Xda Exec o2 UK can I improve it

I have one and wonder how I can improve it as it seems to have quite a few bugs.

The o2 website offers an upgrade for the ROM but I am wondering whether there is an even better one?

I also need to unlock the phone

Dilemma is in what order should I proceed.

Should I do a complete backup first?

The XDA Exec is unlocked by default (at least mine was) check it out..

Tried it with mine. Did NOT work. My o2 EXEC will not accept other SIMs.

Question still is..before I start messing with new operating system and unlocking...Can I get a complete IMAGE backup of the device as it is currently so that i have a restore point.

i beleive what you are looking for is a feature from activ sync verify how he process back up !
and or copy it out yourself !
