Guys n gals,
I was browsing around the i-mate FTP site this afternoon and have found what looks to be two K-JAM ROM updates. I have checked the actual website however theres no mention of the updates there as yet.
The filenames / versions are:
K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.zip
K-JAM_Arabic_2160901_21609102_20710_ship.zip
I-mate owners, go get em... ftp://ftp.clubimate.com
Chris
p.s. dont expect to get em in a hurry, the ftp site is currently only letting me download at around 6 - 7 KB /s :?

Good catch! I've got a jasjar myself so I cant help testing this, but nice one none-the-less :) If just had a look, and as of now, there arent any un-announced jasjar roms :( I'll keep looking though!

Yeah they have only posted the K-JAM updates so far. I actually find this a bit strange as the jasJar was released before the K-JAM yet we get AKU2 before JasJar does :?
It seems i have disadvantaged myself by announcing this before i finished downloading it as i'm watching the download get slower and slower as presumably more people read this post and begin to download.
Oh well, i'm just glad they have released it, even if it does take me all nite to get it lol. :D

Is it possible to make this ROM in Dutch? With the use of the original ROM?
Don't you think this ROM is costing us another 4 MB of Program Memory.
If I remember correctly immediately after a fresh install / hard reset of the previous version on my Jasjar would give me 31MB of free program memory. I presume that the memory footprint of the Jasjar and Wizard are not much different and if it is now down to 26 to 27 MB as quoted above, implies that the new ROM is at least 3 to 4 MB heavier in terms of free program memory.
Anyways now I am anxiously waiting before they release a ROM Upgrade for the Jasjar.

Just flashed our test K-JAMs with this ROM (they where using the qTec AKU2 pre-release). Very early days but it feels a tad faster and DirectPush works great (as it did with the qTec ROM). So far so good.
The new Comms manager is also very nice, giving you the flexibility to kill DirectPush and other comms services as you need to are very handy.

I was just about to ask whether anyone had any thoughts as to whether this update would be worth doing if I had already installed the Qtek test rom with AKU (and A2DP)!! but I think this has answered my question.
Although I had a few early software glitches with the Qtek ROM, after a hard reset and being more selective about what I installed on the device, I am very happy with performance thus far.

for Changing the Default SIP
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP
"DefaulfIM" <- Change the value of this depends on SIP DestID(can be found in CLSID look for the Key with "IsSIPInputMethod" Subkey)

Keyboard -> {42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}
Block Recognizer -> {42429691-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}

Can someone who has installed this ROM tell me if it has solved the problem about the push email feature being unable to wake up the device if an email comes in when the thing is on standby (i.e. no vibrate if email comes in when screen is off). Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I do have a problem synchronizing my Outlook 2003 e-mails. The sync program does never end (never ever stop!!!).
I bought my Vario by T-Mobile.at and changed to the version:
RUU_Prodigy_1060701_101_11310_QTEK_WWE
Rom version: 1.6.7.1 WWE
Rom date: 11/28/05
Radio version: 01.13.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.24
ExtRom version: 1.6.7.101
The upgrade worked fine but still: it did not resolve this sync problem.
Does anybody have the same problem? How can I fix this?
I also recognized, that the sync software on the phone does always open itself...?? Is this normal, even when I do not synchronize this happens.
I would like to change also to the new version but maybe somebody has tested this futures already.
Thanks :) :) :)

I am running the Qtek aku2 wwe rom for some week now on my MDA Vario.
Seems that this ROM ófficial', which should be better.

