Can someone explain to me what each one of these items are? They are default startup items I've seen in WM5.

CapNotify (I assume this is for showing the C/Dot icon? Why is it defautly disabled then?)

Init_Tray (Somethin to do with the tray appearntly?)

poutlook (pocket outlook?)

ssdaemon (?)

services (i know what services at all, shouldnt these automatically be started with windows?)

WiFiInit (WiFi has to be enabled at boot?)

ssdaemon is the OEM voice dialer applcation that comes with the phone/image.

If you use MS voice command then you can remove it from your startup. It also causes a bug in the notifications: duplications.

If you don't use it then bin it :D

Hi
poutlook.lnk = pocket outlook process (necessary for pocket word & excel)
but some people delete it and find no change

capnotify = notification process concerning caps lock/shift
there is a hack from this to enable indicator

traylaunch = to launch tray in today screen - if you delete that you will have no tray & more space

ssdaemon = some sad demon that microsoft puts in every ppc
to cause all those bugs! ;)

Anyone know what custTDYTSK.exe does and if it's needed as a startup file.

The name suggest that it is a Custom Today Skin/Theme "Thingy". I am not sure where it comes from and what it is supposed to do. I am running the QTEK 2.17 ROM on my T-Mobile Vario.

That controls the trayright at the bottom of the screen. Delete it if you want 15 lines extra or so.

poutlook (pocket outlook?)

Thats your contacts list.

i wouldn't agree. i removed poutlook.lnk from my startup folder and it didn't affect anything i could notice. contact list is working without problems, same thing with pocket outlook (text messages, mms, email etc.).
