View Full Version : problem with my magician with WM5

Hi all, I have read through the forum and I saw that everyone said that it is impossible to put Windows Mobile 5 into Magician.

Here are some proofs:

Ok, here is my problem. I received this as a gift... as you can see, the OS is in Chinese. I tried to install an English flash in it using instructions provided from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Magician .. but it doesn't work.. MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe keeps complainting that it cannot flash the phone.

I don't care if it's using WM3 or WM4 or WM5... as long as I can use it... can anyone help? thanks.

Its not a magician, it has an Omap processor.

That's HTC Charmer, not Magician.

Ah okay makes sense now... why would anyone want to put a magician case on it?

The Magician and Charmer have the same design(case). T-mobile sales them as MDA Compact and Compact II. The Compact is in silver, the Compact II is in a dark silver ; )
Use a HTC Charmer Rom, i think there's one on the ftp.

I hav imate Jam Same as ur MDA.
I also want WM5.0 in my Jam.
Can u help me from where did u got the ROM WM5.0 for ur Mobile ??
and it requires ROM more than 64Mb ??? is this true ?
I hav 64Mb RAM and 64MB Rom
Help me out please...

Incase you want to know, you can flash its ROM with aWizard (I did that before). Do a search in this forum.

BTW, you can tell it is an MDA Compact with pink/black face is a Charmer. And the face plate is plastic, while Magician (as I heard) is made of 'metal'.
