paulya.com however.. when u have 1 call on hold and 1 call talking there is a glitch in the skin.. next time im at the pc on 2 calls ill post a screenshot of it.. basically something wasnt made transparent and shows up in ugly red right above the buttons of Swap and such

syn, did you download the e-ten skin at the top of paulya's skin page and then download the black skin and to replace the original theme of the e-ten dialer? There's two downloads to make to get it to go different colors. The e-ten dialer then the color you want. I downloaded the e-ten skin .cab.. installed.. then installed the black colour I wanted and had issue when I soft reset. Gosh -- I can't remember where I found it. I've just always kept an eye out for 3-D's, fractals and abstracts when browsing the internet and would download the ones I ran across that I liked. I finally had to make a whole separate folder to keep them all in.

Thanks for the advice on the Start Menu. Now that I look at it, I think gray would be a better choice.

I'm working on another one right now called Bright Lights. Hopefully, I can have it done before too much longer.

It's part of Theme Generator 2.0 for the Pocket PC. I created some basic themes in this program and then cleaned them up when I found the Theme Generator for Windows CE in this thread. I used the Theme Switcher on my Wizard until I downloaded Spb.

Well, I'm just on a 15-day trial right now. Have tried Resco and wasn't really happy with it, either.

The main gripe I have with Spb at this point is that it uses it's own "default" colors on the Navigation Bar and System Launcher based on my theme colors, rather than the ones I've applied to the theme in Theme Generator CE. If I can fix that, I might keep the program. I like the other functions of it.

Thanks to Mark's help, I'm now ready to upload a couple of themes I did for MY phone. The Black theme is "Webbed", the White/Peach - colored theme is "Wh_at"

Hi - I tried making a tsk first but it just did not work, i will keep trying though because i agree its more convenient. Keep the cab in a convenient place (make sure its properties is read only so it does not self delete) and you can still change themes pretty quickly.

I will try to make an office friendly non-half naked woman, orientation aware theme soon. lol!

Can't find a way to change scroll bar color and if i remember correctly there was another thread on this subject which deduced it was not possible. Make the scrollbar thinner say set to 9 or 10 using this reg tweak.

To change the thickness of the scrollbars at the right/bottom of documents larger than the screen, adjust...
For the horizontal (bottom) scrollbar:

HKLM\System\GWE\cyHScr = 9 (DWORD decimal)

For the vertical (right) scrollbar:

HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr = 9 (DWORD decimal)

The default thickness is 13. You can set the value to pretty much anything you like

I've notice there's a lot of Today screens that have that bottom tray(where the Activesync Icon comes on) missing. I'm running AKU 2.3 and I have no use for this at all. It just takes too much space. I've deleted the Init_Tray from start up but still can't get rid of it. Please help I've been looking for an answer to this for days.
If possible I would also like to know how to replace the "Contacts" or "Calendar" soft keys on the Today screen with something else; for example, "Music" or "Videos"....I appreciate any help...Thanks...

I have a question for you. How do you generate or edit .tsk files ?
I have a tsk file which look superb but the only problem is that the text on today screen is black in color which doesnt go well. I just need to change it to white in color ?

which app is Theme Switcher?????!!?!?

It's part of Theme Generator 2.0 for the Pocket PC. I created some basic themes in this program and then cleaned them up when I found the Theme Generator for Windows CE in this thread. I used the Theme Switcher on my Wizard until I downloaded Spb.

I use themebuilder 2003 to make them (cannot be done in an automatic thememaker at the moment) - you have to use 4 gifs (2 for stwater and 2 for tdywater - different pics for 240x320 and 320x240) - modify the inf file so that it adds these 4 gifs instead of the normal 2 and you get an orientation theme.

p.s. if you want to create your own, pm me and i will send you the files

I have not seen that sanj but i will have a look into it for you, you can certainly make the scroll bar much thinner so its not so noticeable with a reg tweak.

Can't find a way to change scroll bar color and if i remember correctly there was another thread on this subject which deduced it was not possible. Make the scrollbar thinner say set to 9 or 10 using this reg tweak.

To change the thickness of the scrollbars at the right/bottom of documents larger than the screen, adjust...
For the horizontal (bottom) scrollbar:

HKLM\System\GWE\cyHScr = 9 (DWORD decimal)

For the vertical (right) scrollbar:

HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr = 9 (DWORD decimal)

The default thickness is 13. You can set the value to pretty much anything you like

Hi, no you have to add 4 gifs to the inf - named stwater_240_320.gif, stwater_320_240.gif, tdywater_240_320.gif, tdywater_320_240.gif

What are you using to open the cab? I use themebuilder to manually make the cab\tsk

Yes you need to modify the inf as well - i tried such a process with zipgenius but it did not work, so i am not sure it will work with winrar. You need a cab making program - i used themebuilder, the only free cabmaker i know.

Why is stwater not available? The image I want to use is in the save dir.

It's because you have chosen QVGA with different images in Portrait and Landscape. I see this in the statusbar of your theme

So the StartImage(s) must have these names :

stwater_240_320.gif
stwater_320_240.gif

You must have these 2 images for this theme format in application dir.
Make sure you put gif extension ! My program tests this extension.

Windows on PC and Windows on Mobile don't care what is really in image (gif, bmp, png, jpg). They recognize the format of images.

Firstly, Thanks for your Vista QVGA skin. That great and nice skin.
To change the folder icon you can do as below:

1) Create an icon library file (.icl) -- use "Microangelo" other software may not work(maybe I duno how to use :P).

2) Put this icon library file (.icl) to \windows

3) create and icon.lnk with content something like below and put it in you folder.
#<icon library filename>,<icon index>

Example:
you created an icon library called "foldericon.icl" and inside this library you have 5 different icon and the 4th icon is for "games folder". So you can create an icon.lnk with content like below:
#foldericon.icl,4

note : you can create icon.lnk file using notepad and save as .lnk (not .txt), and you have to create different icon.lnk file for each folder.

