaded Lokiwiz from this site and unlocked both the SIM and CID. It was easy. Thanks Guys!!! Next, I used the UK (English) ROM referred to in this thread. I then added the MS Voice Command Software v 1.5 and performed the registry hack using Resco Registry editor to allow the button on the Jabra BT500 to activate Voice Command.
I would like to report as follows.
I was able to successfully pair and use my I-Phono mini Stereo Bluetooth Headsets (450Rx) with the 8125. The sound is great. With the BA, there was static if I turned around or went more than a few feet from the phone. With the 8125, I hear music clearly up to 12" even if I turn around. I can also get the I-Phono to change songs and pause the music. I have not been able to activate voice command with this BT device yet.
I have also been able to start VC with the Jabra BT500.
There's a little lag, but it does work. It's especially nice if your skiing or biking and have the phone in your pocket or backpack.
I also just got the Motorola BT820 stereo headsets. I was able to pair them to the 8125 and use them to activate voice command and listen to stereo music. I've only spent a few minutes with this headset and have the following comments: I had trouble switching between the phone and music. The music sound good but not as good as the I-Phono.
More importantly, this ROM is much faster than the Cingular one which it came with. I'd like to see a faster processor, but I'm not entirely sure it's necessary. I've compared tasks on the 8125 with the same ones on the BA. The 8125 isn't bad in locks up less often, including while surfing the web.
Regarding web surfing, I started with Cingular but didn't like the responses I got from them. So I decided to give T-Mobile a try. T-Mobile and has better international rates. I found their sales and support people extremely helpful. I used the phone in Costa Rica (but didn't know how to get the GPRS data to work.) Once back in Atlanta, I got the GPRS set up correctly and used it to do lots of browsing including Google searches with no problem. When I got back to Salt Lake City, I could not search on Google. Apparently this is a regional problem for T-Mobile GPRS. However, there's a good fix on this website for that problem too.
In all I'm very impressed with the 8125 Wizard. I'm not sure whether the 8125 or T-Mobile MDA is better. The 8125 looks a lot better. However, the buttons on the MDA may be easier to use. The 8125's are very small and my fingers too large.
The BA's 3.5" screen is something I may miss. However, I won't miss the short battery life and the non-existence of persistent memory of the BA. WM 5.0 is also pretty good. The controls are a little better. I have not had to reset the 8125 as much as the BA.
In conclusion this ROM works pretty good. It only locks up sometimes when I try to activate voice command over BT, or when I get too many programs going at once. I browses quickly and efficiently even on T-Mobiles GPRS network.
Now HTC needs to get the Hermes going. I'll buy that too. I hope they will plan another device which has a 3.5" screen but not as large as the JASJAR. Lot's of people complained that the BA was like holding a plate to their head. However, I liked the wide flat shape of the BA. With good Voice Command over Blue tooth, the device could be larger and be kept in a case or backpack until needed. What I'm trying to say is that I'd like a laptop replacement. I'm sick of carrying it around.
Thanks to all who contribute to this most excellent site.

Hi,
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question!
When I click the link to get the english version of the ROM nothing happens!
Do I have to do something else first?
