Well, there aren't really that many places that will ship to the UK, and provide a really good price for an Atom.

I was hoping to get mine from expansys, but, I ended up buying of ebay.

Although I did, I got it for the cheapest price, brand new shipped from Japan, and had it within 5 days of purchase.

It comes with the full O2 warranty too, which was a plus, and I've had no problems with my Atom since I got it.

Is this phone sim locked? What cost would be good to buy from Ebay!

Hi socialworkersmith,

Spare battery for Atom is available, however, first time to hear cradle for Atom - is that official item from O2 or just 3rd party stuff?

I'm in Hong Kong rite now....went to Mongkok the other nite, and saw the myraid of handphones from everywhere...yup, and the WHITE Atom (otherwise officially named as Atom PURE) is in town.

I believe the functionality is the same as the original ATOM, just colour wise, it is pure gleaming white.

Is USD760 from those shops in Mongkok? Heard most items selling there are parallel imports, stolen or 2nd-hand. So buyers beware.

Hi henrylim,

Go to big chain store like Fortess, Broadway, CSL, PCCW, etc. The normal price range is now HK$5,600-5,900.

As always, do pay special attention if the selling price is significantly & suspiciously lower than normal range - that is true anywhere in the world.

As always, we have to pay special attention if selling price is significantly & suspiciously lower than normal range - either you are smart enough or others are smarter than you...... normally, it is the latter case

My Atom arrived SIM unlocked (As all O2 supplied phones are), the only thing that I didn't get informed about on ebay was that I would havge to pay the Fedex import charges. It cost me an extra 50 quid, but I know the same ebay seller I got mine from sells them for under $400 USD now, and the Atom Pure's come in around $450.

It looks like O2 don't have any future plans to deploy in Europe, but if you are looking to buy one, buy from the states and have imported. The import duties are cheaper to the UK from the US rather than say HK or AU.

Isn't <US400 for a BRAND NEW ATOM suspiciously low??

Hard to explan, particularly Atom is NOT officially launched in the US, how could the guy obtained such a cheap source??

Personally think that should NOT be a brand new Atom, but a 2ND Atom. FYI, if I sell my Atom to local 2ND hand market, it is around US300, and that can explain why somebody can sell Atom as low as US400.

Yeah, quite possibly, but thats what he is selling them for.

It cost me $750 US for mine, but it was brand new (sealed in box). Although, I think his source might have been from OZ.

I don't know really as I am not him, and have mine so don't care, but I could hazard a guess.

Expansys was another one of the options I looked at but would need to check what prices they have now. Either way, to get one in the UK is a challenge.

Baubaubau can assist you. (check few mails up)

Sent my dead Atom to Hong Kong for repairs and had some delays and courrier account issues. I asked him to check for me and collect personally. He shipped it on the 7th and arrived in the Nederlands the following day.

Picking replaced Atom (New one!) today at dhl office  Baubaubau was the service provider 8)

Bought my Atom from..... http://www.techoni.com.au "Fast delivery within 7 days" they have advertised. Two and a half months later I recieved my handset no reason or apology and courier left the parcel sitting at my door step. Thats two and a half months off warranty period, going on three months now and still have not received my screen protector or silicon case. Also my Atom is faulty and is currently at service center, be very wary of this site.

I work in an o2 store and wasnt aware that anything like this was in the pipeline so now i want one :) After reading thru the thread and a bit of googling ive found the following

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=129252

Is this the atom? From what ive read here I think it is but am a little unsure and being in the UK would prefer to deal with a UK store for warranty reasons so just seeking some clarification before I take the plunge

Thanks in advance and cant thank the previous posters enough for there advise so far.

In short, no, that's not an atom. It's the prophet.
It has the 200 Mhz processor and is bigger than atom...

You can buy a 'Pure White' Atom from Expansys for £455. They've been expecting delivery now for the last couple of weeks and the estimated delivery date keeps increasing daily so don't hold your breath they'll get any in stock soon. Here's the link anyway:
