Is there any way to skin the ugly as sin Tmobile phone app on the MDA? Maybe a different phone app all together? Thanks, the one on the phone looks worse than my first Hello World program on the C64 for cryin' out loud.

I'm sure there is. Zombienexus provides skins that work, so it can't be too difficult.
