Hi again all. today I got my M2000 (BA) for my M1000 (Himalaya) which broke last week. When I installed the TomTom software from the CD - I got a message on screen advising that the software was written for a previous version of Windows Media and there may be trouble displaying. Nice to get a warning of a problem instead of it just happening, and in this case they were right. After between 5 and 10 mins of navigation TomTom software just shuts itself down.

So can anyone help me get this stable or should I just cut my losses now and send it back to the dealer - I have 7 days to return with no obligation.

Seriously thinking of giving up on HTC technologies - If anyone can restore my faith, it would be appreciated.

Should run fine I got the same message, ignored it and had no problems. Now my Wizard that was another matter

That's what I hoped would happen - but a dozen times now TomTom has closed itself down after 5-10 mins navigation. Never had this problem on the M1000.

Progress Through Technology - excellent

Have you got the 5.21 update from the TomTom website (http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=3361)?

I've got a M2000 with TomTom and it works perfectly - never had a problem with it (other than when I was running WM5, now back on WM2003).

What speed card you using sometimes that can be a problem. If it runs for 10 Mins sounds like a card issue

First of all download the upgrade to TTN5,21 if this has no change to the problems have a look at what is causing this, it could be the Orange customer interface (all the crap software the suppliers think you need), have a dig around on this site as to how to get rid of it, O2 is just as bad! - I found ditching the customisation (O2 in my case) turned an expensive paperweight into a very good usable phone including sat nav, you need TT5,1 or higher to use with this device - otherwise you can't enter postcodes without using the inbuilt slide out unit - Mike
