UK/DK/FR ROM 2.8.7.102 with AKU2/A2DP/Push Email update

I just noticed that a new ROM was posted on buzzdev that includes AKU2 finally!!

It's in french, but I don't mind as I'm fluent in french ;) At least it's a start...

The version is 2.8.7.102 with radio ROM 1.13.10, but the file date is december 5th 2005 inside the EXE. Seems rather old... 2 months old...

I just want to know if anybody tried it so far and what are the improvements. I know it should have stereo bluetooth and push email, but anything else interesting? I already did an 1.6.7 update a few weeks ago, and reinstalling every program is a PITA... I wish we could do an update without hard resetting... or is there a good backup program that is actually restoring programs and registry in WM5?

After some quick replies from you guys, it seems to be a working test version released for the Qtek 9100. So before using it, you must unlock your device if it's not a wonderfull Qtek, but you knew that ;) It does work, but there might be some issues (like memory leaking, etc.) similar to a beta version. It's dated from december 5th 2005, so not the latest, but must of us here don't mind since it's finally AKU2 for the wizard!

It didn't took too long for someone to appear with an english ROM, impressive. Kudos for the original poster on buzzdev and to the poster of the english and danish ROMs. Now we can all enjoy it. How long before other languages pop up? :)

It could be good working version, haven't test it but in this article: http://www.pocketinfo.nl/artikel/5101 (it's in Dutch) it clearly shows the same date as you mentioned.

However, I would not recommend doing a rom update en then backing up old reg key's since they could easily have been changed by the upgrade.

There is sureley no way to turn this ROM into an English one? :twisted: :evil:

The filename contains "TEST" keyword, is it reaaly beta-test or what? I don't wanna download ~50 Mb just for testing and my EDGE can't be distinguished from usual GPRS for now ;-(

I had to do a hard reset anyway today because I didn't set a link correctly at startup for the OMAP overclocking utility, so I decided to give this ROM a try. Seems to be a full ROM and I only see a note on the startup Qtek image that says "Test only, not for sale". There is a new WM boot image too. The ROM seems pretty responsibe, but maybe it's just the hard reset ;)

I don't have a stereo bluetooth headset to test it and I'm not able to find the settings for the different profiles, maybe I need to pair a headset first to set the setero profile. I'll look into the new jabra or the moto as I was waiting for the AKU2 update with A2DP to buy one.

Yes it does!
Although I don't speak French, I just had to try out this ROM. I configured server based ActiveSync e-mails came in automatically.

I also used ActiveSync web admin tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC-E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) to wipe the device remotely. Strange thing is that device asked for my confirmation. I don't know what the message meant, but I guess it's because of the beta version.

must point out can't read or speak french, so only some easy to spot items

1. a2dp and avrcp enabled
2. if you have a password set, the unit goes to the password screen at the set time if the pda is on
3. clock now on today screen but moves to top bar when today screen hidden
4. alarm works properly
5. battery icon on top bar where clock was

i know this is only short list, but not understaning french i am being very careful in the menu's

Can you do a screenshot of the OS build (Settings - System - About). It should show Build 14xxx.2.x.x if this is a AUK2 rom.

Did you CID unlock your device? It might help to turn your firewall and anti-virus off during the update.

I am testing this ROM for about 2-3 Hours.

A2DP works. I have found no other changes in my device.

1. In stereo mode, sound drops down when I move my device, or shake it, or I move my head. However, I think it is rather problem of my Anycom Stereo Headset (I have the same sound drops also with my PC).
2. Next and previous buttons of my headset work fine.
3. In the stereo mode (hendsfree), if there is incoming call, headset turns automatically in headset mode. (by the way, this function doesn’t works by Stereo headset- PC connection with Broadcom/Widcom software)
4. I could not find any app to turn on/off stereo audio streaming. I must every time go to Bluetooth setting, and select “ Set as Wireless Stereo” option shown in the third picture.

I held my breath and updated my device this morning. Seems very stable. I have an Itech Clip S and Clip S38. I paired them and the audio symbol comes up and there is stereo!

