Hi,

I hope someone can be kind enough to assist me.

I'm trying to upgrade my SPV M1000 (orange) from WM2003 to WM2005.

I've downloaded the software but when I tried to install it the following error message comes up:

"ERROR 120 : COUNTRY ID ERROR

The ROM image you are trying to use is not designed to work with your pocket pc. Please check the vender web site and downlaod the correct ROM update"

Does anyone know what to do and where to download the correct rom?

Kind Regards

The nbf file is configured for operator ID O2 and language ID WWE.
If you need to change these, carry out all the steps below.

FROM a command prompt, change to the appropriate directory and do the following

1. Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files
by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304

(if you do not have Radio.nbf in the directory ignore this command)

xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306

2. Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require
by entering the following commands at the command prompt
substituting <operator> with the required value:

xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba

EXAMPLE TRY

xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so Orange -sl WWE NK.nba

(if you do not have Radio.nbf in the directory ignore this command)
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba

3. Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files
by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba

(if you do not have Radio.nbf in the directory ignore this command)
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba

4. Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering
the following commands at the command prompt:

xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304

(if you do not have Radio.nbf in the directory ignore this command)
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306

then upgrade as you have been doing.

cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping for something I could just click that would solve my problem. lol

I'm a newbie so I don't know much about all this technical stuff.

Whats a command prompt?

Where do I find the nbf. and how do I extract and decrpt them?

Where do I find the crc values that I need to change and how?

Sorry about all the questions but I'm kind of cluless.

Kind Regards

Hi,

I downloaded the software onto my desktop and then double clicked it. My SPV M1000 was connected to the pc via the cradle.

The error message came up when I clicked the programme.

Do I need to put the programme on my PDA where the NK.nbf file is?

When I use the rom editor and open the ROM image the follwoing info comes up:

Device type: PH10

operator: 02

Language: WWE

version: 1.60c

checksum: 0x3330636130643938

ROm type: OS ROM (NK.nbf)

What do I need to change from the above and where do I need to save it? Do I save it on my pc or pda?

After I've done that do I just run the upgrade programme that will install WM2005?

By the way the NK.nbf file I need to change is it on my pda or is it the one I downloaded with the WM2005 software?

Place HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe in the original folder as the upgrade software.

Then simply double click HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and it should work without having to edit rom files.

Thanks steve, it worked a treat!!!

How do I install the files in "PostInstallFixes_WM5_1.60cWWE_Himalaya"?

It says I need to install PostInstallFixes.cab. There is no cab file in the folder.

Is there anything else I need to istall to tweak the PDA or to fix any bugs?

Highlight PostInstallFixes_WM5_1.60cWWE_Himalaya.cab in explorer on your pc and right click and select copy

From within Activesync click explore (once set up with your pda), go into My Documents and select paste from the menu and PostInstallFixes_WM5_1.60cWWE_Himalaya.cab will be copied from your pc to the pda.

Then go into file explorer on the pda, locate the above file and click it with the stylus which will install it.

cheers

How long does it take for the radio stack to upgrade?

It's been nearly 2 hours and it's still upgrading. Is this normal?
