Hi all:
--
I was wondering which BT Stereo Headset [not headphones meaning I can make calls etc] you guys are using with your HTC Wizard or any A2DP device for that matter.
--
My criteria:
1) can be used well with my dopod 838
2) fits well [this is subjective]
3) doesn't move around when I turn my head
4) good battery performance
5) price is not much of an issue
--
I am looking at the following Headsets:
1) Motorola HT820
2) iPhono PLUS BT420Rx
3) iPhono mini BT450Rx
4) iTech S35
5) iTech R35
--
I put the iTech's at 4 and 5 because even if they are BT headsets they still have wires danggling about in other words they are psuedo-wireless :P.
--
So what are your thoughts about these headsets? Any other headsets I should be looking at? Personal experiences, Links to reviews and/or online shops are welcome. Thanks in advance :D

Was in a mall last night and was told by an okley sunglasses salesperson that they will have a sunglasses/stereo BT headset for music phones soon. Be about $225us I was also told if and when they do come out.

probably a variant of the RAZR wire also from Moto/Oakley [which was an MP3 + shades solution] the problem is I have glasses [thick ones at that... I dunno if the ones you are talking about will have prescription lenses :(

After reading the reviews around a bit i finally decided to go with these:

Finally! just received the i-phono 450rx
It works! And might I say, quite beautifully too.
Very decent sound quality (playing music now) I'm test-wearing it now and it's still pretty comfortable after 2 hours use.
There is a very slight hiss, only audible when no sound is playing.
The phone-headset function is not fantastic but people can understand me and i understand them. So what more do i want?
Bought it for playing music anyway.
I'm not really sure what a 8125 is, but if it's a "HTC wizard-device" it should work with the latest rom.
edit:
I just saw this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42569
its about a2dp and your 8125, you might get it to work without a rom ugrade

Finally got my own stereo bt headsets. Got myself an iTech Blueband [it looks the same as the Sonorix and ANYCOM headsets] it works with the Qtek Test ROM although sometimes the music cuts in and out. Also it is not as comfortable [for my ears atleast]

CodeMonkey
I have the 450rx and according to the manual there is no way to actually initiate the voice dialing from the headset itself. I havent got the manual with me atm but from memory it said something like: For voice dialing, you must initiate the voice dial function from the handset and then you can talk into the microphone to tell the phone / pda who to call etc.
So, technically it is sort of possible, but i would prefer not to have to press the voice dial button on the K-JAM as it sort of defeats the purpose of using the voice dial function. Even though i have only just got the 450rx (and can't use it as i-mate still hasn't released A2DP) i am already on the lookout for a stereo headset that has PROPER voice dial.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the feedback Puckster.
I've contacted Bluetake and strongly suggested they might want to build this feature in. It's a real shame as the 450rx form factor looked bang on for my needs (and my ears).

Using Motorola, but going to buy BT450RX, because of more convenience of wire between ears not hard plastic.
I'm using it with pda2k, works pretty good except couple glitches I can still live with

I want to get the bt450rx, but am still waiting on the ROM update for my wizard with A2DP. I could get the bt420tx dongle to go with it I know that it has a 3.5mm plug, but I can get an adapter from pocketpctechs.com. Should this work? I don't care too much about adding extra size to my phone because when I use this headset, it will be put away in my purse or pocket.
Does anyone make an A2DP BT adapter for existing headphones? I'd love to just have a little rechargable device that I can plug my Shures into and stash my wizard in my bag. I can't seem to find anything like this, you'd think it would be an obvious product. Bonus if it has a mic and talk/end button!

Try these out:
1) Qstarz BH-Q392s (http://www.qstarz.com/products/bh-q392s.aspx)
2) Nokia HS-12W (http://www.europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,,83227,00.html?s=HS-12W)
3) Sony HBH-DS970 (http://www.sonyericsson.com/HBH-DS970/spg.jsp?cc=global&lc=en&ver=4001&template=pg2&zone=pg&pid=94)
4) iTech S38 (http://www.kjc-tech.com/Clip_S38.cfm)
Some of them come with headphone supplied but all allow you to use other standard headphones via 3.5mm connector. Some have extended functionality such as AVRCP but I know iTech do other "Clips" that can accept normal headphones without AVRCP.

THANK YOU!
Now why couldn't I find these in my googling efforts earlier?
Actually after checking some reviews, I think I'm going to go with one you didn't mention. The Globalsat GBH-820 (http://www.semsons.com/glbtblhe.html) It seems to have great reviews, a longer battery life (mini usb charger too) and the price is right (especially since I can buy from semsons, I wanted a gps from there anyways).
Thank you again, so much!
EDIT: Just ended up buying the GBH-820 and an i-Blue GPS receiver from buy GPS now. About $145 with 3 day shipping (after 5% off coupon). Not a bad deal, IMO! Now to revert back to the test ROM so I can use A2DP. :?