BUT it seems with both headsets that when you turn off bluetooth OR turn off the headset and then turn them on it will not automatically start the stereo gateway. It does start the handsfeee cause you can make phone calls. You have to go into the bluetooth settings - device list and tap/hold and click set as wireless stereo then it will work again.

Anyone else found this? I hope this is just a conversion to the english rom or part of the beta because it is a real pain.

Is there anyway to extract the A2DP profiles from there and install it in the Atom? Some system files perhaps?

Currently the a2dp profiles in Atom produces background noise no matter hooked with any BT headset.

I installed the UK English update today. SFSG. I upgraded to 1.6.7.1 last week, and noticed huge improvements in performance and stability. So far, 2.8.7.102 is just as fast. Only time will tell in regards to stability...more later.

I have reinstalled my collection of "can't live without" apps and everything is working.

Exchange and Activesync.

1. Direct Push email works well. I have disabled SMS & SMTP on the Exchange frontend server. Notification by HTTPS is much faster.

2. I tried a remote wipe of the device. Very slick. Within a few seconds of issuing the remote wipe from the Exchange front-end server, my device started to sync, rebooted, and when it came back up, was as if I had performed a hard reset.

3. I've played with security policies. I enabled a forced password in Exchange, and on the next sync, I was notified (on the PPC) that I must set a password.

The Lokiwiz02 created 2 files "locked" and "unlocked" and device rebooted but the update refuses to run.

haven't tried going back to old rom, but am using as has been asked earlier in this post the imate k-jam

as some know i tried the french rom yesterday and this evening have just loaded the wwe rom

the install stalled the first time but then offered to try again and worked fine.

complete run from 0% to 100% took 20 minutes, could alter dependent n speed of pc.
only done basic test reinstalled headphones & tomtom

TCPMP freezes and stutters on the wizard.

BatMemTime and Cal+ hardly work at all.
And the whole this runs so bloody slow.

Yes, but it sounds like your exchange server is not 'pushing'.

You'll know it's working because your device will fight hard to keep a GPRS connection open. As long as your exchange server has been setup to support ActiveSync, this is like adding a new feature, nothing more.

push-mail works well on these roms, but there are caveats - it sucks data big time - so go for a flat rate plan.

Ahh.... we tried this as well, and it DOESN'T work over WLAN (well, not for us anyway).

Try over GPRS, and sync 3 days worth @ 0.5k; shouldn't make your eyes water too much :lol:

Which operator are you using for GPRS? activesync uses https port 80, and if it's prepay wap it might not work correctly.

I use Voda UK. Contract but not their WAP APN (rather their 'internet' APN which is transparently proxied but does not casue me any problems over SSL normally).

I have no problem with normal polled over-the-air Exchange Active sync, which has been working on all the devices I manage for ages.

I've also enabled logging on the Direct Push OMA categoriser on the exchange server and it doesn't seem to be doing much routing so I suspect that the server is not 'aware' that there is a device capable of maintaining a direct push partnership. I have tried deleting the partnership on the server (using the mobileadmin management intranet thingy) and letting the device recreate it but to no avail, still no OMA Direct Push categoriser activity...

Prehaps I am subject to Beta bugs (somewhere along the line I seem to have forgotten that I am using a pre-release rom!). Prehaps I'll wait for a proper release. All the other MSFT stuff seems to work, including enforced secuirty polices and remote wipe. A2DP also works a treat, I intend to use it to listen to music this morning as I ride to work so that should prove a good 30 minute test!.

One last question for anyone who has direct push working - Do you get a 'as they arrive' or similar schedual setting when direct push is working on the device?

My experience as ( formal ) dutch t-mobile rom user

Installed the UK version just over my dutch tmobile ( original install )
as i had to carry my old ipaq 6340 for a2dp and could not wait any longer to have a2dp on my wizard.

in my enthousiasm i forgot to back up the extended rom but after reading the post at tweakers.net and applying the gprs settings + the cab
everything works fine ( gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1103676 )

Until now everything seems to be stable and my HT 820 works fine on the wizard. stereo music, voice commands, and all the buttons... only when using the wifi option at the wizard i get a drop in the stereo signal.
Tried it with overclocking, but that did not seem to change anything.

