Backup original ROM prior to upgrading?

About to start this process and I would like to know if any one thinks I should back up my original ROM prior?

It seems like I would only need it if I was to do a warranty exchange or possibly have to downgrade for some other reason. But it also seems like people here have the older versions.

Thoughts?

Just download the RUU either from here or HTC America's site for the orginal shipped Rom.

Or better yey, wait for the official released Rom on Monday so if you dork it up it will be covered under warranty...