Hi there,
I have my iTech S35 lying arounf since over a month, just saw that for my German o2 ROM there is still no update so I will take the Qtek and will post a review of how the iTech works with the o2 XDA mini S later...
However I did try it with a Samsung D600 and it was pretty sweet! The good thing really is that you can use your own headphones, ans the microphone is on the cord exactly where the adapter to 3,5mm is.
I use Sony in-ear headphones (they have a perfectly short cord!).
However the S35 version does NOT have any contol buttons for the music!
As soon as the SonyEriccson some out (see on the list above), they will be by far the best!!!
The Nokia look sweet but so not have multi-device option. THAT will be the future though, I am sure the next Ipod will have A2DP.
With multi-device A2DP you will be able to leave phone and DAp in you pockets/bag, so it will be handy to have a headset that has music control buttons as well as a LCD.
The second best option at the moment is the Plantronics Pulsar 590A. I think its much better than the Motorola. It comes in a nice package (docking station, 3,5mm A2DP dongle,...) and gets very good reviews.
If you prefer normal headphone style, have a look at it!

OK, I finally got my iTech s35 to work as well, I always forget the long-hold pop-up option, to me thats never really obvious to know when to use it and if there are any options... but thats another topic.
I run the 2.17 ROM (Qtek update) and installed the A2DP hack .cab file.
No further adjustments were necessary!
With the iTech stereo music works well, also voice dial and incoming calls (all activated simultanously).
For those interested I noticed however that in comparison with a wired 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter there is NO real bass and with high tones (e.g. Seal: Love's divine), there is a kind of "ringing" (like using really bad speakers).
I used the same headphones both times (s35 headset also has a 3.5mm adapter) for comparison.
Thus quality is worse than using wired headset, definitely nothing for audiophiles, but for normal use absolutely OK, now it would be interesting to know if the headset or phone is at fault.
I might be able to check that with a Samsung D600, but only have that one headset available...
Using in-ear headphones (!!!)
Oh, although I dig the Sony in-ear headphones which I can use now (as they offer good performance and don't cause pain even when wearing them for hours, they are NOT good for talking, as your voice sounds very strange to yourself due to the blocked ear channels!!!
Outgoing voice
I was surprised by the outgoing voice, people I called said its very clear, the mic of the s35 works VERY good even when hanging quite far away, a big plus!

I'm close to getting the BT450rx from bluetake but I just noticed the new Jabra BT620 but I haven't been able to find any reviews on it. I prefer the headsets that wrap around the back of my head as they seem more stable during excercise but all the other headsets seem a bit oversized. Anyone have any experience with the Jabra's new bluetooth stereo headset? Thanks!

Just got my Jabra BT620s yesterday and I must say I was more impressed than I expected to be... The clarity is excellent (Bass is a little indestinct and high end volume is slightly low but otherwise spot on) and volume is reasonable with Pocket WMP. Using them with a PC is perfect when set up with an equalizer and volume on the PC raised.
I have managed to get Microsoft Voice working virtually 100% although it does require reasonable timing to press the left earpiece button twice, first to activate MS Voice (But also activates phone headset mode) and second time to re-activate the A2DP gateway.
I have also found that when using Pocket WMP on the headsets you can turn the device off with the power button but Media Player continues to work. This results in my device using LESS power with bluetooth activated than it seemed to with a set of normal headphones and the screen on. Just goes to show how much power the backlight uses. That said, I have just updated my ROM to Summiters AKU 2.2 and this seems to be very frugal with battery usage even compared to the latest AKU 2.0 (It also boots from a soft reset in only around 25 secs!).
Hope you enjoy your set of Jabra's as much as I am doing......
Oh, by the way, I purchased mine from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/accessoriesforu for £49.95 including shipping and they came a day later. Excellent price and service if you ask me! I'm using the Bluetake i-PHONO mini (BT-450RX) with a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard) and summiter's latest 2.3 ROM.
Music and phone headset sound is good. Mic pickup is good (finally, my wife isn't complaining she can't hear me).
Only problem I have is that the pause/play/stop functions using the headset buttons don't work. Volume up and down work fine (but I think it's local in the headset, as none of the 8125 volume indicators change when changing the volume), and next track/previous track work fine.
Anyone else using these with an 8125 see the same thing? I'm trying to figure out if the pause/play/stop functions just won't work with the 8125, or if something is wrong with my headset or configuration.