anyone know exactly what fixes / updates apart from the (apparently missing) Bluetooth headset profiles and (latest buzzword) push email?
any improvements to PIE, Messaging, Alarms, Stability! Or other little tweaks to make it better as a one-handed device etc?
Puckster
02-03-2006, 11:00 PM
Unfortunately all i-mate has to say regarding whats in the update is:
The main improvements from the original AKU 1 Operating System, 1.x.9.x, are:
Microsoft™ Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP):
• Addition of the MSFP allowing Direct Push email, remote device wiping, security policy enforcement and Global Address List Lookup for customers using a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with Service Pack 2.
Communication Manager:
• Communication Manager has been updated to allow current data services to be stopped, Direct Push email to be started/stopped using a single button press, and flight mode to be switched on/off.
I also notice that in the "Known Issues" section of the K-JAM support pages it used to mention that it was not possible to use stereo over bluetooth (A2DP etc). This section no longer has any reference to stereo bluetooth so i'm thinking we may never get this for our Wizards. Although the known issues section still lists all the original issues so it will be interesting to see what gets changed when they eventually update that page.
Cheers,
Chris

I just got a USA version of the tmobile MDA. I am pretty happy with it. I have been a PPC guy for 3 or 4 years now, and I am an old hand at upgrades, tweaks, etc.
Why would I flash a new ROM version, and can I do this? If I do this what are the risks. If I backup the device, ( programs, settings, etc) can I restore it onto the new ROM, or do I have to start from scratch?
Thanks for the patience. The learning curve is pretty steep here for a non tech guy.

My keyboard and all the buttons exept the power button is not working.
Are you using a WWE (english hardware keyboard) device?
I am, and I have the same problem. The reason is probably the "scandinavian hardware keyboard cab file" that i use to make the hardware keyboard write scandinavian characters.
I've tested a bit and after a hard reset it works fine. As soon as i re-install the hardware keyboard cab file, it breaks and my hardware keys stop working.
One alternative is to set it to not lock the buttons when power is off, but thats kind of useless.
Another option is to hard reset and then not install the "scandinavian keyboard" cab file.
If you want another way to type scandinavian characters on the HW keyboard, then have a look here: http://windowsmobile.no/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-4153.phtml

Push email works great. Better than Qtek Beta ROM (doesn't sync 3-4 times per email, now just once).
It seems a TAD faster than Qtek Beta ROM.

It's in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => SOFTWARE => Microsoft => Bluetooth => device => services => (and then we need screenshot of values of headset probably with nr.: 00001108-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB)
WOW :o
I changed in above settings profile 0000111E- etc. in 00001108 and refreshed the services in the BT menu and it now says headset instead of hands-free but still doesn't quit work.......
(Who helps me look further to the answer everybody waits for)

I flashed this new build onto my TMobile MDA and all is good. I tried to unlock my ExtRom - and for some reason was not able to see it - no biggie
I then had to hard reset the device and when it came up, nothing installed from the ExtRom - my guess is that when i unlocked it i lost it all.
As the ExtRom has now been uploaded (and now downloaded), i wanted to know if anyone can help me by letting me know what, if anything, i need to install from it.
I can see that most of the file are related to the carrier location profiles - beyond that i see the following:
Default_CAAVPPC_IMEI_2.6.80_range.CAB
Default_Imate_PPC_WZ_SA_V5.5.03.cab
Default_MP_MMSAutoDisconnect_060106.CAB
Default_MP_SmartDialing_enable_050915_signed.CAB
Default_MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA-VOICE-CV-051214.CAB
Default_MT_UpdateUAProfileAKU2.0_Wizard(AKU2.0)_05 1214.CAB
Default_P_CSD_Setting.cab
Default_P_UA_Profile.cab
Default_PT_TahomaFont_CDLME_Wizard.CAB
Default_Signed_TimeZone_locale.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_Version.sa.CAB
Does any one know what these file are for?
Any help would be great.

