downgrade back to oem cingular rom

i recently tried to update my 8125 cingular to the 2.08 cingular ruu with a2dp and the radio becomes changed but the rom version is still the 1.8.1.11 or whatever it was. i would like to either find a way to fix this and get this rom working because i am dying to have a2dp or how i may go back to my cingular rom. i tried to use the ruu file from htc to downgrade and i get an error 296 upgrade only message. could anyone shed some light on this for me?

In the FTP site try using

ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/Cingular_RUU_WIZARD_217_AKU2_WWE.exe for the upgrade

This worked fine for my 8125, and it is running much faster..

To downgrade to the ori ROM try using
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/Cingular_RUU_1.8.11.1.WWE.ship.exe
