I have downloaded this ROM from seeo2.com and when i install it i get Error : Country Code Device ID error

Worked perfectly well for me - have you tried to reset the device before starting the update?

I might add that the device is a lot better after this update - faster and very stable (so far)

Worked great for me except now I can't sync contacts from pc to the phone

outside of that, it has really sped up the device

1. uncheck Contacts in AC. synchronise
2. check Contacts in AC. synchronise

after thet contacts must be synchronised

i have tried resetting the device as well
but still i get a country code or device id error
is there anything that can be done for this

Tried that, didn't work.

However, going to activesync 4.2 beta did work and now I'm using that.

dnetzone, try to set the Atom in bootloader mode (reset while holding down the action button on the D-pad).

I had the same problem, but funny thing i connected my phone via active sync on another PC.....and viola, like a charm it upgraded...

hi... im wondering will i lost all my data if i install this backup?? if so, is there a way to backup all my programs contacts etc?? i have installed quite a number of things and it would take a while to reinstall everything if that happens.. thanks in advance!!

I have a problem installing the new rom.

Every time I get to the Burn Radio Stack part the connection to my Atom is lost.
I get the message

ERROR: CONNECTION ERROR

And it asks me to reconnect the phone and restart the utility.
I tried shutting down all the programs on my PC including the antivirus n firewall software... but does not help. I still get stuck on the exact same point.

Any ideas???

I tried it again on another PC and with ActiveSync 4.2 Beta installed and it worked ok... so all good! :)

Hi, I've just upgraded my O2 Atom yesterday and now I'm having problem opening my text messages. I can receive message (shown 3 unread messages) but when I open the message, I cannot see any message.

I also cannot send any text message.

Could someone help me?

Wht i did was to install active sync on another PC, then i was able to flash the ROM.

Have u tried keeping the phone in bootloader mode before you initialize the ROM upgrade application...

After having upgraded to the official new rom, I got the following problem

1) Text Message - not able to open text messages that were backed up prior to upgrade. No problem for text messages received after the upgrade

2) Unable to turn on the camera flash - but the flash light is working when running the "Self Diagnostics".

3) SMS Plus - it seems corrupted

Anyone having the same problem?

huhuhuhuhu! please help i i tried doing the procedure 10x already.
my atom is useless its stucked at the black screen with the text "upgrade utilty"

I had the same problem. I upgraded with the 042606 Rom and literally had to wait about 6 hours before it upgraded through a USB 2.0 connection. I have no clue why it does this but I would try again--maybe let it sit over night.

I had same problem, but before upgrade, my Atom had an error, there's no radio sign, the phone turned off and can not turn it on by using "Turn off flight mode"
When go to system information, radio version: Not ready
Upgrading process is succesfull on PC with "Congratulations" but on the Atom Screen update radio still running and ... please wait. Wait and wait, UP and UP and ... still get trouble.
How to solve it? now on the screen only show "Update Utility" white text.

Hmmm....I got the same problem with my sms text. always show 1 unread sms but there's actually none. and there's no notification tone/sound when sms is received. other than that , its ok.

Has anyone experienced major problems after upgrading the ROM? My Atom seems to have taken it ok, although there are the little touches that I don't like, but they can easily be remedied.

I tried installing the ROM twice over, and use the registry tweak to remove the battery indicator on task bar. Then I let it stay active for the whole day, receiving only SMSes and 1-2 short calls. The battery life was OK for approximately 24 hours before it drops to 20% and the alert message pops up.

Besides that, everything else is pretty much more responsive now. My itech BT is loud and clear on voice, though i still get that intermident pause when playing MP3. Though I must admit that the pause happens much less than before.

I understand that for some pple, the battery life can standby for 3-4 days?! I am still wondering if I happens to have some battery guzzler in my app arsenals.

I upograded my ROM to the new factory ROM as suggested by seeO2. (ENG 20060426B1WWE)

Now, if I send a text message, phone thinks for a while then comes back with the pop-up message "Your text message can't be sent".

This is really Pi**ing me off as I have tried re-installing the ROM three times now, including from BOOT LOADER.........

Can't wait to get rid of it... My old O2 XDAII mini was better than this...What a piece of CR*P.

Can anyone supply an original ROM or a fix for this?...

O2 customer support doesn't :( (DO/KNOW/ANSWER ANYTHING, that is) :(

Did the text messenge worked before you upgrade?

I hade problem sending SMS but vodafone change my sim card after it works well.

Yes, it worked before upgrading. Now nothing...

I'll try a new SIM (I have a stack of data enabled SIMS at work :) )

when you send message you use "reply"?
if it is positive, try to use "new" to create and send message, not "reply"

Well,

After a lot of trial and error, it appears that my SIM is the problem. Tried another SIM at work and I could text fine...

Bit concerned about how the SIM was damaged (Vodafone said that texting was enabled on the network) as it was woking immediately befor the ROM upgrade... Makes me a bit suspicious about what the ROM upgrade writes to :)

Hello everyone, i just recive my Atom (With 1st Fw relase) and it had a lot of problem (Touchscreen blocked every 5 minutes and had to wait to reuse it)but after the upgrade all seem to work well exept the charge system:
I had a non originall re-Charge device (a USB universall recharge
AC adapter) so if i put in the Atom it doesn`t recharge the device..It appear for few second the "charging" icon and then it disappear...The only way to let work it is to turn totally OFF the device...Well do you think it could be a problem of the AC adapter (Not enought power to recharge on running?)

Thx for the answer, i just recive a EU recharge device and i will see if it works better...
Now with the new FW i haven`t that problem on touch screen anymore...Just this on re-charge system
