No 2.23.11.1 ROM?

I work in Cingular's warranty department, and this advisory just came out today, so does this mean we won't be seeing an official 2.23.11.1 ROM anytime soon?



Recently, some Cingular 2125 and 8100/8125 customers in regions with Nortel Blue network infrastructure experienced SIM issues described as "SIM burnout" or constant "searching" for the Cingular network. This was due to the 2125 or 8100/8125 writing incorrect data to the SIM and typically occurred days or weeks after activation. This issue affected only 3G SIMs and has been resolved in a new firmware maintenance release, which is now available.

Action Required:

As of May 7, all Cingular 8125 inventory shipped from Cingular will include the new firmware. At the end of May, all Cingular 2125 and 8100 (non-camera) shipments will include the new firmware. Until that time, please ensure that your customers are downloading the new firmware.

The new firmware for the 8100/8125 is:

o ROM version: 1.8.11.1

o Radio version: 01.16.11

o Protocol version: 4.0.13.21

o ExtROM version: 1.8.11.103

The new firmware for the 2125 is:

o ROM version: 1.0.9.0

o Operator Version: 1.8.42.14

o Radio Version: 4.0.13.21_01.16.01

Not sure about the rest, but the radio ROM is updated.

I believe this new rom is the same one that is available at the HTC USA site. It just updates the radio rom to address the dying SIM issue, which I have experienced a few times.
