Before I get caught in the upgrade frenzy, and learn to use aWizard, etc., I thought perhaps we'll all benefit from a review of what we get from the newer ROM versions. I like having read/write extended ROM which seems to be replaced by read-only when going to ROM 1.6.x.x or above. I've upgraded my radio ROM separately to 01.12.10. What benefits will I see if I upgrade to a 1.5 or 1.6 OS ROM? Speed is widely mentioned in these forums, but may be the result of hard restting the devices.

Thanks

I'll add my own reply. After reading this thread top to bottom, I think it's clear responsiveness of the OS is improved, bluetooth wakeup from headset is fixed.

If others want to note any additional improvements, great, but I've started assembling all the bits to upgrade my ROM

At the moment it seems to be a bit of a struggle between new functionality, or increased speed and stability. Different ROMs have been benchmarked. Have a look here (http://htcwizard.westlands.org/2006/02/09/htc-wizard-rom-versions-benchmarked/).
