I have recently purchased a QTek 9000 and I am very happy with the device. I was wondering if someone knew of UPNP compatible software which could be loaded on the Universal to access media on my PC.
While I have full network access without re-encoding my videos TCPMP has to buffer because of the large amount of data to display. Instead of having to re-encode what if someone could write an app using the UPNP specification to access media on a PC.
I have a networked DVD Player (Avel LinkPLayer) it can access media on my PC and display it on my TV. If for some reason it cannot display the video (unknown DIVX variant or some other codec entirely), the "server software" can transcode the video to play on the device in real-time. Of course, this requires processing on the PC side but this would be great for watching movies on a network in your home without transcoding.
Any takers?