Installing the UK rom took me about 10 mins..


So a big thanks for the people who made it possible to run this one!

not found a way to remove it yet, but you can still set clock to move to the top line when you open a program. until then it is on the today screen.

it is quite clever, i have a password set, which now locks the screen at the set time, and the clock moves to the top bar.

Problem... when I run the MAUpgradeUt_NoID file to install the rom, it tells me it's missing RUU.dll.

This file doesn't come with the rom... is it a case of renaming one of them, or where do I get it? :-(

This ROM is DA BOMB. I've been using A2DP with my Motorola HT820 and Qtek 9100, and it's DA BOMB! Now I have to try push email this weekend!

The question I do have is while my new messages seem to synce in about 30 seconds or less, it does not always sync read/sent/moved messages for a few minutes. I don't see a way to configure it.

i noticed that the IPL has changed with this ROM. will the different IPL allow one to reflash to an "official ROM", e.g., T-Mobile Vario ROM update.

my initial observations:

- bluetooth headset seems to be much louder..
- speakerphone appears to be louder...
- menu speed appears to be the same - i have not performed any reg edits that impact menu speed.
- dial pad appears to be slightly more responsive.

of course as i use the phone over a period of time, my observations may change. i'll be testing the push email and stereo headset when i return home over the weekend. thanks to those brave souls who made this ROM available to our community (of testers)! :lol:

we currently have all our old (xda II) phones syncing every 60 minutes but we have just signed the contract with o2 for 25 MINI S devices and i would like to get push email up and running.... so in a nutshell: does push email use more data than say a manual sync every 60 minutes?

More observations:
1) The base ROM seems to be I-Mate x.x.x.x coz after doing upgrade and then hard-resetting your device (while initing) you will get Extended_ROM content of I-mate (imate_*.cab), but if you don't perform hard-reset then you will get qtek stuff in your Extended_ROM. The base ROM was customized using Qtek tools, but you can still access the base rom if needed

2) Customization part looks like tofclock's or buzz's and therefore can be changed in the same manner as for Himalaya WM5 (>1.6 or 1.7)

3) Radio when using base ROM seems to be unstable but when using qtek's ROM is Fine

4) RapiEnabling through latest aWizard tools gives Certificates Free Mode (aka WelcomeWarez) and speeds up overall device speed because OS doesn't need to check files before starting them

5) Radio module receives Area broadcasting messages (aka Message from Network) even if the feature is turned off in Phone's properties

I set it up to use exchange sync and once I disable ssl and enter my servers windows name e.g. the name missing the .com there are no sync errors and I see messages like syncing contacts 77/77 calendar 40/40 etc however no items actually appear on my device. My contacts are empty despite the fact it reported it synced 77 of them. How can this be?

Tried to update to this ROM but I get this "Error 302 : Update Error".
It does this after the PDA restarts itself with this colour bar screen at the beginning of the flash.
A recovery screen pops up and all I have to do is to remove the battery to get back to the old settings.

I also backed up my T-mobile extended ROM to my hard drive using aWizard..

Now how can I copy it back into my Extended Rom without effecting my OS update ????

contaygious: I don't think it is advisable to do a restore from a backup [you might mess up your registry etc...] also I heard that Sunnysoft's Backup solution is still not 100% WM5 compliant maybe it would be best to do a re-install.

Just a quick question. Our company mail system is based on Lotus Notes probably using the Domino server. My question is that will push e-mail work to retrieve Lotus Notes mails or does it strictly require Microsoft Exchange Server.

Our Company has a few Blackberry's and these are working great but just curious to know if the PPC will work as well once the new ROM is installed.

i restored everything except for the registry and not everything restored...none of my internet settings restored and my spb did not restore...most of the programs did not. I can't connect to activesynch and i cannot see anything in the remove programs.

