View Full Version : BT Connection From iPAQ 4700 To Use GPRS On Jam

Here's my quandry:

I want to use BT to connect my iPAQ HX4700 to my Imate Jam to use GPRS for email, downloading of topographical maps, etc. My Imate Jam only offers SSA as its BT service, no DUN. I also have no incoming/outgoing ports on my Jam.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get these two devices to work together? I never had any issues bonding my iPAQ with my Razr phone, my laptop via BT, etc. But the Jam's BT stack is leaving me frustrated.

I've searched the forums ad nauseum, but I haven't found any suggestions or solutions. Is there another BT stack that I should use (Bluesoleil, perhaps)? Are there any reg hacks I need to do on the Jam to make this work???

ARGH!

Thanks in advance!!!

Tick Advanced > Port Settings > "Use terminal before connecting" and "Enter dialing commands manually".
Connect and enter below in the terminal: do not enter (*) or >* strings
ATZ (reset modem)
>OK (right answer)
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.nw" (use your operator setting)
>OK
ATD*99# (gprs dial)
>CONNECTED {~}~}}{ (ppp session)
Now, click File > Connect

This is cool, the 4700 work with my XDA2mini .
But I have got problem with this.... I need to retry many times before it work once.... eg: restart both ppc , etc

Is it possible to put these settings in the "Extra dial-string modem commands"?

i had tried to put " Z+CGDCONT=1, "IP", "internet" " , but it doesnt work.... :(

Thanks for the solution , at least I can use it for emergency situation... :P