Never mind. Solution turned out to be RTFM. Pressing the top button once (quickly) while music is playing does a "stop". Pressing the bottom button (quickly) - i.e. the thumbwheel - does a "play". There was a way listed to do a "pause", but that doesn't seem to work. stop/play is enough for me, so I'm happy.
BTW - I've been wearing these for 3.5 hrs straight now, while on a conference call, and they've been comfortable the whole time. I'm expecting the battery in my 8125 will give out before the battery in the headset.

I'm wanting to get something like this to use in my car, which has a 3.5mm input, but I want something I can power off the car's 12v system, so I don't have to carry it inside to recharge. It sounds like this Globalsat could be powered using my Boxwave 12v to USB adapter and a standard USB-to-miniUSB cable. Does that sound right?
Does anyone know the specifics of the power connectors of the other units? I checked the web pages and could tell for sure what type of connectors they were using.
Using Jabra bt 620s on Qtek 8310. One word: superb.

ok after a little while of use heres what i think so far in a pros and cons list:
Pros:
- Even though they are kind of weak in the volume category the sound quality is Great. Alot better then the ones that comes with my phone (Which is a TMobile mda US version with the latest AKU 2.3 rom).
- The quality is pretty decent and the look pretty sweet if you dont mind the size.
- connected to my phone on the first try.
- comes with little carrying pouch :P
- Price wasnt too bad. Paid $76 shipped.
- comes with extra cusions
Cons:
- Pretty goofy looking. Its sticks out a lil too much on the sides
- once in a while it would cut ouy during music play.
over all they are pretty decent if i can get it to work 100% meaning no skipping and cutting out. And they werent so big. im happy though because can go to the gym with no wires.

I went ahead and ordered a Globalsat GBH-820. The mini-USB power connector is great, and even better - it came with a cable that has regular USB on one end, and _two_ mini-USBs at the other end. So, I can use my car charger to charge the GBH-820 and my 8125 at the same time.
I connected the GBH-820 to my Sony 3.5mm to cassette adapter in my car. At first the sound was terrible - no bass, high-end hiss, distortion across the whole spectrum. I switched from WMP to TCPMP, and used TCPMP's equalizer to make some corrections, and the quality improved significantly. Today, on a whim, I tried WMP again, and it seems to be doing better now (I have no idea why that would happen).
With WMP, all of the AVRCP functions work with the GBH-820. With my iPHONO mini's, I can get stop/play/next/prev to work, but not pause.
With TCPMP, none of the AVRCP functions work, but the music does stop playing when a call is received or made.
With the GBH-820, if the phone is on and BT enabled, as soon as the GBH-820 is turned on, the "Wireless Stereo" profile automatically activates, but the "Hands-free" profile does not. With the iPHONO mini's, when they are turned on, the "Hands-free" profile automatically activates, but the "Wireless Stereo" does not. Go figure.

Hi!
1- copy these five files in your windows folder using activesync
2- install Tor_A2DP_cert by double clicking on it
3-install Tor_A2DP by double clicking on it
4-soft reset and enjoy
By the way,be sure that your rom have AKU(mine is 2.17).
Also note that after installation, you have to pair your headset and before launching wmp,you have to push the start button on the headset and the wizard will reply with an icon like a headst to confirm that everything is ok.
Files sent to your pm.

Couldn't resist grabbing myself the HT820 on the cheap on ebay. Paired with my TmoMDA with no issues to both hands free and stereo profiles. Works great for phone calls, both incoming and outgoing sounds great, even on a street (noise cancelling?). Comfort is decent for about an hour or two, then starts to get hard on the ears. Might get some padding or something later.
Main problem is the stereo music quality or the lack thereof. The music sounds like you're listening to it through a pillow. It was a night and day difference when compared to quite nice sounding stereo profile on Jensen WBB100 (which were returned due to not functioning with hands free profile at all). The other issue is the random interrupts in music playing, which seems to be fairly common for most people regardless of headset or phone.
If anyone else can comment on the stereo quality of HT820s I'd greatly appreciate it :)

I like itech the most, because I can use my favorite earbud (I use PSP earbud with it), sound quality is exceptionally good
moto is good, but I have problem with rear-headband headphones (wired and wireless)
Plantronics has not come yet

I just bought the moto HT820 but then I read this...
Please note: Although the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth Headphones will function as a Bluetooth headset with the majority of Bluetooth phones, Bluetooth music streaming is only supported with phones supporting Bluetooth V2.0 and profile A2DP.
Does that mean that they wont play mp3 music? I hope it does because thats the main reason I bought them!

plantronics 590a is pretty good
it has full bass, balanced mid and treble
the included audio adaptor can be used with moto HT820 and logi
just after 2 days of use, I found a tiny crack on the rear headband, used krazy glue (the only thing I can get here) to fix
note: the bt audio adaptor for logi CANNOT BE USED with other clients

I just got the ht820, it sounds grat but doesnt fit my head. I have a small head but its not shrunken by any means. I wish they were adjustable. Thankfully a guy at works wants them. I am either going to for the plantronics or the iclip.