For other apps w/o installers I have CAB files on standby which I just copy over to my device and run after all my Activesync based installs.

interesting, i understand the cab method but how do u use activesync to bulk install your files? does activesync keep like a record and all the files you have installed somewhere through activesync or something, how does this work as it would ease the pain of reinstalling all my apps one by one. I have installers for all my apps in one location and I do not usually delete the install files

Activesync does keep a record/list of files you have installed using your PC.

Having used this new rom for the last two days, i experienced a the following issues:

- Alarm clock did not go off when set
- Memory leaks resulting in pages not refreshing (pressing the messaging hardware button and the page not refreshing)
- On board keyboard occasionally displayed half off the screen

Apart from that was very pleased with it and I look forward to the non beta version

Push-mail is just for Exchange 2003 sp2. Earlier versions of exchange have pullmail. Microsoft does NOT support any other mail platform out of the box - you need to use intellisync, goodlink or visto for that.

Confirm it works well on push on our Exch. 2k3 Sp2 - seeing around 11 seconds from initiating a message outside the exchange system and getting delivered to the device :D

Could you tell me how you got the files from the aWizard backup back into the Extended ROM?? Were there any special unlocking utilities you used and which file manager did you use?. I only ask as it's reported that the extended ROM is now write protected with ROMs 1.6.x.x or above??? and when I've tried copying files from my Awizard backup I get cannot write to media errors???

previously, i used the most recent Qtek rom and had Active Sync synchronise every 15mins with my Exchange Server (4smartphone.net). this worked great, and if i wanted to download an attachment, i clicked on download and immediately the active sync/gprs logo started whirring away and i would have the attachment........also, if i created a new email and clicked send, it would immediately send

i have now loaded the WWE test rom and set the sync to 'as items arrive' and i can concur with others that emails arrive on their own and pretty quick..........but...........if i click on download an attachment, it just sits there until either a new email comes in (and therefore it syncs everything including the attachment download) or if i manually click on 'sync' in active sync it will initiate the download......also, sending a new email seems to only initiate after a few minutes or again, a manual sync......

another thing i noticed is that sent items are not stored even though i have selected the option to store sent items and also the 'manage folders' option is greyed out meaning i can't select the sub folders i would like to have also on the device.........

Just updated my o2 XDA Mini S, very please, push email works great, the only thing I've notice is the key mapping is incorrect. All the letters & numbers are correct, but one or two of the shifted characters ie @ are incorrect.

Is there a way to correct this?

One other thing I'd like to change is moving the Battery icon back down to the bottom of the screen. Any ideas ?

I had to renable the AUTD exchange feature on my user account in AD, not enable AUTD on the mobile services dialog in ESM. The lack of enabled AUTD exchnage feature on my account removed the 'as items arrive' option from th e schedual options on the device, which, in turn, stopped direct push from pushing to the device!

I had to renable the AUTD exchange feature on my user account in AD, not enable AUTD on the mobile services dialog in ESM. The lack of enabled AUTD exchnage feature on my account removed the 'as items arrive' option from th e schedual options on the device, which, in turn, stopped direct push from pushing to the device!

thanks for reply, but I do have the 'as items arrive' option on the device and new emails do appear to appear quickly.....it's just I cannot 'manage folders' or download attachments automatically

can anyone who has push working confirm the following for me:-

1 is 'manage folders' greyed out under 'tools' in inbox

2 is 'send and receive' greyed out in inbox

3 to download an attachment, does it start the active sync as soon as you click on 'get rest of message' or 'download attachment'

4 when you creat an email and click 'send' does it start syncing straightaway

there are so many good points about this rom that I don't want to go back!

perhaps it's just that it's a beta version?

My manage folders menu itme is _not_ greyed out. My send recive is also _not_ greyed out and when i send maisl the device starts syncing and the mail goes off straight away.

solved the problem!

