help connecting to a wireless network

in the user manual it says to go to settings>phone>networks to discover wireless networks, but nothing shows up... anyone guide me through how i connect to my office network?

Did you enable Wi-Fi in the Comm Manager?

had a play around last night and the small link bottom right of the screen (i guess this is the com manager) and i clicked on a greyed out wireless option and now i get a 'seeking' screen - just need to get into work to see if i can do anything with it...

BTW, how will i know if i AM surfing over the wireless network as oposed to via gprs?
