I have read that some magicians will recognize these large fast cards, but mine won't. I've just got the card from ebay sent from USA for £60.50, came in a few days. I was wondering if it could be a problem with the rom version. I have just installed UK_11200_131_11210_ship.exe from the ftp site, it's nicer than the t mobile rom. So maybe there is somthing in some other extended rom that would fix this? or maybe theres a patch. Shall I put the card back on ebay and get the mmc one?

How is your SD now?
I've also got a adapt 4GB sd and have no problems with it.

I notice I have exactly the same big storage rom as youself and radio, but my magician still will not recognize the card, I'm sure you can imagine that I wish it would. Out of interest what have you installed in the way of extended rom cabs? At the moment I have a bit of a mish mash of things i've found on the ftp. Thanks for your reply, been waiting ages for someone to say something.

@uniqueboy: Is your Adata 4GB color green or pink? If you check out the 4GB compatibility thread in the Magician Accessories forum, they claim that the green one will work but not the pink.

Had a look at the thread before, mine is the pink sd card, I think the green one is the 200x mmc card. What colour is yours?

Hey, I bought the same card, except I bought 4GB Adata MMC card with 150X turbo. I think the SD version is not compatible, but my MMC card works fine.

I have the 4gb Adata MMC card 200x and works fine.

I did read that the SD cards were not compatible, I had not realised that some did (ie the green ones as suggested here).

Not that I am missing any thing ie MMC > SD..

I had a look on their website for their products:

Now everyone knows what everyone else is talking about.

So does anyone know why some cards are incompatible whith our magicians? Is it because windows mobile 2003 se just will not read fat 32? Can the cards be reformatted to fat 16? Or would a piece of software do the trick?

Windows Mobile 2003 SE understands FAT32 (at least my Rom Version 1.13 does).
I have the green 4 GB MMC Adata Card and it works like a charm.

Did you notice that MMC Cards are slightly cheaper than SD cards?
This is because manufacturers have to pay royalty fees for SD, while MMC is public domain.

I reformatted mine to FAT 16 and it works great! I tried FAT 32, but it ran slow compared to FAT 16. Also, I think FAT 32 isn't always compatible with digital cameras.
