THERE'S WAD STANDALONE,too.
Trust me, wise today can't hog system.
I am using WAD on wizard and i am still able to have 36 mb mem free...

WAD is faster with same plugins from today, than today itself, especially with menubar turned off.
WA2 sux imo. i do not need this...

Is there a user guide or a manual available anywhere at all. The app is simply mind blowing. never once crashed, no lockups just amazing. As of now , jut creatd tabs an used custom apps with plugins, am sure more can be done, but am handicapped as most of the sites that talk abt it are in russian(?) or some other language. Do u happen to have any guide or something like that ?

it is one of the best apps i ever used.

- main reason - .png are SMALL files, transparency is used in easy way.

works on wm03/05/06, maybe on wm02...

give me a word and i will tell you everything about this app.

well, this is WA source based far better than WA app...shame idd..

i just gave old screens to show pocketage....that wm03 machine was killed by HARET.exe(h8..) :(

WAD won't be able to load htc home plugin until hklm/software/microsoft/today/items/ type=5 key is not changed to 4.

WAD enables dpad steering on home plugin :)

Hey wonderboy33895, HTC is only for WM^ at least any of the ones I have found here. I actually am using rlToday to get ethe same effect. I also use mortscript to pull data into it. I use a variation of the ones here:

This is my today.
Tried to keep it as simple and as efective for use with my finger and D-pad.
Basically it is WA2 with iLauncher and SPB Suite with some modification :)

Yes, It is possible by using shortcuts to the specified number and use the photo as an icon.

Eg: I use VJ Dialer. Simply invoke the VJ Dialer Shortcut and in the command line put the phone number u want, choose custom icon, and select the appropriate photo as the icon.

How would you add a graphic (like a line) to a Pocktage screen that isn't tied to a shortcut/today item? I'd like to be able to organize some shortcuts (see attached screenshot and having some lines or shaded areas would really improve the look.

yes that's a screenshot of Pocketage. Since I posted that, I added some thin lines, to help the look of the screen (see attached screenshot). To do that, I added a shortcut to a small program and then selected the line PNG's as the custom icons. The only problem with this is that if I hit the line with my thumb instead of one of the icons next to it, it activates whatever program I had to use for the shortcut. Anyway around this so that the lines are inactive?

You know, I was going to suggest the same, except link the lines to a dummy or a non existent program.That way you can avoid the wrong application being executed. At worst you will get a invalid link, which IMHO is better.

Other than that, you can try and put some lines on the appropriate sides to the icons and they might show up with the desired result ( slow and painful )
eg: your top left File Explorer link ( put a line on the right side corner).

If this is confusing, I Will come back on-line in cpl of hours time, will make a screen shot to explain more.

btw, how did you manage to get the tab icons to that size, I use PocketAge but am not able to get them bigger than 16x16 ?.

Thanks....good idea. Any idea how I can extract/copy/save the default icon image from the target programs? Most of the smaller icons you see on that screen are just the default icons of the programs.

As far as the icons for the Tabs...I set the Tab Font variable under Pocketage Options to 32 and then used 32x32 TGA files.

I have a question for you...I'm thinking about steering away from wa2...I noticed in some of your screens you have a black top bar. How do you get rid of the thin gradient line below it? (it is usually a thin black to white line just below the top bar on wm5 devices)

i am on wm06... it is theme made with themegenCE, but you can do same thing by using uitweaker and its module - tdyschemechanger - "blackbars" in "customise the color...". colors are held until theme is changed(of course...) - themegence embeds registry entries, which are stored so, i think that renaming reg entry branch will make every theme blackbared...

Extracting icons could be dicey and time consuming affair, it's easier to make them :-). Fantastic icons are available at www.deviantart.com, just browse to the category icons and select what you want.

I am an icon freak and have a huge bank of icons. So let me know what sort of icons you want, I can probably mail them to you.

I'm looking at deviantart. Cool icons. What do i need to open an *.ip file if I downlaod it?

I've got stand-alone Icons for the other 2 I have on the screen: my HP calc and my expense report software. Anyting you have handy would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking about doing some icons where it looks like they are peeking out from behind the line. I've seen that look on some RLtoday skins and liked it. See attached

They are mostly zip files, if there are any files with ".ip" as extensions, just rename them to zip and try. As for the icons, will make some post them later tonite ( 9 - 10 pm Indian Standard Time) :-)

Deanrh, I have attached few icons, some relavant to what you need and many general purpose icons, I have also include a whole menuset of icons ripped off my nokia e65 ( bmps). There are also some .svg files attached, use a vector editor like corel , they are vector based and are extremely easy to scale and modify. The rest are .pngs, u can use any standard editor to modify them.

