Finally have push e-mail working (well) on my K-Jam. Problem is, everytime i get an e-mail, it wakes the device up and turns on the screen. Is there any way to turn that off? I've deactivated PhoneAlarm and checked all of the settings in Sounds and Notifications. I'm using the standard K-Jam ROM.

Any thoughts?

well....as you read on your post at howard forums, it sounds like you aren't actually using push e-mail, sounds more like AUTD as MS has specifically said this was NOT part of the ROM. so unless it's phone alarm doing this, u are using AUTD.

S**T!. When it started working, i assumed that it was push, not AUTD. But i've been charged for almost 500 text messages. Can you use "when item arrives" with Push? No matter what I do, if I select "when item arrives" it forces me to enter an address. I'm using the latest K-Jam Rom.

you are using AUTD because the exchange server either does NOT have sp2 installed for 2003, OR does not have push e-mail enabled. the reason the device comes on is because it's shown as an SMS.

Now i'm set to sync every 5 minutes and it works. There is NO email address configured? Why is that working?

My guess is that when you configure to sync every XX minutes, you are not using the push feature but rather initiating a sync from the device. This would wake the device up to do the sync and thus allow the vibrate to com through.

But, when I do this (set to xx minutes) the device does not wake up, email still arrives, but the device stays off.