I also recommend logitech wireless headphones
but you need to put reinforcement on the headband to prevent breaking, PERIOD!
it has pretty good audio, but notorious headband breaking problem prevent it for good product
however, with some simple procedure, you can save the headband
a 8mm x 50mm plastic strip cut from plastic card (unused credit card OK)
Krazy glue
nylon packing tape for wrapping
if you found the headband is cracked/broken, you need to apply Krazy glue to fix the breaking first
then apply a small amount of Krazy glue on the plastic strip, or use scotch tape to hold the plastic strip close together
apply Krazy glue slowly on the gap till it's filled, you may want to use paper towel to wipe away the excess
wrap with nylon tape over the plastic strip
now the headband is reinforced, that reduces the chance of breaking, and enjoy the great sound of logitech wireless headphones

How come nobody has mentioned the Jensen WBT-212 headphones? They fold so they aren't nearly as bulky as the fixed headband, are more comfortable, and work really well. They have the phone mic and interrupt for a call extremely well.
I sent back a pair of HP's--real junk. These cost far less and work better. They even come with USB charger cords as well as wall chargers--for both the phones AND the B/T adapter (which I never seem to need).
I recently updated my MDA with the T-Mobile "Official" flash and have been delighted with the improvement. The A2DP works just fine with the Jensens, and, once I finally got the GPS icon to show itself (simple hack), I was able to get the Garmin GPS 10 to synch with it. It also synchs nicely with a new Mercedes Motorola V-60 Blue Tooth adapter, so the CDMA V-60 in the car is being retired.
Finally, with everything working, the HP IPAQ 6315 is being retired. I got SO sick of having to re-boot every day because something would lock up.
Happily, the Jensens work with the IPAQ as well--the HPs didn't--single volume, even the headset hard controls did nothing, and none of the soft ones on the IPAQ worked either. The Jensens, though have been great.
I saw them on Buy.com and figured "What the heck!" --I had already sent the HPs back.

I have used a lot of older bluetooth headsets in the past. I have had my Motorola H700 for about a month now and really like it a lot, even as a longtime bluetooth user. The range and sound quality are of good quality for bluetooth. I like the fact that it shuts off when you fold it up so that the problem of picking up the phone and having the call in the headset is reduced.
!!!BEWARE!!!
Most of the H700's being sold on ebay are FAKES and from what IU understand there is almost no way to tell the difference externally. I have concluded that avid ebayer that I am the best way to buy one of these is from a reputable store even though the price is way too high.
I have read reviews that slam the H700 for having poor outgoing sound quality. It is true that the placement of the mic is poor BUT there is no problem if you position the headset correctly. I have helped several people use my H700 and in every case there was a way to position the headset so that the mic was unobstructed and the outgoing sound quality good.
Overall, it is the best headset that I have used to date.

I cannot get my Wizard (Cingular 8125) to work with the Jabra head set. When I press the left button, I get the Mircosoft Voice feature on but not the WMP. Two questions:
- what version on ROM are you running?
- when you paired the phone and the headset, did the "wireless stereo" feature come up?
Excellent price and service if you ask me! go for the hbh ds970 from sony ericsson, good sound, music and call handling, just a small stick around your neck, the only backdraw, making calls with this set makes your voice sound weird, 90 - 100 euro's, the earpiece cushion closes the ear...

Just got a Plantronix Pulsar 590 to use with my Wizard (using Molski AKU 2.6 30Mb rom). Had some noise and skipping issues until I decided to use the Battery Status today plugin to overclock the device to 260Mhz. Sound quality very much improved, no skips yet. Seems that the default Omap clock speed can;t handle A2DP very well.

iTech R35 and Plantronic 590A.
Both have good sound quality and don't skip when using pocket player. I use the 590A at home (it was my first headset) but I didn't like the fact that it had that flashing blue light as it looked quite weird in public, so I just got the R35s yesterday and have been quite happy with them so far. After downloading a plugin for Pocket Player the Play/Pause functions work, as well as forward back and the volume Much more descrete, but haven't really gotten a chance to test the call quality that much. I think that will depend on how far the mic is away from your face, but I have read the mic is quite sensative, so you can hold it far away.

