Hi
I would like the help of this forum to guide me on how to convert the 2.5 mm headphone jack to use a 3.55 headphone jack.
I have seen couple of extensions for the same. However I am not too confident on the compatibilty between XDA models plus Quality.
Should I buy those converter or do companies like SONY , AIWA, PANASONIC make headphones which have a 2.5 mm headphone jack.
Regards
Dhruv

Sorry to be a little off-topic but i was wondering if the headset jack in Exec allow external microphone connection?
If it allows, then i need to find a 3.5 mm 4-ring plug:
1. First ring: Left channel output
2. Second ring: Right channel output
3. Third ring: Microphone input
4. Fourth ring: Ground
Where can i get this? I need this so that i can transform the Exec for data acquisition using Virtins Pocket Instrument software. Could somene pls help me on getting this information please?
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Ravi

I've saw
this in ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5881109645&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT), which seems to be able to convert it to normal headphone. However, if you look at the picture below, it is a 3 ring plug, which if according to dhruvkataria post above, it would join the mic input with ground. Electronically, that should be fine. Anyone know what other complication it may poses?

try this link from the wiki site
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Connectors
It showes the connector and all the wiring so if you are feeling upto or know some one who can solder. you could make your very own headset with mic.
hope this helps gingerchristopher
