The version he is using is the English (WWE) copy, not the Dutch that indeed is released in Belgium..

Still waiting for the Dutch copy to popup at the ftp..
Qtek.nl is delaying it for a long time now..

Did any else notice that the password lock timeout set to 0 minutes doesn't work the way it used to?

When you set the "prompt if device unused for" to 0 minutes, it should prompt for a password only if you turn off, then turn on the phone. Now it will lock the screen and prompt you for a password every minute even if the phone if left on, either on battery or plugged in.

Cant decide if I had bad luck with the ROM update... Just put the most recent version of WWE on my Qtek and now I have no sound. On vibrate it all works fine, but I have no sound on my bluetooth headsets or through the phone if I try to talk on it. Alarms only work on vibrate...... Any thoughts? :?:

its not a sim-lock but a brander-lock. You can only update ROMs from the same company you bought the device, i.e.
Qtek ROM --> newer Qtek ROM
Vodafone ROM --> newer Vodafone ROM
T-Mobile ROM --> newer T-Mobile ROM

that lock is called CID-lock and each and every device has one, so you need to remove it no matter where or in which bundle you bought it.

Ok pls excuse our confusion, here are many files in there with different names such as Custom_RUU.., 236540-ruu_prodigy.... e.t.c. I guess for the QTEK9100 ENGLISH VERSION IT IS THE :CUSTOM_RUU_Prodigy_2170702_217_20710_TMO_US.exe

And finally connect the qtek with the PC and run the execute file???

Why use an unofficial ROM when there is official (and supported) ROMs available? Your phone warranty may be voided with an unofficial ROM. Go to http://www.qtekcorp.com/.%5Csupport.aspx and check from where you get an official ROM.

The ROMs on the FTP are nice for developers that want to play with different ROMs. But if you are not a developer consider seriously to use an official one.

YES you are right that is exactly what I want to do. I dont want to play and void the warantee.
But the assholes from QTEK they dont let me to download the ROM. They dont like my IMEI number. In the QtekCorp site they refer me to http://www.teleservice.com/ and these guys do not have anything for Qtek I can find out. Do you have a password and user name from an official site so I can get the ROM update ??
Any other idead how do I get an official release of the ROM upgrade ??
I will have also to write to expansys about the problem.

It's a problamatic situation. The only option for you is load the one found on the FTP. Even if it's probably the correct ROM you should be able to get it from Teleservice. On the other hand it's the salesman that's responseble for that your device work.

You can always explain to the salesman that the alarm doesn't ... that's true at least for all old ROMs.

The support level on the devices really vary. My opinion is that such "buggy" device like the Wizard should have good support.

Sometimes when the device is off for power save and with the cell seemingly working (LED is blinking) it is really stuck (it doesnt accept calls, on the other side is ringin). It also has various problems in flight mode after the device goes off and on again it cant find the cell network when I turn-off the flight mode. Similar problems if I leave the WIFI on and after it goes off for power save it soft resets all by itself, corrects only if I perform soft reset.

I used to have the original version of ROM

I have heard that with the new QTek AKU rom the Wifi has problems connecting to the access points. Does anyone have any experience on this. Well, I dont need push email but then are there any additional features that make this ROM worth upgrading. So far I have heard lots of unstabilities with the AKU rom. LIke you mentioned here, and the Wifi problem that my friend is facing.

Can someone let me know the Pros and Cons of this qtek AKU rom.
