Hi Guys,

Thanks for the new German ROM. It's incredibly fast and the programs work perfectly. However there is a small problem.

Suddenly I do have problems with ActiveSync 4.1: It says: Synchronisierung konnte nicht abgeschlossen werden. Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang. Unterstützungscode 80070006.

What does that mean?

Does that have to do with the new ROM?
Because it did work before the Upgrade to 2.01 German - even with the Original 2.01 by Tofclock.

i've tried to remove the dsm files ... but , i think these files are a list of addins files like *.xml , *.provxml and other ....

MMs account and connections names are created with provxml files ... if you remove it , no account and no connections names :/

Now I understand why you have made the changes to MMS in an existing .provxml.

Now, it takes more time until bootprogress is finished. :cry:

Sorry about the problems but deleting the .DSM files was the last thing I have done.
I was sure they were not needed anymore. This files are not documented by MS but after a litel research in google I thought this files are part of the certification thing and that is dissabled.

the unique way to create mms account automaticly is with provxml file :/

Hello,
after the installation of the WM2005 Ver. 2.01a32Ger and Soft (Navigon MN5, SPB PocketPlus3.01, SPB Weather, XPUSCALAR 2.91, any Games) my Qtek hangs after a softreset in the second Bootscreen (Normally Windows with Ver. Informations). With WM05 2.00a Ger and the same other software i don´t have this Problem.

I found one issue with the copy and paste feature. When long-click on a text in a note (synchronized via AS) the system hangs.

Copy paste works in other apps correct.

You should install the version with 32 megs ramdisk. This one should be workin fine.

as far as i understand only the ...32GER is stable enough. the ...00GER and ...64GER are still under development or bug fixing. 32, 64, 00 means the size of an additional ram-disk for storing data or programs. imagine, you have 128mb ram in your device. if you take 32mb for ram-disk you then have 96mb available as real ram for running applications. if you decice to take the 64mb ram-disk version you have 64mb for running programs. the 00 version means no ram-disk, full 128mb ram for running programs available. i prefer the 64mb version.

Yes the new qtek AKU2 rom.
It is very similar to the T-Mobile test rom but without A2DP.

by the way, yesterday evening i have realized that your latest 2.01a32GER has a working SimToolKit STK on board :-) this is what i am waiting for for ages!!! i can now use my united mobile sim-card for making cheap calls all around europe. in the past only receiving calls has worked but not making calls. and now it works. great job.

I've managed to port over 834 files (all OS files) of the new QTEK 9100 rom to this one so the most problems are solved and the Transcriber is now working in word too.

Yes, I can confirm this behaviour with my o2 account.

@bepe: perhaps we need the SmsAlertFix after all to make MMS work correctly. Maybe the WapPush message which is transfered by SMS cannot be recognized without it.

I had to write two programs, one to make it easier to building new roms and one to analyse existing roms.

Finaly the dsm files are deleted (except of one) -> more space for aps.

How far is the new version:
-The new rom contains the complete os files of a German rom (AKU2) so all problems with the transcriber are gone. (the drivers are the old one.)
ToDo:
-Add software
-Reg settings

Bepe, very good work! I've had problems with my Qtek 2020 and Opel Telephone Portal. With native 2003 it did not work, with BTTools I could connect and answer phone calls. But now, with WM5, it is full functional, including making calls, telephone book and last calls list. Great! :D

What currently is not working is the transmission of the antenna signal strength, but that does not matter, it's only cosmetics.

But I now have problems with camera button (not working), recorder button (only somtimes working). I've searched in this forum and found out, that others had problems with these buttons, too, but with other WM5 versions.:cry:

With the original ROM there was a internal battery state display, now it is gone. Where is it, is it still needed?

It's not shown, because it's normally not needed anymore. All your Data is in the ROM, which means, your phone cannot loose these Data because of a drained Battery.

I say normally, because the Ramdisk is still emptied, when both batteries are empty.

Hiya bepe.

