First things first if I use this
http://www.digitalera.co.uk/detail.html?productref=86
with the back pack am I right in thinking i will be able to copy files from one SD card to another as well as being able to copy files from the other supported card types?

If I am heading in the right direction then the reason I would like to do this is that I will be away from the computer for about a week (land's end to John O'Groats by Vespa) and will be uploading pics as I take them using Zone1's PpcWebcam software, but also want to be able to upload pics taken by others in the group, so the need to be able to accept other formats of memory cards.

So if anyone as a backpack they dont use could you PM me, Have seen them new for £50 plus postage but as this ride is costing me enough as it is am trying to keep the costs down.

Cheers

Sean

What are you using your backpack for?
The bulk isnt too much of a problem as I wont be leaving it attached just attaching it when I need to transfer pics form one type of memory card to another.
Have you tried the VGA out yet? if so what you reckon to it?

Not what I got the backpack for but I have used it, the video out seem only to be any good for programs like powerpoint and document viewers, have tried using it for video playback but the refresh rate is far too slow to be of any use.

A few of you seem to be getting the backpack just for the card reader for photo storage
My advice would be to get one of these

http://www.storagedepot.co.uk/Products.aspx?action=showproduct&id=222&type=83

40G of photo storage and cheaper than a backpack and card reader

I got one for my honeymoon just backed up photos at the end of each day once back in front of my pc downloaded all photos to pc via usb

Yes that is the same one that I have and it works wonders.

http://www.seeo2.com/product/XdaII/template/ShopItemDetail.vm/shop_item_name/XdaIIBackPack

I mainly use it for presentations at work using the composite out vier powerpoint and the slide show whith photos
I have used the vga and plugged it into a monitor this works fine too.

I do find that it slows the alpine up quite abit but as long as you wait for it to do what its doing then its fine
It did take some fiddling to get the settings right.

I have had it plugged into my tft in the car and run tomtom through it, that was good and no real delay.

I am selling mine as I have upgraded to the universal.
£40 and i will post for free?? pm me if anyone is interested.
I also have managed to get a second universal if if anyone would like to upgrade £280. yet again drop me a line.

nice bit of kit, but unfortunately wouldnt have solved my problem, as what I needed to do was get files from multiple format memory cards onto my Alpine whilst not near a computer.