Ok, it looks like theres some wierd protection on the Ext Rom. Although I thought i had successfully removed and replaced a file in the Ext Rom it turns out i was incorrect.
As others have reported above, any attempt to edit or modify the Ext Rom results in some or all of the contents being completely deleted. All i had left was some of the Operator Settings and one exe :?
As a Hard Reset does not restore the Ext Rom, at this stage i wouldnt bother playing around with this unless you want to do the full ROM update to restore the Ext Rom again. I gather it won't be long before someone round here cracks it though.

best thing is to get the Ext Rom onto your PC or Storage Card. Then delibrately play with the ext rom so it is deleted then hard reset and then install the cabs you want from your backup location. This ofcourse is crap for us that want to put our own cabs into the ext_rom

I tried the AEK app and the norway layout but it doesn´t work very well with a swedish hardwarekeyboard. The mappings are wrong. And the cab with scandinavian layout kills the button so I am going back to the qtek test rom - it works like a charm.
If you want another way to type scandinavian characters on the HW keyboard, then have a look here: http://windowsmobile.no/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-4153.phtml

clubimate.com ROM update page (http://www.clubimate.com/t-DEVICE_KJAM_UPD.aspx) says:
You will not be able to downgrade to the earlier K-JAM ROM build, once this upgrade has taken place.
does it concern *only* I-Mate K-Jam ROMs or *every* ROM, including Qtek's, T-Mobile's etc.? currently i'm using v1.6.7.1 from Qtek, i'm quite happy with that, so i'd like to be sure how things in that matter are, before i update my device.

Some observations:
1. The Edge Icon works.
2. Default SIP goes back to Keyboard even if the Registry entries are changed properly (or Registry Wizard is used).
3. Camera seems to be a lot better (colors are better handled)... isn't great.. but much better than the original rom and also the test qtek rom IMHO.
4. Speed on par with the test Qtek ROM.
5. Have not tested either Push mail OR A2DP but there are enuf reports on them already :-)

Any sugestions for a good one?the Qtek test ROM also has a useless battery meter up top... anyone has the tweak to change it back to time? I find that the old battery meter [in the tray bar is more useful] as atleast you can navigate to it and open it with your dpad whereas the new one you have to tap to use... what's worse is it only has two bars so there is no way to accurately guage your remaining battery:roll:

Try to read a few pages back in this thread.
Don't install the cab file with scandinavian hardware keyboard. It breaks the keys/keyboard.
I use aekeymap instead, but its not a perfect solution.
I just upgraded my Cingular 8125 to the latest K-JAM ROM with MSFP ver 2.16.9.1 and the aWizard tool no longer works. I have seen other people post about this. Any chances on updating the tool to work with this new ROM? I also cannot get the old splash screen back on the device as someone else already posted here.
The device is now SIM locked again. That part I don't care about so much since I use a Cingular SIM anyway. But the CID lock means I cannot downgrade back to the stock ROM (right?) and the splash screen update doesn't work.

My previous stock Cingular ROM did not bring up the screen lock when the device was on external power. The new ROM does which is a pain when using navigation software. Does anyone know of any software that will simulate device activity (screen / button presses) in the background that will keep the lock from engaging. It would be easier to just launch such an application rather then turning the lock on and off. Lame...

Just installed this ROM on my Cingular 8125...
Battery life while I'm not using WiFi or a lot of GPRS seems to have improved 100% - With about 30 minutes of using the web via GPRS and 30 using WiFi, and 90 minutes of talk, I'm still at over 50% power. This is MUCH improved over the original Cingular ROM. With the original ROMs I'd be charging by now.
Sound quality on the original ROMs was bad - incoming was alright, but people complained that I'd fade in and out quite a bit and the speakerphone sounded scratchy and would crack quite a bit.
The new ROM seems to have solved the fade, but now people complain that I'm a bit too loud and distort a bit if I talk directly into the phone. Speakerphone sounds good w/all scratch gone and no more cracking noises.
Speakerphone volume still won't go down enough - even at the lowest setting it can be too loud.
Cannot change the splash screen - haven't tried to hard though.
A lot of improvment in speed - particularly when swapping from landscape to portrait. With the original ROM I had some problems with it taking a second or two. This was after a fair amount of use - so a soft reset always helped. Now - on day two without a soft reset and the swapping seems to be perfect - no major slowdowns anywhere.
Radio quality has improved a bit too - GPRS/EDGE connecting much quicker, and there seems to be a reduction in latency. Normal GSM connections seem much improved - I was suffering from a lot of fade out when moving around / driving - about as good as one can expect now. Only fade out in some known problem spots.