First off, thanks for the great rom. Works like a charme on both my Himalayas, except for one thing

I'm running a Bluetrek G2 paired against both devices. While I was on WM2K3, the connection was (kind of) released when there was no sound to be sent to the headset, making it possible to answer either phone(whichever rang first) and also have the headset automatically connect to the right phone when making a call.

Now, on WM2k5 it seems that the pda keeps the connection to the headset locked so that no other device can talk to it. Is there any way to make the BT stack automatically release the connection after use?

Turning off bluetooth manually is not an option, since
a) it is not allowed to touch your phone while driving a car
b) turning device a off when device b rings is too late
c) it's annoying to do things manually

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just for the Exchange guys on this forum: Although Exchange 2k3 SP2 Push mail works for me, you cannot sync if you have set security policies with the existing German WM5 ROM (Don't know about TofClock English!).

My Universal enforces the policy after the first sync, with the Himalaya ROM the sync fails with some error message and will only pick up if you either disable the policy on Exchange or alternatively add the user's mailbox to the policy exception table...

Seems like the security policy enforcement is pretty deep in the OS and maybe hooking in relatively early, as it will also provide the remote wipe functionality...

Dammit! I had hoped to equip our hole company with old Ebay Hima's - now we need to spend money for that extra bit of security!

installation and first tests worked perfectly, BUT i have one problem:

under settings->system->memory, the configuration is 14.54mb data-storage and 88.33mb program-storage.

is this correct? every installation i tried (like navigon or falk navigator) just asks "device", "ramdisk" or "storage card" for destination.
"device" is data-storage, so how can i install software into the program-storage?

i was not able to install navigon in "device" because navigon needs more than my 12mb free data-storage. i was able to install falk navigator in the data-storage but after that i only had 2mb free and also after a reset, the allocation wasn't changed.

so, i can't use the 88.33mb program-storage?
or am i just not able to understand wm05? :?:

You should have the followin areas 32 MB Datenspeicher (Disc On a Chip) there you can install Programs, 32 MB Ramdisk there you can also install programs, 96 MB Programmspeicher there the programs are executed you cannot install programs there its like ram on your PC (programs are installed on your Harddrive not in your ram).

But back to your problem, its no problem to install Mobile Navigator on your SD-Card, only thing is if you use TMC, there is a file written every few seconds (Deadly for Flash-Memory) , then you have to change a line in the GPSTMCInfo.ini there you can say where to write the GPSTMCInfo.txt (ideally on you Ramdisk).

You can also check if there are programs installed on Storage or on Ramdisk you can install very good on your SD-Card (nearly all except apps writing every few minutes automatically data, or very systemnear apps.)

Keep in mind that WM2k5 writes Temp files into storage, so you need always some free space on it. I the past i installed a lot of the programs on storage or Ramdisk, but now first place to install is the SD-Card, only if this fails i try another place.

Yes actually I have exactly the same problem... It is a bug! Does anyone know if this problem occurs in the other non-German versions of the WM2005 ROM? It is a nuisance, that Notiz keeps on closing by itself.. Other users please report if there is the same problem on your PPC.. Keep up the good work bepe!

My initial tests with bepe´s new version gave the following results:

- good overall performance of user interface
- Transcriber functional
- Copy and Paste from notepad works again
- L2TP VPN using certificate to W2K3-Server via Internet and NAT-Traversal works! Most Universal and Wizard devices wont :-(
- GPS applet in Control Panel seems to be missing. However, I did not try my serial GPS yet
- MMS transmission was successful
- no MMS reception at all. I tried with T-Mobile DE and O2 DE SIM
- Battery applet ("Stromversorgung") lacks indicator for backup battery. Not needed for native WM5-devices but crucial for Himalaya RAMdisk (o.k., never saw it beeingg less than 100%)

Yes, but two problems left:
- MMS problem (I've no idea how to solve that...)
- WAV file "Set as ringtone" is not working

MMS is really a problem because I've never used that.
So I decided yesterday to make my GPRS configuration (for the first time) and I did it. Result was that my prepaid card was empty before I could even send a MMS to activate the reception… (Never thought it would be that expensive)

I got an XDA 2 yesterday and upgraded to most recent ROM posted here. Works like charm.I have got one problem though, it seems impossible to send MMS...I configured connections as described, configured Composer, Connection to MMS GPRS connection is established, when device is trying to send MMS it states "Startfehler - Nachricht kann nicht gesendet werden und verbleibt im Postausgang"

What am I doing wrong?

