I thought I had my k-jam setup and working smoothily with push email, etc. -- then today I began experiencing errors when I have it connected by the USB port to my PC at work -- will not sync the server, only the local computer. It syncs with the server fine when on GPRS but not when it's connected via USB activesync.

Any thoughts? I've tried reconfiguring the settings but any changes I make to "configure server" affect it when on GPRS/EDGE so that's not it. And, since it syncs fine with the local PC, I'm baffled.

Thanks!

Can you paste the error message and number you're getting?

Not sure if you tried this, but if you go to Activesync on your desktop and select File => Connection Settings and in the pulldown menu that says "This computer connected to", try selecting "The Internet" as opposed to "Automatic" or "Work". This worked for me when I was experiencing the very same issue.

Here is a screen capture with the error msg. but I'm not sure what to change in connections -- as i've said, it was working but no longer does.

My error code on activesync says :

The server can not be reached. This can be caused by temporary network conditions. Support Code: 80072ee2

I can connect wirelessy, but not when connected by the USB port to the pc (although it will connect to the pc - just not the Exchange Server).

I tried saying the computer was connected through the Internet and that didn't work. Any clue?

Yup, I had the same problem. I was just told by someone on the forum that your Windows XP firewall is blocking the syncing "even if you have specifed Activesync in the exceptions tab".

As of now, I just disabled the xp firewall, and I could sync right away properly in minutes. But well, disabling the firewall is not a good idea so I will be hunting how I can modify my exceptions to cover this syncing process. I will keep you guys updated when I do that.

So as of now, just check by disabling the firewall... temporarily.

I was advised by a great person on this board to uncheck the connect through proxy box in the settings (internet) and I can now get push, sync over the air and when connected to the pc through the usb cable (even through a usb hub). It worked great! After all that I realized I don't really need to sync when connected but it is nice it works!

Hopefully this works for you also!
