I have a device running a custom 2.25 ROM which is causing me problems (USB device not recognized and no ActiveSync).

I'd like to backup the ROM from a working 2.25 device onto SD then boot from the SD to restore the working ROM. sounds easy huh ???

Well I can't seem to backup the existing 2.25 ROM using using mtty or romupdate, the symptoms I get when I connect to the device are :

CLIENTCLIENTCLIENTCLIENT

I have disabled wscecomm for ActiveSync.

If I can't get the 2.25 ROM backed up onto SD do one of you guys have the know-how on building a bootable SD with 2.25 from scratch ? I'm guessing I need to extract the .nbf from the RUU??.exe and then make the SD bootable... am I in the ballpark?

Help guys !!!!

Thanks

Have you tried removing Activesync, then reinstalling it? Remove-reboot-reinstall.

From there, get into bootloader mode on the phone and attach it to your PC. No need to establish an activesync connection. Once that's done run one of the RUU upgraders.
