This cab should work in all WM5 versions

To make it run at startup, just include the following registry entries, and place the files from the ZIP in /Windows directory.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init]
"Depend32"=hex:14,00,1E,00
"Launch32"="BootLogo.exe"
how can i inlcude those registries... couldn't find any steps .. pls help.. i have already unzipped those two files (bootlogo.exe and bootlogo.bmp) in the Windows folder (PDA)
PlS tell me how can i add those registries.. i'm newbie.. and have never done that. thanks

i've got another issue on tuma 1.4:
when i power on my BA sometimes the down button seals and i can't do something until softreset. But it happens onlu sometimes.
I've tried o reproduce this bug (only poweroff button press and use today lock plugin) - i didn't catch it. It happens in 50% times i turn my BA on. 2003se 1.40 and tuma 1.3 - all is fine.
What can i do?

I think i'll flash back to 2003se. This small bugs don't let me forgot about my BA and it's problems. I have to scratch out of this bugs instead ot to use my BA.

Try this... it helped me, and you will also need to run a cab from the TMO ext_rom to link the mms app with the messaging app... I think it has 'shortcut' in the title!
EDIT: As a quick note - I found that this all came together if I did things in the following order...
1. Flash ROM
2. Install MMS/Album etc (if not included in ROM)
3. Install CAB file below
4. Install shortcut CAB (CAB-Shortcut-O2UK-22Aug05.CAB for me)
5. Install Service Provider Acct Settings (GPRS/MMS etc)
After I completed this my MMS worked fine, if I added the Service Provider settings any earlier then the MMS account wasn't set up and MMS had only the 'default test' settings... I suppose you could do 5 again at any time and see if it helps...

afaik the only usefull files there is the xml file ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Blue%20Angel/CM_Entries.xml, which you should put in \Windows...

@Midget,
Yeah, I realise it doesn't seem to have anything relevant, but believe me, I had no MMS folder in Messaging, added this CAB and it was there... I'm sure I did nothing else, but MMS still wouldn't work, I was then advised to run the 'shortcut' CAB which also seems to have nothing to do with it, and everything fell into place..
wierd, but true :?
As you stated the bulk of the file is irrelevant, and if you don't have some of the apps installed you get the 'Can't start...' error at reset... but you can remove the links it sets up anyway...

read the bottom line, the xml file /should/ be all you need without all these shortcuts going everywhere :P

Tuatara,
I wanted to start off by thanking you for donating your time and dedication to such a project so many people can benefit from! I am sure this takes a kind of patience I could never dream of having. I have correctly installed version 1.4 of WM5 and couldn't be more impressed with all the features i've been living without! The installation instructions were extremely clear making the upgrade extremely easy (Easy enough for a 14 year old! :P Yes, i'm 14! That's how great you did! )
Thanks Again,
Alex

This development looks very promising. I tried some of the first WM5 roms, but they were just too unstable and had too many BT bugs. Anyway, I've been running 2003SE for a while now but would like to get back in the WM5 world again.
So, the basic question I have is should I go ahead and use the 1.3 or 1.4 version now OR wait for 1.5 to come out? I'm not in a huge hurry, but would like to go ahead and make the switch here pretty soon.
Thanks in advance!

i think you have to wait until aku2.3 will be more stable...

Hi!
Could anyone please tell me how can I make my rotation icon on Today screen rotate only to Portrait and Landscape-left?
I know the registy setting for limiting Screen applet choises but it does not affect the Rotation icon.
I saw such possibillity in additional Settings applet in TuMa 1.4 but TuMa is too slow on my BA and has lot of stuff I don't need so I use another WM5 ROM.
May be there is any tweak or some small app that could help me? I've made some search but did not find anything.
Thanks in advance for helping!

gtp: look to the indi bar lite at 4pda.ru forum. It can easely do task bar and screen rotate and other things. I switched default tuma 1.4 screen rotate applet off. It terribly slow.

Thanks for reply! Indi bar is good but I thought it would be better to use internal rotation program instead of any external app but if you say the external is much faster I'll try Indi.
However, I'd like to know what is used in TuMa (just to know if somebody will ask me :) because I didn't find such applet anywhere.

i tought i couldn't left rotate either, but you can solve it with the basic functions. this is what i do:
map a h/w button to <rotate screen>
for once go to settings>screen> and set your orientation to lefthanded landscape.
from that moment on you can use the h/w button to flip from left-landscape to portrait. workes for me :D

so short explanation:
1. Make a BootLogo.bmp or use default WM5
2. Copy BootLogo.exe and BootLogo.bmp to \Windows
3. Crete these registry entryes into registry
4. Reboot
:confused:
Hi xplode and everyone else :)
Is this procedure described above possible for every WM5.0 based XDA ?
Like the new XDA Orbit from O2 alias HTC Artemis for example :rolleyes: ?
Thanks a lot for your efforts..
