upgrading qtek 9100

been out of the loop... i have the first qteks 9100 to come out (1.1.7.5)

figured i'd do a ROM update.... what has everyone been happy with? I'm looking for a stable version.

I'm using t-mo as my provider and my phone is unlocked. Do i need to do the sim unlock stuff? Or can I just straight up do the ROM update?

You dont need to unlock just upgrade with this aku2 rom

Try a direct upgrade first - connect device to pc via activesync and click on the exe of the new rom to start upgrade.
remember to backup any important data as all will be lost - just like doing a hard reset.

Hi, Just to let you know that I succeded upgrading and that now my rom is 2.17.
Thanks to all of you.
My next project is to install IIWPO (you know the pro that will send sms to apredefined number in case of owner or simcard change -wether stolen or whatever lost-).

My Wizard is a German version, but when I bought it in HongKong, it is loaded with English ROM.
ROM version: 1.3.13.5 ENU
ROM date: 9/29/05
Radio version: 01.12.10
Protocol version: 4.0.13.23
ExtROM version: 1.3.13.116

Can anyone help, is this the latest ROM version? If not, how can I get the latest and most important, stable ROM version.

FTP site has all the ROM's available, check through it and you'll see whats available. Which one to use, matter of choice and need, I'd suggest using the search function on this forum myself

Better you go to the wiki and you can see the roms here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades

Yours is quite an old rom so update to an aku2 rom english - will start with a 2 and WWE will in the name of the rom.

You didnt tell us which make of wizard you have to best advice you on what rom is good for you.

Any ideas?

Which browser are you using? - sometimes there is a glitch there. Try disabling firewalls and antiviral on your pc to see if that makes a difference.

Tell me the rom you want and try to get direct link you want.

btw WWE is world wide english - so if you want an english rom go for one of these - if you want the menu's in german go for the german rom.

Thanks. I have managed to download the ROM. Problem lies with the browser. Apparently cannot download with Opera. I used IE instead.

I have successfully upgraded to the new ROM. Seems to be working alright so far.

Hi - which rom do you have and what rom are you trying to upgrade too? If you are using an old rom you should use lokiwiz 0.2b but use the supercid option that should sort it.
