What is the action you usually take on your device? I guess tapping Ok/Close button.
It's smart to assign this action to an hardware button. But for almost PPC Phone Edition WM2K3, there are only 4 hardware buttons can be re-assigned by users and you dont wanna waste any button to simulate Ok/Close button.
Now, you can use the red phone button to do that beside its original function. It means: if you're having a phone call or a GPRS connection, pressing the red button will hang it up, if not, simulate Ok/Close button. I know that on some devices (e.g: XDA Mini...), the red phone button is used to quick minimize running applications also (e.g: you're opening Inbox Options, press the red button will go to Today screen directly without closing Inbox Options). I don't like this feature at all. I prefer using it to simulate Ok/Close button. So I've developed the tiny utility named "Red Button Remap". It has no GUI, no registry read/write. It has 2 files (total size ~11KB). It's just install then soft reset.
This utility is very useful for me :) so I posted here for someone like it.
I wrote it for my XDA Mini. I'm not sure about other device but it should work properly on WM2K3SE (phone edition only).
Red Button Remap version 0.1 beta:
- Re-map the red phone button on some WM2K3 phone edition devices to simulate Ok/Close button (REMEMBER: SIMULATION means it does nothing without the Ok/Close button appearance).