I hard reset and did the 1st sync via gprs and not via active sync / PC.....for some reason, the 1st time I active sync'd via the pc / exchange using the pc thru connection it disabled all the options I mentioned earlier....

now everything is fine as Tintoy said...

It's a bit late for me to suggest it now but you mights have tried deleting the partnership first (removing the partnership on the device using active sync->options and also on the exchnage server using the modile admin web interface)

When using the O2 XDA Mini S with the new WWE rom, the pull out keyboard has all the special characters in the wrong place. ie. 'blue circle button' + A, should give '!'...however it returns an @

Anyone solved this problem? Its starting to drive me nuts! :)

Bonjour tout le monde,
Aprés la sortie de la nouvelle ROM j'ai cherché comment l'installer sur un SPV M3000 ORANGE.Jusque la l'installation été impossible : Matériel imcompatible.

Je vais vous décrire la marche a suivre :

Tout d'abord télécharger ce petit programme qui vous permettra de désimlocker votre SPV M3000 source de l'impossibilité d'installation d'autres ROM.

Lockwiz (http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=8415)

L'extraire sur l'ordinateur dans un dossier quelconque.
Une fois extrait envoyer le fichier enablerapi.cab sur votre SPV avec la connection activesync et le lancer et attendre la fin de l'installation.

Installation fini sur le SPV lancer maintenant Lokiwiz.bat sur l'ordinateur en ayant fait attention a desactiver tout firewall et antivirus.Sinon l'unlockage ne fonctionne pas.

Une fenetre s'ouvre tapez U et "entrer" attendez que le portable redemarre, une fois redemarré refaire la manipulation tout en étant connecter a activesync lancez Lokiwiz.bat et cette fois ci tapez C puis "entrer".Le portable redemarre et il est maintenant unlocker.

N'oubliez pas que le changement de ROM ou mise a jour de ROM provoque l'effacement de toutes vos donnés donc faites un backup avant.

Toujours se connecter a activesync
et télécharger cette ROM

Une fois téléchargé Lancer le fichier et suivre toute les instructions (cocher les cases et cliquez sur mettre a jour)

L'installation prendra mois de 10 minutes.

A la fin de l'installation le portable redemarrera tout seul et vous verez alors apparaitre Qtek.

i've noticed a few oddities with the new push email function

previously, i used the most recent Qtek rom and had Active Sync synchronise every 15mins with my Exchange Server (4smartphone.net). this worked great, and if i wanted to download an attachment, i clicked on download and immediately the active sync/gprs logo started whirring away and i would have the attachment........also, if i created a new email and clicked send, it would immediately send

i have now loaded the WWE test rom and set the sync to 'as items arrive' and i can concur with others that emails arrive on their own and pretty quick..........but...........if i click on download an attachment, it just sits there until either a new email comes in (and therefore it syncs everything including the attachment download) or if i manually click on 'sync' in active sync it will initiate the download......also, sending a new email seems to only initiate after a few minutes or again, a manual sync......

another thing i noticed is that sent items are not stored even though i have selected the option to store sent items and also the 'manage folders' option is greyed out meaning i can't select the sub folders i would like to have also on the device.........

i am on vodafone UK contract, have an exchange server deal with 4smartphone and have set sync up in active sync settings for 'as items arrive'.............

any ideas??

i agree the rom is MUCH quicker but the above quirks are a bit of a let down compared to the beauty of Push............

i saw someone re-enabled AUTD but i thought that Push didn't require this???

I don't have the same behaviour that you (at the present time evething still working like in the past but with the push). ie. element send immediatly or full mail downladed when I select download entire message.

But concerning your send I noticed that too (no more send stored locally). But send elements are stored on the server, so to have it locally you need to sync this sub-folder...

FIX FOR O2 XDA MINI S - KEYBOARD SPECIAL CHARACTERS PROBLEM

Download and install TotalCommander CE, for pocketpc. This requires a simple registry edit.

Once installed fire up the program and navigate to:

\\\registry\HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd

Then on the row of icons above 'file, show,'; the furthest to the right is kind of a page with a finger pointing. Click this.