Dialer that I'm using is actually I hack the phcanrc.dll, im not yet release for dialer with "smartdialing" feature :P , give me sometime to work it out ,

but this is just tested in XDA II not sure this work with others machine.

Question for ilauncher seen above... I was wondering how to get the vertical spacing between icons in ilauncher to be close like that. in mine there spaced vertically far apart. i want them close together like that. theres lots of space wasted on my today screen. i dont want to have to scroll. my icons are only 32x32 so they should be the same as his above. in the settings theres only horizontal spacing... can anybody help?[

They can't be removed completely but the color can be changed so they are more discrete with a thememaker.

I was going to suggest VITO Screen Capture 1.0 The trial version is good for 14 days, but I liked it so well, I bought it -- $5.95

It installs directly to the desktop, captures the PDA screen while hooked up through USB, so you can choose the directory on your PC where you want to store the screenshot without having to sync it from the PDA to the PC via Active Sync. :)

Open up the phone's ZIP program and unzip the files. Then extract the files to the phone's Windows directory, overwriting the existing files for your current dialer. Do a soft reset or use VJJPhone Toggle and the next time you open your phone, you'll see the new dialer.

BTW, you need to be running the Eten Dialer on your phone in order to install the theme.

I liked your WAD interface but had a question.
When you load the WAD theme, is there a way one can include some of Today pluggins too. LIke for example, I really like WeatherMap on the today screen. But if I load the Wad theme, I really have a hard time time to figure out if I can also hae some place dedicated to show the plugin.

Any directions ? please let me know

reason why i dont use my total plug ins; is because it slows the whole thing down when you rotate the screen if the keyboard is open and closed

Sure!! Use ThemeGen 1.6 to build it. Mark posted the link earlier in this thread where you can download it from.

If you already have uploaded the Nebulae theme, ThemeGen can read it from the source and you can customize it with your pictures.

If you already have uploaded the Nebulae theme, ThemeGen can read it from the source and you can customize it with your pictures.I'll give it a shot... I'm no artist, I figured it would be harder :)

heres a couple for ya,

1, is there a program out there designed to show the clock and or date while in stand by?? This program would allow you to see the time without turning the device on.... simply look at the screen and you know what time it is,,,, this program would also not keep or turn on the back light...

2, where can I pick up a program that will allow me to make and install my own phone dialer.... the default one is boring, and the program that someone suggested needs a couple other programs to use it... Im looking for an all in one...

I would also like to know. Mine was fine until I put the new 02 ROM on, and now it's taking up 2 lines of my today screen, and I have a stupid battery meter instead of the time in the bar rather than the time on the today screen.

1. There is an option in Wisbar Advance to use a custom theme, and this is where I selected the house (home) icon.
2. The bottom bar is the option is iLauncher to show icons in the bottom tray. I created a tab of all the options I wanted in the bottom then selected it for "shell tray display".

Hi mike that usually means that the gif's are not named correctly and check in options in the middle of the screen - normal theme should be set to qvga and files named stwater.gif and tdywater.gif and should be in the themegen directory.

For those who want an extended theme to use with their extended today screen (no soft keys) here is a modified Paulya theme.

Also changed some of the black keys that did not let you see TCPMP etc.. controls properly. - should work on normal screen too.

I found a theme named "Black Curves" on http://mobile-sg.com that I fell in love with, so I thought I would build an Eten Dialer skin to go with it.

Since this thread didn't seem to find a solution to the "black bluetooth headset icon" problem, on the dialer skin, I added some lighter color in the upper right corner. Note: there's also a mic icon that appears there when you use the Mute function.

The files in the zip are for portrait mode only. I may add landscape mode the next time I have (or like today - don't have ;-) ) a day to waste.

Hi, yes use dcinobar and the softkeys still work - just the buttons not visible. Softkeys are visible in other apps its just the today screen thats exempt.

Hey guys, just read through this and changed my today to a nice black themed background and top and bottom bar, but for some reason my messaging window is full of horizontal black and white bars that make it hard to read the text unless the item is highlighted... any ideas?

I agree - I tried it and noticed a slow down and its a memory sucker = no way! I like my fast simple setup with 25mb after a soft reset. :D

I agree. I installed i becuase of its features but after a few days I just got tired of it using so much memory. Maybe 1 day there will be super lite version or a similiar product.

Just deing able to see how many voice mails and txt and miss calls at 1 time is very important to me on the todayscreen just too much memory taking up makes more of a hassle to me.

I feel like in these last 3 months, I have tried nearly every plugin mentioned on this forum for my screen, and after using all of them, the only ones I stick with are PB and iLauncher. Except I use Weather Panel instead of Pocket Weather, and I have ContactBreeze even though it sucks. But the update should for it should be pretty sweet.

theme is called O2 and was posted a few pages back. I'm using wisbar advance and the vista lite theme which i'm guessing is giving me the signal strength icon in the top bar.

check your WA settings if you checked the box to show the signal box. if you have then it should show on your taskbar.

I don´t know what it´s called exactly because mine is set to german. But if you look at the settings of WA you should find a page that looks like on the pic i attached. open the dropdown menu and you should find a page for the signalbox. check the box which says show this element. and then hit the save button. now you should see the signal in the taskbar.

Is there a way to make my Today screen look like my desktop? I would prefer the "Start" appear on the bottom left instead of the top left. I would also like a taskbar on the bottom of the screen, which would go well with the bottom-left Start button. Then the rest of the screen will have icons for everything I need. Together this would look similar to my PC desktop, which I would feel more comfortable using. Any help is appreciated!
