Has anyone else had a problem keeping a Bluetooth GPS receiver paired with Tomtom. After much messing about I managed to get tomtom working and even paired it with the receiver, but when I switched off tomtom and restarted it the next day I had to redo all the pairings again, altering com ports etc.
Surely this can't be right

same problem here,
still looking for a solution, will post here if i found it, if you can find it first, please post it too...

i'm gonna take a look at the file properties written by TomTom, maybe they are setup to be readonly, making Tomtom forget it' setting and rest the com-port settings after every restart.
i m not sure yet if it's a tomtom problem or a bluetooth / gps problem of windows mobile 5.

Look in the registry for the com9 change that to com7 (the com port you used for pairing with gps device. It should work. Bought regedit.net for editing the registry

I finaly found the problem: at the bluetooth pairing setup of the com-port, the default selection is to use a secured connection, but it seems like TomTom doesn't support a secure connection very well..

so if anybody else has this problem: remove the current bluetooth pairing of your GPS device, repair, select the serial connection, add a new outgoing port to be for example COM6 and remove the "secure connection" selection.

Open TomTom and select the COM port you used as at the Bluetooth pairing com port.

Now, when the GPS is turned off and back on again, the pairing will be remembered and TomTom will immediately recognize your GPS.

I hope this will solve some problems for other people too...
