i cant find the option to do this anywhere in the manual or the fone-does it have this facility?

When you dial dialpad has a button - speaker on = try that :)

If you mean subject to a conversation, press and hold green key, or at least on the other phones that works.

when answering a call, say if im driving and dont have my handsfree available, i just want to know what to press so i dont have to hold the fone to my head while driving.
