There's not a whole lot out there that requires Compact Framework 2.0 (yet), but are there many folks interested in a 2.17 ROM with CF2 integrated?

Yes please! My streaming stock quote proggy needs CF2 and I forsee more software using it down the road.
btw, any chance on maybe integrating Adobe Pocket Reader one day? The ClearView is OK but doesn't open all my PDF's ....
Thanks dude!
(and mucho thanks for the latest 2.17 w fonts, themes, etc)

I'd be interested, for sure. I've got a couple programs that use CF2.
Just make sure that it has all the same contents as the previous special ROM upgrade (themes, fonts, whatever) and I *think* people should be able to backup using SPB Backup and then upgrade in place. It would be nice to not have to do a total reload.
thanks,

OK, I'll upload something tonight.
I've got the ROM itself built and everything appears fine. The problem I'm having is creating a working cab file that will install the proper registry keys. I have a reg export, and when imported with Resco it sets up fine. But when I try to import it into WinCE Cab Manager to create a cab file, it gets all horked. I'm convinced the problem is with WinCE Cab Manager. (I've tried on WCM 2.0.0.7 and 2.0.0.8).
Soo, what this means for now, is that if you want to use the CF2 that is integrated into the ROM, you'll have to install Resco (not free) or PHM (free) and manually install the reg file.
I might work on getting the keys into the hive file of the ROM itself (as opposed to installing them post-install), but I need to look into the tools for doing so a little more.

I would love that too! You're the whole reason why I registered for this forum summiter! Please keep up the awesome work.

Howdy all - I'm still working on this. Being somewhat of a perfectionist, I'm determined to automagically create the CF2 reg keys via cab file in extended ROM or by editing the default hive in the ROM.
I'll probably go the cab file route, but WinCE Cab Manager is still doing some weirdness when importing the key structure. I've got a dialogue going with the creator of WCM to see if the problem can be fixed.
One way or another I'll get a CF2 ROM up before the weekend is over.

would be to install the regkeys from a separate file using PHM or Resco like you mentioned.
This is all very timely because I somehow just fragged my 8125 so it requires a hard reset. Not sure what I did, something involving uninstalling SmartRSS at the same time that I was also changing memory cards and now the thing won't even boot into the Today screen. Oh, joy :)
So if there is gonna be a new ROM this weekend, I'll wait for it before I start all over!