I had posted a response earlier this week, but it doesn't seem to have made it. Anyway, thanks much for the icons. I wil definetly be using some of them. By the way, I found out that the trick about icons on the tab is not limited to 32 x 32. You can set it larger and use larger icons.

I've really been getting into Pocketage thanks to the info that Nothin posted, but I've had some problems with it. It seems that when I have it loaded, and have to do a soft reset, I sometimes have to soft reset several times to get the PPC back up and running. I removed Pocketage and the problem has gone away.

Any insights or suggestions?

Here's a nice Today theme for all you "scenery" enthusiasts. You can install the .tsk file to the storage card (no folder), voila the theme is in the Today settings.

Double tap the .tsk file only (all the rest can be deleted from the zip srchive. Go to windows/IA Zip, tap, tap/hold/cut the .tsk file, go to storage card, scroll all the way to the bottom, tap/hold/PASTE.

Rather than having a flat background or photo, with a bit of fiddling I managed to create a 'skin' that I can apply as a background. It just requires today plug-ins remaining a fixed height.

To do this I:

1) Screen grab the today screen (I use the free Screen Capture app)
2) In Photoshop crop the top 2 lines of pixels (background is placed two pixels down)
3) Choose a background texture of your choice as a layer under your screengrab
4) Perform any bevelling/etc as you wish to line up
5) Save as bmp and copy to phone

Double tap the .tsk file only (all the rest can be deleted from the zip srchive. Go to windows/IA Zip, tap, tap/hold/cut the .tsk file, go to storage card, scroll all the way to the bottom, tap/hold/PASTE.

If a bmp file ext. is a valid upload, why do I keep having to re-size a 240x320 bmp to a 241x269 jpg file before it can be uploaded? I'm missing something here.

Wel... what exactly do you want? The tsk with background is homemade, the weather prgoram is weatherpanel with Son-of-Commuter theme and the PhoneAlarm is homemade as well...
I don't do CABs....

Yes, but not easily. You have to edit the EffComm.dll, a program called ResHack will allow you to do that, and then you have to re-sign the dll. You can get ResHack here - http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/ , and it's free. I don't have a dll signer though, but I've see links to them on here before a few times. I think the name of one is called signtool.

yup, it is old paradox build screenshot, WAD with its links as today - dpad is working fine with it.
these emulators work quite ok(i.e. finalburn is awesome).
psx, amiga, and mostly gba emulation is not in range, though...

Attached new version with dynamic clock and calendar using rlToday. Also, top and bottom bar hidden using Vj's toggleToday. All available from this forum, just to a search. Attached the rlToday skin. You may need to adjust the XML (rlToday) for the height.

As you see, the clock is not as good as it should be. All the hands seems to be running away from the center. I have to use a PNG as the hourhand just to fill in the middle. Anyone know how to solve this without using a PNG as the hourhand?

yes, it is one of paradoxes, everything you see is inside rom(no extrom, but cabs inside rom are ready to be installed, other soft is ready to be used), i made that today in 5 minutes from flash.
BUT, there's no link to that rom - i will make final, last 318 build, don't know when.

this is NOT spb soft!
i am enemy of heavyweight spb software!
i will NEVER use ANY spb product, ever!
(upd..i was using spb backup for a while - till trial ended).

"tabs" are from pocketage, one of unique small today plugins with awesome potential.
it is ONLY program, that can move TODAY PLUGS HORIZONTALLY, and scale them - possibilities are just....wide.

Next part is tonaya weather to go

bottom is batterystatus with BSClockTheme

With Wizbar too. The “Hide the SoftKey bar” option allows you to hide the softkey bar on the Today screen. ;)

This is going to be confusing since I installed it in French but I'll do my best guessing English names:

Removing Today's SoftKey bar:
- Start, Program, WisBarAdvance, WizBarAdvanced Settings, SoftKey bar
- Check Hide the SoftKey bar, Apply, Ok, Ok, Ok, Ok, Ok, X

I have a T-Mobile wing and am looking to customize the Today home screen. It currently has a small bar at the bottom of the screen that has a few icons on it. I want to delete this icon bar? Any ideas?
Also, i am wanting to put text onto the Today screen and also on S2U2 screen when S2U2 is activated. Please help.
