humph - toolbar buttons in contacts

does anyone know why i cant get the toolbar buttons in contacts in order to assign ringtones/photo's to different contact entries oh yeah, i have an xdaIIi

Are your contacts stored on the SIM or the device? - I think they need to be on the phone to enable this feature... :)
