I bought some motorola HT820 Headphones for my Wizard because i had the Imate AKU2 update and was using push email, and i was horrified that A2DP wasn't supported. but a bit of diging around i got the patch to enable support on that Rom.
Now i can get it to work, and the quality is good with no stuttering, however it is very flaky to get going. if i use voice command to play everything the phone locks up, but if i load WMP after connecting to the wireless stereo and manually set it to play it works fine and all the play controls on the headphones work.
Now i understand why the mobile networks withheld support. as it is too flaky to be released mainstream and if they released official support they would be flooded with support requests.
but for the life of me i dunno why they dont release what they have got as an unsupported firmware image along side the supported image, leaving it up to the end user to decide. and if they set up a non-response reporting forum the likes of us on this board could report back issues etc. directly, and they could even take onboard fixes and workarounds we discover as a group, i am sure this would reduce work and speed development times of releasing a supported rom.
this would surely make sense, or would you feel they would still get swamped with support for the unsupported variant
Just my 2c