By the way: Internet Connection through GPRS over configured connection is working perfectly....

I would appreciate any comments on that behaviour....

- first reformated my DOC with Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0.exe, now Storage Total size is 30.53MB
- then updated with WM2k5_2.02a.32GER

Modifications:
- to turn on LCD when SMS appears
installed HIM_WM2k5_SMS_Alert_FIXv001
(http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,108/func,view/id,18897/catid,26/limit,15/limitstart,15/)
- to remove battery icon in the taskbar :
replaced shell32.exe (http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,108/func,view/id,18750/catid,26/)
and inserted HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ -> DWord:ShowTitleBarClock=1
- to remove screen-rotate-icon :
edited registry HKLM\Services\ScreenRotate\ -> DWord:ShowIcon=0
- to activate the GPS applet:
removed "Redirect" from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings]
- to deactivate the camera click:
replaced \Windows\ShutterSound.wav with my own (empty, muted sound)
- because i am used to hear
added soundfiles Alarm1 - Alarm4 from WM2003 ROM

open Problems:
- Problem with carkit, only the phone audio goes via the external speaker
do you know an little Program, to redirect all sounds to external speaker manually? It seems to be a greater Problem, to do this automatically when inserting the MDA into the carkit.
- MMS problem
not for me, its to expensive

Result:
- the best and fastest working existing german ROM
- all functions i need (smartdial, connection manager, real german ROM ..)
- only a few known bugs

I found an easier way to mute camera-click:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Pictures\Camera\OEM\ -> DWord:ShutterSoundVolume=0]


and an interesting tweak to automatically set the phone to get time and timezone information from the network:
[HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\ -> DWord:ShowTimeZonesPage=1]
then you will find under "Telefon Einstellungen" a new input possibility "Zeitzonen"


:( But there is nowhere a solution for the "carkit-Problem" :(

Free speach, handsfree dialing incl. separate phone book.
Once your mobile was paired every time you sit in the car it connects automatically. For me it's working very well and I'm very satisfied.
Should work with other cars as well.

regarding to your post : My Carkit is first of all installed and ready to work, so I dont think I need a new one. But the most important thing is : I built a very strange Solution, which works perfect under 2003 :

CarKit (t-mobile) with GPS Mouse TMC connected to original T-Mobile Carkit Console (non bluetooth)
Also the Carkit is complex connected to my Car-Stereo which allowes me to listen to Mp3's, Watch Movies, Navigate and phone through my Carkit.

I dont want to destroy it just because of an non solved problem at all, it cost me much work and time and money :)

To make the problem a less smaller : I found out, that the problem is also in WM 2003SE so the change must have happened in these ROMS, too.

Problem fact :

2005 does not recognise the CarKit and loads specific Settings (output sound via Connector)

I want to help with all I can do, but I'm not as deep in thematics as bepe or tofclock or buzz at all, but I will test everything if they would ask me to test.

Furthermore a little sidenote : I read on buzzdev, that buzz himself does not have a carkit to test, perhaps we could collect some money to buy one for him, so he could try to solve it by himself.

What do you think ? Same goes for bepe and tofclock for sure.

I little bit more attention to the postings around WM 2K5 as well as around tho the Alpine Forum would make quickly clear to you, that WM2K5 is absolutely not possible to install to Qtek 2020i (ala Alpine, aka XDA IIi,...)

Just use the search in the forum and you will get a plenty of information as this question already has been asked for at least a good dozen times.
