I am not upgrade to this ROM..& Don't have Bluetoth HeadSet Stereo

but T-Mob site said :

Software overview:
This version is the first maintenance release of the MDA Pro featuring Microsoft push email functionality.

and info from MSMobile :

upon installation users get not only MSFP (AKU2) with push email, but also Pocket MSN (including MSN Messenger). Push email is therefore available for MDA Compact II (HTC Charmer), MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) and MDA Pro (HTC Universal). Unfortunately no upgrades with push email for MS Smartphone devices from T-Mobile UK yet and it looks like stereo audio over Bluetooth (A2DP) is not included too...

Have you tried this ROM... :?:

I have not tried this ROM and TBH dont think I will!
Altho I receive a fair few emails, I'd rather let my device check half hourly and have A2DP then have AKU2 and no stereo bluetooth!

The old MDA pro ROM did not have A2DP either.

I notice this ROM has a higher radio ROM version (1.10.03 vs 1.09.00 for the Qtek ROM with A2DP). Maybe that would be a worthwhile upgrade.

Do those A2DP files which were floating around work on the MDA Pro?

It certainly did! The rom shipped with my pro didn't but after downloding the previous rom to the one currently on the download site, A2DP works fine.

I'm running the old T Mobile ROM which has the A2DP capability, have a set of Samsung BT Earphones, I'd like to go to another non gay looking ROM but unfortunately I like the stereo sound and capabilities (my G/F's Jasjar ROM doesnt support the A2DP fully) and I need Blackberry, the only combination I have found so far is the TMob old version.

Just thought I should drop a post in regarding this...

I recently got an o2 exec that was running an orange rom, as I'm on t-mobile and there was a new rom out, this one, figured I'd give it a shot.

Today I picked up a pair of HP bluetooth headphones, expecting after reading this to be changing the rom to get them to work.

However, on pairing them, they showed a stereo service, and on listening the controls are working fine with media player (skip \ pause \ volume etc).

I assume this means it *does* have A2DP and AVRCP...

Well I have just upgrade my ROM and I have to say that i am quite happy as Messenger has re-appeared and it seems to be operating a touch faster than before.

The hotmail auto download looks quite handy but could run up a surprise data bill if not watched carefully.

Co-Pilot seems to run a little faster too which is a bonus.

The Running Programs on the HOT key is most useful.

I used to experience issues connecting via USB to my lappy but everything is fine now.

Early days but so far I'd rate it a 9/10

msn messenger seems so iffy, im lucky if it actually works once a week!

Normally have to use agile which is a pain as it signs out after no activity after a while...

Bit confusing this...I have spoken to T-Mobile technical and they are checking;

The ROM mentioned is dated on the site as 19/06/06, but the installed date from Device Information says 04/13/06 (13/04/06 for us brits :D), which is also the current release ROM on T-Mobile units and the previous ROM Release on the site (from what i can gather).

So, is it an upgrade? or a re-release?

WEll im using this rom and after a month of not installing anything its gone a little screwy.

Sometimes i cant send/receive emails over gprs but ok over 3g.
Active Synch is completely up the swanny what ever version i use and what ever machine so i cant back up contacts.!
Lastly when i get text the ligh continues to flash green and not orange which is very annoying so i keep having to open it to look.

I may have to reflash although im leaving it as a last option as although it has the above problems its still running okish

Oh and the last thing msn takes for ever to sign in and thats if it works at all, agiles is instant on the sign in butthen has no email capabilty

I do seem to have a problem with GPRS and 3G...but only in that it takes exceptionally long to switch between the 2 (like 30-60 seconds).

I dont use the notification lights (turned them off) so cant comment on that.

Just a note for you...if you are using TMobile UK Web n Walk...it is against policy to use IM software across it.

Have you updated your Active Sync to version 4.2? If not then you need to be a least version4.1

IM, you talking about msn messenger?> Its not against there policy at all. Using skype or any kind of streaming is. Msn messenger is fine, hence why they have added it to there latest roms?

If they didnt want people using it they would just leave it out of there roms wouldnt they!

From T-mobile:

*Minimum term contact and credit check applies. Compatible handset required. Fair use policy applies: Relax + web 'n' walk and Flext + web 'n' walk price plans provide unlimited internet browsing on mobile handsets in the UK. To ensure a high quality of service for all our customers, they are not to be used for other activities such as (but not limited to): modem access for computers, internet based video/audio streaming services, peer to peer file sharing, internet based video download and internet based telephony. If such use is detected, notice may be given, after which network protection controls may be applied which will result in a reduced speed of transmission.

Unless im blind where does it say IM is against there t+c's?

And meatychi ive tried all of them(versionsof AS that is)

Means that list isnt exhaustive. There are other things on it that arent listed. Try what I did...call and ask them (better to be safe then sorry ;) )...hence me just letting you know its against there policy.

MSN Messenger isnt added to their ROMs, it comes as part of Microsoft Mobile 2005 and as far as I know Microsoft wont let anyone strip software out of their OS ROMs...else it would be T-Mobile Mobile 2005 not Microsoft Mobile 2005 LOL...if only :D

Anyway :D back to the thread.

Been using the ROM now for 6 weeks and find it very smooth and fast.

Msn messenger was not in T mobiles first rom as far as im aware in fact im nearly 100% sure ,and if you ask in the T- mobile shop as i did before making a company purchase of a few phones then they say its fine, they would state that IM was against there t+c's or just block the port. Plus IM doesnt use hardly any traffic, typically less than your average email with body.

Ive had mine for 3 months now and msn/agile is used everyday as is file transfer and they havnt mentioned anything to me.

And sorry if i seem to across rude :D at work and dont have time to type properly.

Weird

I asked in store and was told they didnt know. Called Customer Services and asked and was told it wasnt allowed, although using device as a modem for my laptop was - which clearly isnt in the T&C mentioned.

It is very odd that they include MSN into the new ROM but change the T&C's to conflict their release. Either way How are they going to track it? As long as you are within their fair usage allowance, I doubt that any eye brows will raise!

As far as i can see they havnt changed there t+c's? Still reads the same as when i printed it off 3 months+ ago
