Am I able to use my previously backed up data (SpriteBackup) when I flash to the a different ROM? Or is the back up useless after a ROM upgrade?

Also, what different with this Qtek ROM?

My s200 runs very smoothly at the moment, dont know if I should upgrade at all.

Any thoughts?

My Qtek was shipped with mentioned WWE ROM (2.9.7./2.9.7.106). It was unstable and slow... After a week of use... Damn!

Now I am on Dopod's WWE 2.15.13.27/2.15.13.121, and feel good, no-more-stupid-soft-resets, feeling much faster and very stable.

If you have some good and stable ROM, I suggest not to change to this one...

make sure you CID unlocked your prophet or you can't flash it 100% back to anything else.

the dopod rom sucked for me (without the extended rom is was more stable than with the extended rom).

i prefer the jamin rom.

Wrong... The second referencied file has all you need to upgrade, incluning images and NoVendor update utility on place. Just download, extract, run, follow the screens. And be patiend, there some stops during upgrade, looks like nothing happens and all hungs. Just be patient for 10-15 minutes.

Oooops... The ROM is WWE, it means it support locales, but the interface is English only. To get French you need French ROM (it's downgrade, not so easy as go up) or some third-party interface localisation pack.

These not a patch, but the full ROM. Dopod's ROM version is 2.15.13.27 while referenced ROM is 2.15.04.29, then it will be downgrade, and standard update tool will fail. Look for downgrade issues on this site... There is a way, but not so simple...

2) Purchase in Moscow a "Russian speaking" Qtel S200 (to replace an earlier model)
3) Failed miserably to migrate: program stops after a feww seconds.

OK have the GPRS monitor attached. A friend was saving to buy my Dopod which was surplus because I had Atom. Now Atom is dead and for service so went to buy a Qtek yesterday which came with extra cd just for thisgprs monitor! The User manual is in the ftp upload folder of prophet.

Also changed to Dopod, but playing now with downgrading and back. That's what killed the Atom :roll:

2) Error message: Unable to install application. Please update your device ROM to the required version before trying again.
3) Operation repeated several times with same result.
4) Suppose it could be related to this "Vendor" problem mentionned earlier in the panel.

Just too bad!

I am looking forward to receiving suggestions.

PS: I notice that on the Windows Mobile Site upgrades have just become available for similar products to Qtek S200 (Imate, Orange, etc.) but not (yet?) for the Qtek S200

I bought a spanish qtek s200 and i would like to change it to an English version. What do you suggest? To download the file from this link and to install it or to do something else? How do i have to install it anyway? Just dubble clicking it when activsync is on?

Please help me out, i just have my qtek since yesterday and i really would like to put it in order.

By the way, do i have to do anything before installing the new ROM (like unlocking or something) and if yes, where do i find this?

I did what was told and i got the error 294.... which means i was using the wrong RUU to upgrade. Is there any other RUU that i should use?

What i did noticed is that ROM that was installed, was a higher version than the one i was going to install.