My previous headset just died (Jabra JX10) because it got turned into a cat "chewtoy" (my cat likes the little blinky blue lights...anyone want a cat? 8). So, I had to get a new one, and I stumbled across the Jabra BT8010:
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/MainMenu/Products/MobileMusic/JabraBT8010/JabraBT8010
Since I was also looking for some good bluetooth headphones that weren't big and bulky, these really appealed to me. Apparently they haven't been officially released in the US yet, but I found them for sale form a few online vendors (www.blueshop.com). Since it's a European model, the include an adapter so you can charge the headset with the included AC adapter.
It can work as either a standalone headset, or you can attach the second earpiece via a cord and voila, stereo headset!
Sound quality is pretty good. Bass is probably not as deep as some headphones, but it's good enough for me. They are not in-ear headphones, so you do get some background noise. It has a jog wheel for volume control..works ok, but it's a little stiff. I'm sure that will work out in time.
I do get some skipping, but it could be just local interference. I'm still working through all the combinations of settings to find the right balance of registry settings. I haven't paired it with my PC yet to see if I get the skipping there also.
It's got limited AVCRP functionality also. You can pause, start/stop, and skip to the next song. No way to move back a song though. Maybe in a future firmware update...
It has a menu system on the side, a phone book, and a recent call history. You can also change a few other settings, like brightness, turn vibrate on/off, change eqalizer settings. It even has a theme/skin setting, but I'm not sure where to get additional skins, or why you would want to...
Battery life seems to be pretty good. They advertise up to 10 hours of talk time, and up to 6 hours listening to music. So far, I haven't had a chance to use it that long. Oh, did I mention that the OLED has a battery level indicator?
Works OK as a headset also. Sound volume when used as a headset is pretty good. Not the loudest that I've heard, but the volume level is directly related to the volume level of my 8125, so I'm still finding the right balance.
Seems to work OK with MS voice command 1.6 (which now works over BT btw). I can press the call button, then say something like "call joe blow at home" and it does a pretty good job of recognizing my commands.
So far, my only issue is that after ending a phone call, the headset sets itself to "music mode". If I want to make another call, I have to press the "mode" button to change modes. Not a big deal, but can be confusing. I'm trying to figure out how to open a ticket with Jabra to report this as a bug.
It has a DSP on it also. Assuming this is similar or hopefully better than the one in the JX10. I haven't made too many calls yet so I don't know how I sound to the person on the other end. I'll try to remember to post back after I've used it some more.
Oh, also, another good feature. You can upgrade the firmware of this headset. There was already and update out there when I got the phone. I went ahead and put it on as soon as I saw it, so I really can't compare the two versions fo the firmware.
It's fairly comfortable. I've got some pretty big ears, and it's a bit tricky to get the headset(s) on, but they are pretty comfortable once they are on. I think this will become easier as I get used to them and the parts loosen up some. Total weight is around 37grams, but I really can't tell that they are on.
Overall impression, damn good headset. Glad I bought it. And my cat had better stay away from this headset.

Hi,
I had a H700 aswell but did sell it back.
If it was closed and I received a call, unfolding the headset didn't take the call and I wasn't able to get the call on the headset.
Does it works for you or do you have to keep the H700 open ?

Hi dfield,
I was planning to buy a JX10 and seing the 8010 from Jabra aswell make me hesitating a lot. So I'm very much interested by your feedback.
How does the bigger and heavier 8010 feel compare to the JX 10 ?
Is the 8010 well integrated with your windows mobile device ?
Do you see the caller id on the headset screen or just the number ?
Does work dialing works fine with the tags of the WM5 device or only with the 30 numbers stored in the 8010 ?
Is the 8010 globally confortable ?
Thanks for your responses.