Can someone point me in the direction of figuring out the new items and what they are good for in this ROM compared to what I had in my stock Cingular 8125 ROM. I know there is the Push email item, but the data service ,when should we and shouldn't we use it? Does it interfere with regular calls and WiFi if it is on. No lectures but just a nudge in the right direction. Thank you in advance.

Sprint will take FOREVER to give us a ROM update. At times I am tempted so I can get access to cool GSm devices, but the 39% discount keeps me at Sprint.

I've tried this rom for about 3-4 days and it is def an improvement for me. I had to soft reset my device at least 2-3 times a day before on the latest uk t-mobile rom and since I've installed this no soft resets so far due to crash or slow down.
now all i need to do is get the push email thing going :?:

it did that on the test rom as well, i think the password should be disabled when the wizard is powered.

I was bored this evening so played around with the ExtRom cabs from the new i-mate ROM. I have been able to work out basically whats in each cab as follows. The letters UA in a few of the filenames stands for User Agent.
Also, the XML files in each cab file make reference to xml files on some websites. These seem to contain the complete hardware and software configuration of the Wizard devices. Check it out!!!

I have read through this thread and have the following quetions / comments.
Please can you look over the list and give me your opinions / comments.
I have an o2 xda-mini-s, currently in need of a hard reset, and I am thinking about upgraging to this latest ROM.
1. Can I downgrade from this ROM back to the standard o2 Rom?
2. I have read that this is possible for the XDA-mini-S, but I will have to 'unlock' the ROM using CIDunlock. I guess this is because the ROM was not designed for o2 as an operator, thus is 'locked' to another operator.
3. Assuming it all goes wrong, can you force a ROM upgrade/downgrade? I remember trashing a computer motherboard with a dud BIOS upgrade, only solution remove the BIOS chip and flash or buy a new motherboard..... dont want to buy a new XDA if it goes wrong!
4. Can I stop the instalation of unwanted stuff like Skype
5. Can others verify the battery life is better with the new ROM.
6. Anyone got the battery meter off the taskbar yet?
Should I load the new ROM or stick with the old o2 ROM?
Thanks in advance your your answers :)

There is a definite improvement, yes. I used up my battery in less than 10 hours before this rom... But also found something else....
I had not installed the ext rom.. battery indicator kept saying 100%. Now, after a few hours, I have manually installed skype and Default_MT_UpdateUAProfileAKU2.0_Wizard(AKU2.0)_05 1214.CAB. After soft resetting the device, battery power was at 94% immediately. Could it be that, without the aku2 update, the battery indicator doesn't work?

If (like me) you missed a working activesync button you can use the TMobile Comm Manager.
It has 4 buttons:
- phone
- wifi
- bluetooth
- active sync
* NO direct push or vibrate buttons
I prefer it because:
- i dont use direct push and vibrate can be enabled by holding down the comm-button
furthermore i like the owrking activesyncbutton because i sync over bluetooth and i w ould use the comm manager to switch on bluetooth and then go to activesync.
But for the people that do use direct push: i don;t know how to enable it now.

i've finally installed newest ROM. my first impressions:
1) noticeably FASTER than 1.6.7.1
2) edge icon and gsm test mode working :)
3) i think wifi's better (however, it's hard to say after just 1-2 hours of using but i noticed that connection is established faster)
4) tahoma font got a bit 'clearer' with cleartype enabled?
5) i don't like idea of battery icon instead of clock on today screen (should be optional)
6) cell broadcast messages does not work at all! :(
7) mp3 ringtones when other application than WMP is associated with mp3 filetype still don't work

1. What are the DEFAUL~1.CAB, Default_CAAVPPC_IMEI....., Install_Tsk.exep and the Setup.exe files in the extended_rom? Thanks Puckster for explaining already some of them!
2. What do the preconfigured telecom settings exactly do? I mean there are a lot of telecom-cabs.. for I have seen that that they do not set WAP/GPRS settings.
3. I guess the virusscanner is left out in this rom?
Or let me put it this way: Is there any of these cabs you absolutely need at all?
Thanks!

