Is there a verison of the 2.25 rom for cingular that works with the bt sterio headsets. Or will the one from cingular work fine. Right now a am running 2.17 which works well, but I do drop more calls now, not much more but some.

I see you've fixed that caps LOCK PROblem. ;-)

You can have A2DP on any ROM you wish, if you search for, and install the cab file which is floating around here.

Summiter's AKU 2.3 ROM will work with native support for A2DP and it already has a number of Cingular customizations installed. If you just want "out of the box support" that works well.

If you prefer an older version of the ROM (some claim they are more stable) summiter has also integrated A2DP support in some of his AKU 2.x ROMs.

I'd suggest reading the threads on the custom Cingualr ROMs for more info.

*!A2DP hack.cab (included in the post)

Note: Just to let you all know that all my hardware and software was working prior to me updating to the latest code.

Procedure to Upgrade:
Backup:
Download and extract the aWizard-V1_3beta2 utility and execute.
Select the "e" option to Enable RAPI (Run this after each hard reset)
Select the "b" option to backup Radio, OS and Extended ROM
Syncronize the device to you PC before you start the upgrade!!!!

Upgrade:
Run the RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship.exe and follow the insturctions on the screen.

Yes... Your data will be gone.... This is why you Sync'ed before you started.

Install Software (usb):
First start by installing the A2DP cab file by copying it to your device and execute it from the device. I checked before and after and where as i did not have the A2DP option before I did notice it after this was installed. (Sorry, since I have no A2DP head sets I can't test, but will try in the weekend).

I installed all the softwar again and it all works fine so far, we'll see tomorow when it get's put to some use. You will have the choice of either re-installing all of the programs like you did the first time you got the software or you could open the MS ActiveSync 4.1 and select ONE BY ONE and restore them to your device. I have read of problems from some people who selected all of the programs at once and did the re-install... don't do it.

Configure and Test:
I tested the WiFi and I actualy have a better reception using a less stronger signall from the antena options ( I hope this means more play time!). I was actualy very easy this time than on the previouse stock Rom. Again, do not change any settings on you WiFi router, you will need the login information to the router to establish the connection again, I forgot mine and had to look in the routers security settings to get that back again (one minuite tops!).

I tested BT and that works like a charm too! I re-syncronized to my laptop without a problem. Again don't make any changes to your previously working BT enabled PC. If it worked before IT should work now. You will need to establish the BT security connection to you BT enabled PC. Once you accept the connection on you PC, go to your device (8125) and open the ActiveSync manager and from the bottom right-hand menu select the "Connect via Bluetooth". I also connected to my BT headset (Logitek) and works like a charm too! That's IT!

Right now I have WiFi, BT, and TCPMP and the audio and vidio is not skipping nor is the video choppy! I hope that the A2DP works!

And for those of you who did not notice I did this all without ulocking the 8125. So it's still in warranty! Well, let me dream that it is for a while before you tell me it isn't.

Thank you all, good night and good luck!

Of course, since you didn't CID unlock before you upgraded you're now stuck with a CID lock (unless you want to pay cash money for the unlock service).

It's best to CID unlock regardless while still on a 1.xx ROM so that if you do ever decide to upgrade to a custom ROM you can. If you don't CID unlock before upgrading to the official 2.25 ROM you remove the possibility of later getting a CID unlock for free.

There will be a way..... Maybe not now, but being able to unlock the CID will come with time. In any case, can I not go back to 1.8.xx rom, unlock it, then skip back to any rom I want? I've read of several people that have gone back to 1.8.xx, is this not true?

I wrote this because there are a number of us who do not want to run the custom roms, I am not a Cingular employ or know of one that would enable me to test roms and exchange my phone for a new one if I did toast mine. So for those of us that want to stay in the box, there's this.