Pascal,
The BT8010 is a bit bigger than the JX10, but it's not that much of an increase. I can still wear it comfortably for conversations or to listen to music. Also, when you're listening to music using both ear pieces, the total weight is not that bad. Much lighter and more comfortable than the Motorola HT820's.
That said, it is a bit trickier to put on. You kind of have to move the earclip out so that you can slide on to your ear (course, i've got big ears...8). I didnt' have to do that with the JX10. It just kinda went in place. Part of this is due to the fact that on the BT8010, the clip is closer to the back of the phone than it is on the JX10. If you look at the pictures in the link you might be able to see what I'm talking about.
It integrates well with the WM5 on the 8125. I've got MS Voice Command 1.6, which now works over bluetooth, and this headset works very well with it..with a couple of catches:
o - The headset has two modes of operation, hands free, and stereo headphones ("music" mode).
o - If you have a WM5 phone, and you don't have A2DP set up, it works great as a headset, possibly better than the JX10. In this case, the headset works in hands free mode only.
o - If you have a WM5 phone, and you have enabled A2DP, then the headset works in both the hands free and stereo headphone mode. And this is where the catch comes in. The headset tends to want to stay in "music" mode, so when you press the button to place a call via Voice Command, it doesn't do anything. You have to press a button on the headset to change modes, before you press the button to place a call. Not that big of a deal really. Sometimes it gets confused though and doesn't work, and I'm sure whether it's the phone or the headset that's getting confused. I think the phone must have something to do with it though in the way that it play's rigtones/accouncements/etc. When this happens I usually turn of the headset and turn it back on. Sometimes I have to either reset the phone or turn bluetooth on the phone off and back on. Also, I've read that other people have seen this behavior also.
o - Another quirk is that with VoiceCommand, it normally asks you to confirm the person you're calling. Sometimes, that confirmation request doesn't get played back over the headset (or via the phone either). Usually what I do when this happens is that I wait about 4-5 seconds after saying the person's name before saying "yes" (course, this means that I might call the wrong person sometime). I *think* this only happens after I've been listening to music via Windows Media player. I'm experimenting to verify this though.
Sometimes you get "skipping" when listening to music, but I hear that's pretty common. You can try lowering the 'bitpool' setting in the registry to help with that.
Battery life is pretty good. Maybe not as good as the JX10. I could go about 5 days on a single charge, but I'm a fairly lite user. Of course, I'm listening to music on this headset, so naturally the charge won't last as long. I will say that I've listened to music for about 3-4 hours in a setting, and the battery level indicator on the headset shows about 50% left.
I haven't use the built in phone book or the "tagged" voice dialing because I have MS Voice Command (you don't have to record tags with it..it really does do voice recognition, and it pretty accurate. I can go to my wife's phone and use her's with no problem without having to train her phone).
As for the caller id, honestly, I've never looked. I'll have to try to look at that in the future to see what it does. I just ran a test though, and it just showed the number, not the name.
Coincidentally, I stopped using the H700 for the same reason you did. Nice headset, but it really annoyed me that I couldn't answer calls. Strangely though, my wife, with the same phone and headset, can answer calls..sometimes. I have no idea why. Apparently this is kinda common cause I've read reports on some Treo websites that have the same problem.
All in all, I'm still pleased with this headset.
Hope this helps some.

I can walk all around my house with no signal loss, the sound quality is great, very good bass, I listen hip hop music with it.
took 1 minute to set up, when I got a call it stop the music and beeps to signal a call, as soon as you hang up the music resumes.
really great purchase even if it is a bit pricey!

Hi all:
--
I was wondering which BT Stereo Headset [not headphones meaning I can make calls etc] you guys are using with your HTC Wizard or any A2DP device for that matter.
--
My criteria:
The Sony HBH-DS970 are great ... good sound and easy to setup and use! Work on my JASJAR just fine with WM6.

I got the BlueSpoon Spider for Christmas, and it worked fine after I installed the a2dp_hack.cab when I was running WM5.
I didn't need to install that A2DP fix to get it to work under WM6.
I use it primariy for 'Wireless Stereo', but it also works as 'Hands-free', although I've had a couple people say it sounds very much like I'm on a speakerphone.

My usage is mainly as a headset and as a music stereo headset from time to time.
I use it both with my PC and Skype and with my mobile. It works extremely well in that combination as it can be connected to both together. If my mobile rings, it transfer the sound to the headset and if someon calls my on skype, hop, to the headset. And I can respond and reject on both from the headset.
Except from the 'Control Center' program that I am still not able to download, this headset is very good.

Hi, I have the same BT headset. Do you face any skipping or Song speed intermittant (sometimes slow, sometimes fast) problem?
I am facing these issues. Please let me know what ROM are u using.
Thanks,
Sid
I'm using an iTech clip which I bought stand-alone at a computer market in Hong Kong. It appears in the Bluetooth Manager as "i.Tech Clip S". On the back of the device, it has written "Support MSI BluePlayer" (whatever that means), followed by "Not for Sale". I still bought it.
The model number underneath is C51-A04027-XX ... 3.9V.
One of the two headphone pieces can be unplugged from the unit proper leaving a kind of hands-free device remaining (one earpiece).
Works well enough...

I have changed the Bitpool value in the registry to 40. You should be able to find more information on this on the forum.

Yes it works correctly with Molski 2.26 Rom. It is only skipping a little when starting the first song and maybe on some phone events. I have to say that my QTEK 9100 is also running at 260 Mhz. That may help.