4. Can I change any of the HTC or Imate splash screen?
Thanks!
1. The DEFAUL~1.CAB that you mention could be any of them as it is a truncated / shortened filename and they all start with the word default. Is this actually how it appears in your ExtRom or is this after the files have been copied to your PC?
Default_CAAVPPC_IMEI_2.6.80_range.CAB is actually the CA Anti-Virus Application. The main difference with the cab install for AV on this ROM is that it isnt actually fully installed on the device but a shortcut is placed in the Start Menu\Programs folder "CA Install" that initiates the actual install when run.
I think install_tsk.exe may install the i-mate today screens but i cant confirm this as nothing seems to happen if i copy the file to the k-jam and execute manually and Setup.exe is used to begin the install of the customisations on 1st use or after a hard reset.
2. I have only used the Vodafone AU operator cab from the ExtRom and it DOES setup all gprs/wap settings etc for me.
3. See my note above in point 1.
4. A lot of people have reported that none of the previous tools that worked are able to change the splash screens on the i-mate AKU2 ROM though hopefully someone will crack this and the new ExtRom protection before long.
Cheers,
Chris

I charged my phone about 12 hour ago, and it's still at 100%. This can't be correct. If I perform a soft reset, the actual status is displayed. But as soon as you recharge, it stays at 100% for hours. Don't know if it will change to something else, without performing a soft reset.
EDIT: after 15 hours and a phonecall of two minutes, the percentage changed to 99% :D

I am having trouble with the available connections under settings. I have an K-Jam and have just upgraded to the new ROM. After install I selected my network UK Vodafone Contract. When I go into Settings - Connections there are three available. 'My ISP' 'My Work Network' and 'Vodafone MMS' I went to create a new one called 'Work', but when I clicked OK it said Connection settings already exist with that name. I then went in to Messaging and set an account to automatically send/receive every 15 minutes. In the drop down the 3 connections listed above appear along with 'Work' and 'The Internet'. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or know how to fix it?

I've updated the ROM on my (UK) T-Mobile MDA vario - works fine and it's great not to have a pink phone!
However, previously there was a 'softkey' item in settings->system which allows you to change the softkeys on the today screen. But this doesn't appear to be in the new ROM.
Does anyone else know how to change the softkeys or download a suitable program?

Hey Guys...
I have been beating on this for about 2-3 days trying to get this KJAM ROM (2.16.9.1WWE)...
I have a US TMO MDA. The KJAM ROM goes on fine, then I cancel past the operator CABS and catch the default KJAM Extended ROM Cabs. It seems to be fine, but when I apply some of the TMO Ext ROM cabs (specifically "Signed_GPRS-stall_wizard_TMOUS_Dec20,.cab") the WiFi quits working. Red "x" stays on when trying to enable wifi.
Also... Which Radio ROM do you recommend? I am using 1.12.10... is that better or worse then the 2.07.x from the KJAM ROM?
Should I ignore all the TMO GPRS Cabs? I was trying to get back the "T-Mobile My Email" function, and Hot Spot Program and a couple other things.

If you do not want the OZ Im client or the T-Mobile "SMS email trigger" stuff then you need to load only TWO of the T-Mobile CABs to restore the GPRS and MMS settings on the Imate base load.
These are:
CAB-Customization-Wizard(AKU1.0)-TMOUSA-01-09-051215
Signed_TMOUSA_Connection_Wiz10810101.sa.
This is what I'm running now and it consumed only FOUR MB of storage memory! With TC, VoiceCommand, Agile, RegWiz and a few other things I have only 10MB storage memory in use and the phone is SMOKING fast.
If you want the OZ IM client there are two more you have to load (one is the actual app and the second is the link so it shows up in the program list.) Personally, I have no use for the OZ Im client or the SMS email trigger garbage and the Imate themes included have the black text option, which is the only reason to load the T-Mobile theme anyway, so I left that off as well.
The IMate connection manager is vastly superior to the T-Mobile one; no reason to dork with that.