For the name enter 'Locale', the type is 'String'. It will then ask for the contents for <Locale>:

Enter '0809' for English united kingdom, o2 xda mini s basically. To search for your country code go to:

The values are in the first column, HEX.

Now close down totalcommander, hold in the power button for 3 seconds until it asks if you wish to shutdown, select yes. Power the device back on eh voila!

I am using 4smartphone.net and am getting my emails pushed to me in less thn 60 seconds.

It may be my imagination, but the camera seems to work better, especially in low light.

is the certificate still installed? Because after the ROM update I would imagine everything is wiped so it would probably wipe the cert that you installed too. I would check that out before anything.

Overall, pretty good ROM. Did not install for push, since we are on crappy domino server :) been using intellisync wireless email express, flawless.

Installed mainly for A2DP. Working fine, occasional hickup, but better than nothing!

Anyone notice mem at 6MB free while using Media Player in BT Stereo Headset? Even from clean boot, if all I do is enable BT HS and play muzak, program mem drops to 6MB. A Little much don't you think?

I just was poking around and found an event named HttpDog that I do not remember seeing before. Is this a notification tied to push? In Mem Maid I can see \\.\Notifications\NamedEvents\HttpDog in Check Notifications it give the name and a key.

Searched the reg and no results, google didn't turn up much and the search on xda had nothing.

update edit: It does seem to be connected to ActiveSync (therefore push?), kill AS and it goes away, when you restart AS the key changes.

I almost thought it was something in the newest 5.35 resco version, I didn't want an auto update util running on the background taking resources and gprs data....

Is there no way to make the phone understand that when I turn the headset on I always want to stream it with bluetooth. In settings for my bluetooth devices I have ticked the "wireless stereo" and the "hands free" for the device but it does not help. As soon as I want to listen to something I need to go to the settings "right click" on my device and set it as wireless stereo.

Anyone else experienced the same problem or is it just me? I have a qtek 9100.

Yup same problem. What stereo bluetooth headphone do you have? Mine is the Itech S35 and I have a clip S, seems from what I have read it is with the Itech's because I think someone said that this was not an issue with the Motorola. Anyone else?

afaik the T-Mobile name of the Wizard is MDA Vario. Please check the device name (in device information or the battery compartment. If it shows WIZA200 this rom isfor you, otherwise: do not try it

I believe if you have an option to sync tasks via the Exhange Server, you will have SP2 installed. That was the most noticeable change for me when our server was upgraded.

No there is no blackberry client app for WM5. (as far as I know)

Do mail2web actually have Exchange 2003 SP2? It doesn't seem to say anywhere that it does. It mentions merging email accounts "as it arrives" into the mail2web account, but its not clear if this is then pushed to your phone.

I do know that 4smartphone.net do Exchange 2003 SP2 and do a free trial.

I just noticed that a new ROM was posted on buzzdev that includes AKU2 finally!!

It's in french, but I don't mind as I'm fluent in french ;) At least it's a start...

The version is 2.8.7.102 with radio ROM 1.13.10, but the file date is december 5th 2005 inside the EXE. Seems rather old... 2 months old...

I just want to know if anybody tried it so far and what are the improvements. I know it should have stereo bluetooth and push email, but anything else interesting? I already did an 1.6.7 update a few weeks ago, and reinstalling every program is a PITA... I wish we could do an update without hard resetting... or is there a good backup program that is actually restoring programs and registry in WM5?

After some quick replies from you guys, it seems to be a working test version released for the Qtek 9100. So before using it, you must unlock your device if it's not a wonderfull Qtek, but you knew that ;) It does work, but there might be some issues (like memory leaking, etc.) similar to a beta version. It's dated from december 5th 2005, so not the latest, but must of us here don't mind since it's finally AKU2 for the wizard!

