I have a double sim card that worked fine in two different nokias, but I cant get it to work in my Prophet. Maybe it just doesnt work with more recent mobiles, but is it possible that its a WM5 problem.
Does anyone uses a double sim (no cutting) in a prophet, that could help me here?
Thanks everybody

I am using a dual sim in my Jamin. Switching between sim's is easy by using the comm manager and selecting the phone off and on (airplane mode). Much easier than turning the phone power on and off.

Jamin Rom: 2.13.9.23, radio: 1_02.20.21

Hi Leblancrs and thanks for answering, but my problem isnt with the changing sims part, I didnt got time to get there. The problem is that the twinsim (that worked allright with nokias) tells me that there isnt any simcard connected. Is it the WM 5.0? And can you tell me where did you get your adapter?
And... I'm not talking about doublesims with cutting, those I know work allright with almost any phones.
Thanks

I had an initial problem with my I-Mate Jamin. I was putting the sim card in until it "bottomed out". This was a mistake. I then found out that you just needed to "seat" the card to the front of the depression under the battery and not push it past this point. Then the Jamin recognized the card. Same with the dual sim unit.

lantronix - the dual sim card units are on the web. However, you must "cut" the sim card to reduce it's size (not a problem though) it has worked for me for a number of sim cards. It is really handy in keeping a "base" phone number and then using a "cheap" sim to receive calls while roaming.

I've seen the nice device from one of China manufacturer, the first pda/phone with TWO SIMs ACTIVE all the time. No swithing, you are just in two networks all the way. And the second model even better: GSM and CDMA same time!

By the way, it works under Windows CE and custom phone application because Windows Mobile can't understand more then one phone interface.

I tried the adapter where you don't have to cut the cards and it did not work at all. It would only recognize the main card.

.

From what I know, they're not both on at the same time, rather, they switch from one card to another at about 1 min's interval. This will drain the battery very quickly.

ALlright, I have noticed that it is not the sim adaptor that has the problem, but rather the Radio version of the PDA. I had no problems on the original Dopod rom (1.xxxxx) that came with the prophet.

However any version after that (radio upgrade/different radio) has not been able to connect continuosly onto the second (not in the slot) chip. It keeps dropping the connection after a while.

I tried it on my old windows mobile 2003 SE and it worked fine on that one but somehow it doesn't work on this.

I do not know what the problem is, and I haven't found the variety of Radio Roms for the Prophet that i wish there was. I used to use buzzdev and have a variety of Radio Roms to choose for, however with the Prophet I am quite limited in options.

If anyone know about the various Radio Roms available for the Prophet, please do let me know.

Cheers,

Oz

No, it's true all-time online model with two full featured radio parts and one common antenna. Guess, it will burn the battery more than single-chanel, but if you want to have something, you should pay for it something...

Ok, I'll pay for "something" but... if anyone knows about a doublesim (no cut) that works with WM5, please post?
Thank you

I have bought 2 months ago a dual sim adapter without cutting, it works fine in my Qtek s200, and it's quite cheap!

I had bought a previous one which was more expensive but drained my battery in half a day...

But this one works great!

Hi,

Anybody tried one of these 12-in-1 or 16-in-1 super SIM products with WM5? This one looks pretty good http://duosim.com/supersim.html

Kreis, I'm no expert in this subjects, but for all I know that works with a virgin simcard, you have to scan and then copy the content of yours inside it (up to 16 cards) . But there are several kinds of sim cards, and around the year 2002 the telefphone compan simcards changed from COMP128V1 to COMP128V2 and those arent abble to be scanned anymore.
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm using Neo, ROM Dopod 2.15.13.27 WWE with Dual SIM (2 cut SIMs) and cannot switch with the comm manager (Already OK with mini). I have to use the Simcard holder with small soft to switch.
May it only works well with Jamin Rom? Dopod Rom or Jamin Rom is better?

T think the new sim generation (the 2nd) cannot be read by the reader, so how can u get the informations of SIMs to add to the Super SIM? That's great If u have the reader which can read the 2nd gen sims. Pls tell us if u have one, thanks.

Completly agree with you, hamed. There no reader can read n scan simcards COMP128V2 up to now, I think.
