Does anybody know if there is a application out there that caters for this service. I am thinking about getting this activated on my Orange SIM and from what I have read I will be able to receive calls but maybe not be able to make them.
Anyone’s views experience on this is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I am very interested in this too.
Pleasy, does anybody know this?
Thanks

Can anybody calrify what does the ALS service do
ALS stands for Alternate Line Service.
That means you have 1 SIM card with 2 different numbers.
You are always reachable under both numbers but for outgoing calls you can choose the line/number to use.
Therefore your company can give you a sim card for company calls and you can use the same sim for private calls too by just switching the outgoing line. So there are 2 different bills. One goes to your company for the company calls and the other goes to you for your private calls.
Currently E-Plus in Germany and Orange UK offer such contracts to business customers.
In Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition 2003 (SE) you have a small "1" / "2" in the middle of the top line.
Smartphones with Windows Mobile 2005 also support this feature, in some firmwarez you have to change a reg-key to enable this feature.
The answer is now if WM5 PocketPC also supports ALS because I am thinking about buying a Wizard device and this function is essential for me.
So, anyone any clues?

Did anyone ever try to utilize a smartphone-dll in a PPC device in order to activate the menus? I guess copying dlls is not to much a problem, as it is possible to sign them with developer keys. Much more a point could be missing hardware support. However, in case of the Treo 750, I'm very confindent, as all the PalmOS Treos support this feature.
Some hints are very welcome!

Chris
