Hey
I've got the same problem with my Atom regardless of whichever ROM... And so does my brother's Atom.
It seems that the Atom can't take rough handling and severe vibrations...
I say this because I noticed whenever I do some running when the Atom's in my jeans and especially when I'm riding my bike where my Atom is in the Bike Box, It will almost definitely restart thereafter...
Hope somebody could come up with a solution...
or maybe the ATOM is just a S.N.A.G. (Sensitive New Age Gadget)
Nevertheless, I still love my Atom...

Hey guys...
I dropped the Atom {again} the other week... And the restarting occurs more frequently...
Found out that the Battery is NOT snuggingly fitted in its place... and I guess the drop made it worse...
What I did was I slip a folded piece of paper (about 1 - 2 mm thick) through the bottom portion of the Battery so that it pushes more tightly towards the connection...
So Now the the Battery is NICE and TIGHT pressing on the connection...
And NO MORE RESTARTS ever since...
I dunno what kindof side effects it has in the long run, but well i prefer the current situation of my phone...
sorry for the long story guys...
Good Luck
yup.. me did the sam thing.. read abt slippin paper frm else where n was waitin to see it happens for a day or two b4 i posted here.. guess the battery is too loose and just as u said, wen it get severe vibrations, the battery also moves and get disconnected frm the contacts, so the phone turns itself off.. gues this is the solution afterall.. 8)
must sue O2 for makin the battery smaller.. :P

Try to clean the battery contacts with some sort of blaze. If they get dirty the phone starts to restart!

Loose battery attachment has been one of the MANY physical problems of HTC units....... SmartPhone (Tanager) was one. I hope HTC Taiwan can address the problem. Paging HTC!!! Your attention, please!
Like what you did on your Atom, i slid a double-sided Scotch mounting tape so to stick the battery on its [battery] bay, the problem of "uncalled-for restarting" was solved.
By the way, my Atom will be arriving next week yet, good thing i know the loose battery mounting prior to its arrival. I might change my mind and advise the supplier to cancel my order (of course, with a total refund of my e-payment)
Good day to all.
