My Prophet (Jamin) Upgrading Problem [Archive]

yesterday i got Jamin but wid old rom
i downloaded the latest unbranderd dopod rom from ftp.xda-devel....
but after completion of all updating my jamin is no longer starts
it is just blinking
screen flashs and didnt disply any thing
i am soo worried plz any body help meeee
i think there is something wrong wid bootloader,
any body knows
plz help

thanks bro, i did try to flash but its not connecting, becaz its not on, when i press power button it just blink and not turned on, i am so worried, flash is done when active sync is working and the jamin is turned on, its not on :(

Most likely the file corrupted.

I dont know how to put Prophet in bootloader mode but can be found in forums.

Try to put the device in bootloader mode; and try to flash afterwards.

I have the same problem after flashing with a corrupt rom. Only if i connect the JAMin to the power supply and then press and hold continuously at the camera button and press the power button once the device go to the 'boot loader mode'. But this don't help me because i have no connecting to the PC over USB.

read the forum it's written how you can put it on boot loader mode or you can try to hard reset

I don't find this post .

I try the hard reset but they dont't help.
I don't come in the boot loader mode, only if i connect the device to the power supply it works but now i haven't a connecting to the PC.

If i not connected to the power suppley and press now and hold continuously at the camera button and press the power button once there is now boot loader i see only for one moment

a white screen and also for one moment the blue light in the speaker

can i do not install the rom from my sd-cart ???

have anybody the image from JAMin ??

Forget about power button.

Press camera button. While holding it use the stylus to softreset. Take the stylus out but hold the camera button pressed. In less than 5 seconds, you will enter bootloader screen.

Hope it works.

You must put your device on to bootloader mode, how? Press the camera and the coomon manager (at the same time) put your stylus into the whole (as you made a normal soft reset) put your stylus out of the device but not the camera and the common manager botton, just a couple seconds after.
Don't be affraid is your device creen become with three colors, is normal nad the typical signal is on to bootloader mode. Now is time to find a JAMin ROM in the club imate web (if you are a member) or here in a ftp.

Tell us if you can fixed the problem.

try to connect the power supply to the cabel to enter to the bootmode and try to do software (i have same problem after flashin the jamin by kjam rom )

hi im having the same problem can u please inform me how u solved it, as im loosing the bootloader screen when ever i unplug it from the power.
buying a cradle will do the job

I tried to upgrade my Jamin to WM6 and now it dosent load at all so i wanted to go back to original ROM from Jamin but now it says "This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone.Please get newer NBF file."
also, previous used to have IMATE logo and now it displays QteK logo and freezes displaying
IPL 1.00
SPL 2.20.0000
GSM 02.47.21
OS 10.2.0.8
Can someone please help me how to get back to WM5 or WM6.

I have closed all the programs that i was using re-started, but still i get this error.

and used ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe instead of the original ROMUpdateUtility.exe and now i get
Error [300]: Invalid Update tool
This update utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone.Please get newer Update Utility

i sincerely appreciate your efforts in helping me, i did try to download from that link and it dint work.. (i think it's because the file is corrupt) i tried un-zipping with winrar, winzip
all fail.

Finally !!!!!!!! got everything working and my Imate now back to it's original state

i really appreciate flykthewiz for his support and patience

Just to re-cap the steps involved
1.Download original ROM
2.Unzip using Winrar it will create 2 folders(RUU_TOOLS,OutputFile), just copy all the file into one folder.(for example C:\ROM)
3.Download typho5.exe and nb2nbf.exe and copy to same folder as your original ROM files (for example C:\ROM)
4.open command prompt got to folder with files type "typho5 -x nk.nbf"
5.Delete/rename nk.nbf to whatever you like
6.use nb2nbf.exe program to make a new nk.nbf file (follow the JPEG in this thread to get the setting needed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300356)

7.download ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe (my imate is G3 if you need G4 download the appropriate file)

8.start your IMATE in bootloader mode
9.double click ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe and all fixed.....

Let me know if any one wants any of the above stated files.

I have followed the post from lordlinus exactly to try and restore my G4 Prophet. I get a bootloader screen on startup. I want to revert back to the original Jamin ROM. When I start the install, it always runs successfully to 50% and the software on the pc fails. The status screen on the pda stays at 50%. I have tried on two windows XP machines and a 2000 machine with the same results. Any ideas what I may be missing?
