Running Romkitchen upgrade (3.17.03) has crashed xda!

Hi, I've only had my xda (wallaby) for 2 weeks and I love it, but I think I've just bust it!
Help would be greatly appreciated.

1. I cooked a 3.71.03 version, saved as executable.
2. Verifed ActiveSync was talking to my XDA.
3. Fired up rom.exe.
4. Programme A dialog box comes up, a few questions and it starts communicating with PDA.
5. PDA screen is wiped and the Upgrading progress bar appears, it will take about 5 minutes ...
6. Then I get an error that the loader cannot communicate with USB port?
PDA screen is left with the Upgrading progress bar message. Rom.exe exited saying: your upgrade is incompatible with your PDA:
Your device: model: PW10A1, ROM 3.17
Your upgrade: PW10A1, ROM 3.16

ActiveSync can no longer communicate with PDA as the upgrade process appears to have wiped ActiveSync on the PDA out.

Tried both soft and hard resetting (many times) but nothing changes.

What next?

I had been looking at this, though I don't have an SD device so will have to find one first.

I can't figure out where to get a ROM Image from though, i.e. whatever the file is that I have to put on the Sd card?
