For Kilmist Registry Editor:

Load it up, click "Registry" on the menu, choose export registry file, and just give it a name. Let it whir and it'll be done, saved in your \my documents\ folder.

PHM Regedit is freeware, and can edit, backup, and restore the file - on the PPC itself (store the backup to an SD card).

Off topic:
stevedebi: I love the PHM stuff, but as far as I can remember, it doesn't permit importing of branches of a registry, just the lot, doesn't it?

Also, it exports into the old .rbk format of registry, which is not easy to edit.

But maybe I've got an old version.

No, I think you are correct in both cases. But you can't beat the price.