What I did was take those two CABs from the T-Mo extended ROM and stuck 'em on my SD card (marked read-only so they don't get killed once run.)
If I have to hard-reset I just interrupt the customization and then run those two, and I'm back to the Imate load with the T-Mobile "Stuff" on it.
But - so far no need - the new Imate code appears to be solid.

Well, I decided to Flash my HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) with the new ROM that just came out.
I have nothing but good things to say about the process. Seemless and the performance is outstanding not to mention the increased battery life.
The reason I post this is because there have been reports of the phone being SIM locked after the Flash. This is not the case with my Wizard. I decided to check, fully expecting the SIM lock to be in place (not that important since I use a Cingular SIM). I put in my old T-Mobile SIM expecting to see the Input Unlock Code screen. It booted up normal (couldn't find a signal due to the inactive SIM) to my surprise. I will be checking with a friends active SIM from T-Mobile but it looks good so far.
Hope this helps those that are on the fence with the ROM update. I used the lokiwiz.bat v.0.2b with first the U (SIM unlock) and then the C (CID unlock)
Then used the new K-Jam update program downloaded from the Forum here on XDA-Developers. After the Flash I hit cancel when prompted to select a Service Provider and then did a soft-reset to avoid the Extended ROM that accompanies the update.
Not sure why I got this result but I'm not complaining, hope this helps.

Do I need an additional memory card to install this update? I don't have one but really want to install this update. What steps do I have to take?

Thanks in advance your your answers :)
i upgraded it and i have a new device. its awesome, soooo much faster and better and it even makes coffee. Do it, you wont regret it. The only thing that really annoys me is the IT:WriteDisk error that stops me from changing bootscreens etc. Is there some way to unlock this?
I switched from the tmobile 1.6.2.4 to this rom and the device is faster.
there is a new application installed by default : screencapture , while the streaming one from the 1.6.2.4 is gone.
the only thing bothering me is that damn battery indicator on the topbar :x ... no one found a reghack yet?

What I did was take those two CABs from the T-Mo extended ROM and stuck 'em on my SD card (marked read-only so they don't get killed once run.)
If I have to hard-reset I just interrupt the customization and then run those two, and I'm back to the Imate load with the T-Mobile "Stuff" on it.
But - so far no need - the new Imate code appears to be solid.
I just flashed my TMo US MDA, and added ran the 2 CABs you listed genesis. I have the TMo settings in the MMS settings box. However, I have no MMS account under messaging! Which cab should I run to get this back? One off the TMo extended rom, or from this new extended rom?

Hmmm... let me look around some. I may have loaded a third CAB somewhere that I forgot about :)
Found it - load MT-MMS-WI19-051213-1 and SHortcut-MMS1-CV-VOICE-TMO-US-10Nov05
That puts the MMS account back in messaging. The first one may not be necessary..... (the second definitely is)
Sorry about that - I missed those two in the list.....

screencapture? Didn't see that. Where is it?

voila :) ... actually is a small popup with 2 options: Now and After 10 seconds. There's a Save automatically checkbox, if not checked it will prompt for the destination folder). Can do PNG BMP and JPG
and the new comm manager (unfortunatelly it's a little bit buggy cause it stays in the memory and killing it with the task manager is forced)

Regarding the new Comm Mngr I use Wisbar advance 2 and this closes apps instead of hiding them. I see your using MagicButton. I too used that but for 10 dollars WA 2 is a great buy allowing you to skin the top bar and close apps.
Now to what I was posting about. I flashed my 8125 with the new ROM and avoided the ext rom. I don't see the screen capture app. Is it in the ext rom? What else am I missing out on without the ext rom?