I have seen several headsets and have tried 3 different ones. They were all OK with regards to Stereo Sound but none were good for talking on the phone.
They were the Motorola HT-820, Nextlink Spider and Jabra BT620's.

Im just glad to get rid of the wires on the morning commute to school lol
but i guess they have the new ones coming out, i dont know too much about them, but they look a lot smaller, which was the only drawback with the ht820's. They weren't to big, but they weren't small. I'm still really glad i bought them.

I have the BT8010 too. The first time I used it, it displayed the behavior mentioned by you. After factory resetting the headset and NOT adding any contacts, the incoming calls ring on the phone now. The headset just vibrates.
Also, use the button on the top right of headset to turn music on/off for music divert from phone to headset. It will show an icon on LCD, if the music is on. This might help.

I think you are right. It rang on the phone sometimes, and other times in the headset. I think it sometimes has trouble switching back from BT Stereo to BT Headset mode. Overall, I am very happy. comfortable, excellent sound, easy to use.

Yeah, it's a problem with the headphones' not entirely MS Bt stack-compatible. Read my just linked-in article for more info.

Does any know if any of these things work off an updateable firmware. The sound quality is really bad at the high end, the only solution I've found is limiting the high end via an eq(tcpmp)
The Moto is updatable, but as has also been pointed out in my all-in-one review, it only elminates the skipping problem present with early Moto models.

Have just bought some bluetooth headphones (ebay item 180102157862). I dont know how to get them to work with my tmobile vario running faria crossbow. Theyre itechs. I can get the headset to flash blue but cannot pair the devices. The installation files on the cd are symbian so no use to me but i didnt think they would be needed anyway for pda.
Help please

No. I don't have BT stereo headphones, but I believe you just have to switch you profile on them to A2DP. Couldn't tell you how to do that, though.

Wow , I got this today , and i'm impressed beyond my wildest dreams ! Call quality is awesome , and the mic has such a powerful pickup , that yiu can virtually talk in silence ! ( very romantic BTW ! )
Audio quality also surpassed my expectations . Beleive me , I have pretty high standards when it comes to music ( especially BASS ) , and I find this in par , if not better , than the default wired headset , or any other , for that matter !
2 thumbs up sony , this is one amazing product . And when you can get it for the price I did ( 17.95 GPB !!! ) , it's soooooooo worth it !

I've been using the Bluespoon Spider stereo headset, but I wasn't able to use it until I upgraded to WM6 Most Beautiful Edition. So far I have no problems 'cept for the dropout when a wall is between you and the phone and in long distances.
And stragely... I feel like sometimes my music is off tune at certain times when I'm using it. Can't tell if its me or not...

Check out the Moto Rokr, it is approx $99.00 USD, also there another Motorola headset that is about $149.99 USB that is a bit larger and bulkier.
These are two that are available at www.bestbuy.com so you shouldn't have any problems finding them.

Is it just me , or does the music on the wizard break ( choppy / gaps ) when playing over A2DP ?
I realized that after a soft reset , it's seamless , but there appears to be a huge memory leak with the Microsoft bluetooth stack ( I AM using the a2dp hack , btw ) . Widcomm is a good alternative , but I like my blue "bling" when i'm using bluetooth , so I'll stick to the MS stack !
Getting back to the larger issue at hand , I use pocket player , 'cos that's the only player which has low enough resource drain to have gapless playback . Pocket music , WMplayer , etc all have choppy playback !
Any workaround guys ?

Can anyone share some settings regarding BitPool, MaxBitPool, or any other settings that increase the audio quality with yout stereo headphones?
I am using the Jabra 620s with WM6 crossbow reload. I also have Jenson wbt212 but haven't tried them yet with wm6. I probably won't ever use them because they have no music controls (i should have done my homework better). Im glad i jumped to wm6 because now the headphones and the phone pair automatically when I turn the headphones on.
Now im looking for tweaks for audio quality.

I'm using Nokia BH-501 BT stereo headset now and I'm happy of it. Playing nice with some ROM's and with Hardcore's reg tweaks, like UseJountStereo=1 and SampleRate=48000.;)
I got a pair of Moto S9's.
What a piece of junk.
They just don't fit my head, and I can't find a volume setting that doesn't distort.
They're going back or on eBay.