It didn't took too long for someone to appear with an english ROM, impressive. Kudos for the original poster on buzzdev and to the poster of the english and danish ROMs. Now we can all enjoy it. How long before other languages pop up? :)

On the dutch pocketpc-club an article was posted that the new AKU2 ROM will most likely NOT contain A2DP. They say reliable sources have said that A2DP has too many disturbances, interruptions etc. to include in the official release of AKU2.

Support for A2DP would be postponed till AKU2.2 :evil:

Can somebody confirm this?

And how are the experiences of our users which have A2DP working? (and with what headset)

Is everyone else having this problem? I would love to find a solution as it seriously impedes the value of the added functionality the new push solution provides. The old SMS triggered system was a bit slower and a bit flakier but at least I knew (most of the times) when received an email. If this is MS's solution to true push, I am not buying it.

If someone has a solution, I would love to hear it. Otherwise, I sincerely hope this is a function of the test ROM.

I do not use vibraye, just a sound. it plays the sound alert for me both in and out of standby. I do not use vibraye, just a sound. it plays the sound alert for me both in and out of standby. The trouble is that vibrate used to work before I upgraded to push email. WM 5.0 does support it -- I think there is a problem with the push upgrade. Kind of silly if you are a business user because I can't think of anyone that uses a sound for a notification of an incoming email.

Remember, the push upgrade that MS provided is just the internet connection (silent http connection) to the activesync server (Exchange). It has nothing to do with how the phone does local notification. It is not MS fault how the notification is implemented. In this case, if HTC wants to support vibrate as one of the notification options, it will. I suspect that they will do it or if not, we may make enough of a stink about it to get them to support it.

Hallo bartp. ich verstehe nicht warum du keine antwort bekommen hast, aber hier ist es.

For anyone else who has had the same problem as we did, follow these simple instructions:

First download lokiwiz v2b. Don't use previous versions or you'll not get through this!!

Hard reset your device (not necessary, but it ensures you'll have no hassle with Activesync).

Done that? Good. Extract the lokiwiz v2b .zip folder and copy enablerapi.cab to your memory card or to 'My Documents' folder on your device. Then execute the 'enablerapi.cab'.

Done? Just switch off the device (power button; put it in standby mode).

If you have Activesync already installed, un-install it and re-install directly afterwards (ensure a brand new partnership).

Then when prompted by Activesync, plug in your USB cable PC-PPC and it should recognise as usual.

Then execute the lokiwiz.bat file (in the folder that was generated earlier when you extracted the lokiwiz02b.zip file) and when you see the MS Dos (black screen) choose the option CID Unlock (SuperCID) and wait for it to COMPLETELY finish. You'll know it's finished when your Wizard is re-booting. Plug out your USB cable at this stage.

Once re-booted and back into WM5, re-connect your cable and if all goes well it should re-connect to Active Sync (wait till it has finished syncing or says connected!).

Finally......double click the executable file, which should be:
RUU_Prodigy_1060701_101_11310_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe
Hopefully it will now install the ROM without hiccups (about 10 minutes).

Sorry to you gurus for the lengthy explanation, but some of us are still relatively inexperienced to this and a thorough (if you can call it that) explanation of the processes will really be appreciated. I certainly have done when some of guys broke it down to me in the past.

I'm hoping this ROM will not dissapoint me as the others have done, as I've been getting quite frustrated and angry about the whole WM5 & HTC thing.

On the dutch pocketpc-club an article was posted that the new AKU2 ROM will most likely NOT contain A2DP. They say reliable sources have said that A2DP has too many disturbances, interruptions etc. to include in the official release of AKU2.

Support for A2DP would be postponed till AKU2.2 :evil:

Can somebody confirm this?

And how are the experiences of our users which have A2DP working? (and with what headset)
Otherwise I will not install the official ROM and use the ROM of this topic instead.

I am working fine with the current rom... who says we have to change - I won't unless future updates add a lot more.

I don't see anything that will prevent from doing so. Except for hardware bluetooth class difference :-))) The "bthutil.dll" file in older Wizard's ROM has something to do with A2DP output. Therefore, comparing bluetooth registries of new ROM vs OLD will reveal needed info