Has anyone figured out how to get the ext_rom back on the K-Jam yet so it installs after a HR?
I did as eveyone else and deleted some files from it then HR and the files in the ext_rom vanished. I'd like to place my own custom files there so I can recover quicklt after a HR.
At the moment I have them on my SD card so install from there.

I also used WA2 at the beginning but it was slowing down the device (my opinion) and I didn't liked that sometimes :)
MB is very light and I use it with VJOkButt and a hardware key (the PIE one) and I like it cause is faster (again, just my opinion ;) )

oh, yeah ... I forgot that I didn't installed the ext rom but then I browsed it and installed some of the cabs, but I don't remember which exactly :( ... it must be in one of them

How do I get my MMS inbox etc to show in the meesaging window. I just have Text and Outlook. After a HR I only installed the following files from the ext_rom.
Default_MP_MMSAutoDisconnect_060106
Default_MT_UpdateUAProfileAKU2.0_Wizard(AKU2.0)_05 1214
Default_P_CSD_Setting
Default_P_UA_Profile
Default_Signed_TimeZone_locale.sa
Default_Signed_Version.sa
Have I missed something?
Do you actually require any of the files in the Ext_rom to have a fully functioning device?

On page 8 of this thread i posted a breakdown of what i have been able to work out is in each cab file. Using the xml and reg files in each cab i have been able to basically tell what each cab does.
As theres only one cab file that mentions MMS you haven't installed, I'm pretty sure the cab you need is:
Default_MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA-VOICE-CV-051214
Adds:
MMS App Settings
Shortcuts for Voice Dial, sddaemon, Midlet Mgr, ClearVue
After reading your post i actually went back and looked at the contents of the xml in this cab file and have found it its almost definitely the cab file you need as it specifically mentions Email and associated settings. If someone can confirm i have this right, I will edit my post on Page 8 to add this info.
Install this cab file and let us know how you get on. (i would suggest a sof-reset afterwards)
Cheers,
Chris :D

Puckster, I did look at that list you posted on page 8 and it's based on that list that I chose what to install and not to install. I didn't install the Default_MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA-VOICE-CV-051214 file as I thought it was just for the short cuts.
I have now installed the file and it made no difference. Still no MMS directory tree in the messaging window. I have the MMS & GPRS settings configured via the operator cab file.

Interesting, i was sure from the contents of the xml file that this would be it. As you can see below the xml file has a lot of settings for an email / mms account. Its the only cab file that i noticed any settings like this but I'll have another look and do some testing next time i hard reset.

worked for me that cab, it added the MMS account
did you soft-reset it after install?
EDIT: or maybe it needs another cab from the ext_rom (I've installed others too) ... just my opinion

That screenshot program is a part of Resco Explorer or Resco Photo Viewer, but I don't think that it's part of the ROM ;)

Yes, I soft reset. I installed all the files listed above and the operator settings for my operator. This is weird. i guess I'll start installing the other cabs one a t a time and see which one brings up the MMS tree.

Is the battery meter not working in this rom? Before, I had some serious battery drainage (10% per hour). I am now running this rom version for 3 hours and my indicator still says 100%.... Is the meter wrong, or is my batteryproblem solved? Anyone with similar experience?
I charged my phone about 12 hour ago, and it's still at 100%. This can't be correct. If I perform a soft reset, the actual status is displayed. But as soon as you recharge, it stays at 100% for hours. Don't know if it will change to something else, without performing a soft reset.
EDIT: after 15 hours and a phonecall of two minutes, the percentage changed to 99% :D
yeah... with me the battery has gone hatwire as well... first worked perfect, but now it just remains 100 percent. even soft resets dont help... it remains at 100, sometimes 99%...
besides that... it is like having a nw phone.... I was abroad for a couple of months, and i thought, first thing when i get back to holland is put this thing on ebay... but now, i really like it. phone quality both mike and sound improved a great deal, camera 100% better, video playback doesn't stutter no more... all very good, just that battery thing...
oh and the gprs seems a bit slower... anyone noticed that?

oups, my bad then :) (although on the 1.6 rom this app wasn't installed when I installed resco)
