Hi All!

To simplify the update to the latest Dopod ROM for non-Dopod devices, I have posted the ROM as the unpackaged fileset with update utility replaced to one not checking vendor ID.

How to use:

1. Download the ZIP here: ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Prophet/Shipped_Complete_Updates/RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_S hip-NoVendorID.zip

2. Extract all the files in one folder

3. Go to the folder and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe

4. Follow the screens as usual

5. Restart and enjoy

Used to update my Qtek S200 to Dopod ROM. Should work for any other vendor, including Dopod itself as well :)

Disclaimer: It is just repackaged files got from this site with no addition from me. Use it at your own risk. I have no ability to support you.

Edited: the URL is fixed...

Any chance you could provide a imate ROM that will work on any device the same way?

Try using the ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_S hip-NoVendorID.zip in the ftp folder to the i-mate JAMin ROM.

Tried that with no luck. I will give it another go though.

ROM upgrade begins just fine but fails at 95% :(

ERROR [326]: INVALID COMMAND

This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your NBF file.

Weird - what is so special about the last 5%?

Thanks J.Walker!

My original rom was: RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship, I've now flashed with RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_S hip-NoVendorID.zip and it works great!

I also did a soft reset just before customisation begins to prevent the files from the extended rom from installing (no smartdialing or MMS but I don't use these anyway) and my unit is much, much faster....

Also with this rom if you change the default input method, after a soft reset it stays changed (this was a problem with my original rom)

Thanks again - I've been using this new rom for a week now and it is slick!!

Thanks so much for your post and guidance!
Just flashed my S200 with no problem at all, the process completed as you described in less than 10 minutes with all the stops at 80%, 95% and 100%.
The new ROM works fine for the last hour except that I have a little snag with the GPRS connection, with all the proper settings for MTS it refuses to connect, everything else seems fine.

Any suggestions on the GPRS question will be appreciated.

С МТС старая и широко проблема, нужна специально обученная прошивка радио, а она идет только в русских ROM-ах, в сервисе так же ее могут влить. Ищи в русских форумах по кутеку.

Spasibo,

and I thought it was the radio version of the S200; solution would be to drop the MTS to a new Beeline number or whatever else; not a big deal!

Thanks anyway - I can now relax.

I can only say that the new ROM is by far better than any!

has anyone compared the usability of this rom with installed extrom and without extrom? is there any speed issues like those in o2.de rom? is there any must-have cabs in this rom?

excuse my english :)

ive tried different roms but all are giving errors like above and more..
i was trying the pdamobiz version 1.0 rom upgrade when the trouble started..it showed me rom successfully updated screen on the pc and the jamin rebooted but got stuck at the startup screen (showing me new rom details but ob blue imate splash screen) i reset it afer 10 mins of being stuck and now its just at the bootloader screen after trying to flash the same pdamobiz rom again.. and i didnt do a cid unlock on it first!

Just one tiny comment:
Unpacket files of firmware you can find in temporary directory that appers in c:\temp folder after starting update utility, provided by manufacturer (file RUU_...exe). You need to copy the folder to another place, abort the upgrading process, replace update utility witch cracked one and then start it again.
