I've been using the quasi push method of retrieving mail via MS Exchange/autd for the past few years with 4smartphone's hosted server. I recently found out that 4smartphone now also supports syncing via SyncML. I have a vague idea of how SyncML works, but need more information. I know that the PIM features of SynchML are not as robust as MS Exchange, but for email only, does a SyncML server/client combo have any advantages over MS Exhange/autd? Does SyncML maintain a permanent connection with the server in dormant state, or does it use some type of trigger like autd? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows the 4smartphone SyncML settings (I already have a SyncML client on my PPC), that would be great as well.