jabra 320s, with volyme control and play control
weather proof.
original headset i have allready changed to sony neck model, (a little better sound)
good: 3,5mm plug to change a headset as you like,
really light and handy to use in practice with mediaplayer.
bad: battery lasts about approx. 3-4h, but easy to reload
with mini usb.
overall this is very good headset
phone qtek 9100, wm5 with updated a2dp from here

got them yesterday... about 60 bucks at Radio Shack. Last pair they had :)
Wonderful sound quality, but again i am not a audio nut by any means. Just a cell phone nut. I probbably belong in a tree ;)
But I like it so far. I haven't used the call functionality of it yet... i'm currently putting it in a charge hold test. Charged the Spider overnight and now I am weaving the web of music throughout my brain... so far about 45 minutes going strong... reviews said some 2-3 hours despite the 10 advertised...
All controls work with WMP10. This legless Spider can actually be quite loud... and oh, extremely comfortable.
More later.
Until then...
Do onto others as they do onto you. Simply put... 69! :)

Just bought a pair of Jabra 620s for use with my brand new HTC Touch / WM6... BUT: even though it initially pairs ok and I can use both the headset and the earphones functionality, when I power the 620 off and then on again, it is only recognized as a 'headset' serving device, no music avaliable... ´When I pair again, everything's fine - but I'm not supposed to pair them every time I want to listen to music, am I? Does anybody know what the problem could be?
-THX-

So, I am highly dissapointed with the battery life. It seems that a bunch of these were shipped out with bad batteries. 1 hour, at best...
But there is a workaround, short of mailing it to Denmark of course.
Some guy on HoFo figured out a way to get a iPod Nano battery on the headset which gives it about 5 hours listening time. This is with the 400 mAh battery, but there seem to be some 850 mAh out there that would supposedly fit. The HoFo guy said he was going to try it... will see what that does, if anything.
As for the rest, using the headset to call works fine in a no noise environment, such as a house, office, or a car with windows up. In a different setting hearing anything on the headset is practically impossible, which makes it a pointless use. However on quiet settings, the person on the other end of the line can hear fine, though once I was told I sound like I am under water.
Should you want to get this, I urge you to use either a stock Tmobile ROM or Faria's Real Deal Crossbow ROM. Anything else I tried is literally crap.
Adjust the bitpool and maxbitpool settins in the registry under HKLM-Software-Microsoft-Bluetooth-A2DP-Settings. Mine is at respectively 30 and 60, and JointStereo at 0.
Update:
I changed the battery on the Spider with the Nano one. It was a bit tedious, also since I didn't have a soldering iron. I had to attach the wires in a way that they wouldn't move and I fixed the battery nicely with athesive tape and a self made plastic clamp. the setup works wonders. The headset now lasts a really long time. I am estimating some 4-5 hours of continuous A2DP use, which for my needs is just fantastic.

Hi everybody
Im using both 590A and HT820 with my HTC X7500 Advantage WM6 PDA, playing music in Windows Media Player and both work fine.
They support A2DP and AVCRP with all buttons working on both headset, however the sound music from the 590A is a lot more amplified then the HT820.
I would even say the music on the HT820 is very very low compared to the 590A, so I don't really understand. ...
Does anybody who uses the HT820 noticed same behavior??
Is there a workaround for that beside using other MP3 players with built-in amplifier???

BlueSpoon AX2. Small, people can barely tell you have one in your ear, battery lasts at least the day (moderate use), and it's inexpensive. The downside is the sound quality is not fantastic. More than adequate for phone calls, but you wouldn't want to use it like an earphone for music.

I'm using the Samsung SBH-170 and it works great. I've tried the first motorola behind the neck, as well as Nextlink's first foray into the A2DP arena and those were terrible. I also tried the shiny Sony earclip one, and it was meh, ok...less than stellar. The absolute best in terms of quality was the Logitech Frepulse 2. Wow, did it blow me away, it even sounded better than my $100 wired Sony headphones. Unfortunately, w/o AVRCP or the Handsfree profile, I ended up trading it in for the Samsung.

how can i get to use them as head phones for my media player
thanks
Pair your devices (Wiza & S9). Turn on headphones. Activate BT on your wizard. Activate A2DP on your wizard. (Batterystatus todayplugin allows me to toggle BT and A2DP from todayscreen.)
But, you must have a ROM that supports A2DP or read the following instructions:

That's it. Hope this helps.

I am using I-tech clip radio it support A2DP, AVRC with buit in FM radio receiver and sound quality is great.
But i am facing a problem -
My Wizard detects it as 1.Wireless Stereo and 2.hands free
After paring it plays music and handle call very well
Once i switch off BT on phone then again switch on to reconnect it connects only Hands Free part not Wireless Stereo - so music doesn't come on Hands free
If i start A2DP from Battery Status it transfers music but very poor sound quality and AVRC function.
I even tried Widcomm BT Stack but no help.
So after every switch on/off of BT i have to delete and pair it again with my phone.
Please help
